well 4 of us made it to the Fest.
ordinarily this space would be occupied with thanks to Tony and his gang for letting us play this year, to amai and jeff for coordinating it, Mike Magarelli for lending us the world and doing our sound and for gunmoll, strike anywhere, the bomb, snuff, radon, broadway calls, ship thieves, dead to me, off with their heads, north lincoln, mike hale etc....for rocking so hard.
but the biggest shout out has to go to derron (of gunmoll/less than jake fame) and Chad (of Ship Theives/no idea fame).
These poor bastards had to stand in front of this huge crowd and perform their first practise playing bass for samiam after 5 hours of cramming songs they never played before. We are so indebted. what cherubs.
also, thanks to mark from youth brigade for jumping up and helping johnny when his bass drum pedal broke....and to the guy that was playing second guitar for YB that let me borrow his guitar and changed a broken string. Although I have to say...either he was wasted drunk, retarded or a total asshole because he condescendingly went on and on about the virtues of stretching my guitar strings as if I didn't know. HA! Either way I thank you sir.

in 1990, these three guys piled in a van with 6 other bandmates/roadie and travelled for their first tours of america. it was brutal...crowded, long drives, no sleep, etc.....funny how we can laugh about it in 2009.
here, backstage at a samiam show sunday in gainesville, we see them thinking they are having a foto taken...

Kangaroo is the best meat I have ever tasted. I highly
recommend the béarnaise-slathered fillet at the Napier Hotel in Melbourne, and
thank Dave Snow for ushering me toward such a delicacy. All the bullshit about
how ‘gamey’ or ‘tough’ it is will melt away in your mouth. (Peace out to
all my vegetarian homies, though I can’t abide your plant-murdering approach to
dining.)
The rest of Australia was pretty cool too! It's like a big lake filled with Coopers. We had a kickass
time, and a shirtless disco party to top it all off! What could be more 'Samiam'? I love everybody in A Death in the Family. I wish I could grab Matt under one arm and Jamie under the other and do a little Three Stooges routine
to show how much. Thanks to everybody for coming out and making it such a great experience!

Hi...yes, we are excited to see you, koalas and various other cute marsupials. Please bring some to the dank clubs we will be playing at.
after this run, you might notice we are playing at the Fest in Gainesville with the Bomb, Ship Theives, methadones and Off with their Heads.
Then we are in the planning stages of our return to South America in December...including Peru, Argentina, Chile and of chorus Brasil! Oy tu-tu bang! How do you spell that? who knows...
I, sergie, did another drawing...please take a gander HERE.
loaf, sergie
