- "Thought Forms have created a record that is pure testament to kids with guitars.
Think Sonic Youth, think My Bloody Valentine.... think Mogwai.
Big fuck-off riffs with nice beefy distortion, hazy power slides through alt rock miscellanea." - Rock-A-Rolla magazine July / August 09

- "Thought Forms are in an enviable position for such a young band. Reverberating guitars evoke satellite frequencies searching for life and finding it in fuzzy, distant screams. Space-age shoegazers need look no further for their next trip. 7/10" - Rock Sound magazine August 09
_________________________________________________________

- "At Rock Sound we hav a particualr penchant for our post-rock. Not every band can nail it, but Thought Forms have pretty much got it spot on, as their self titled debut album proves. In fact, Portishead's Geoff Barrow loved it so much, he signed the band up to his Invada Imprint." Rock Sound magazine (Bubbling Under - The Best New Music section) Aug

- Review of "Something About Bees Cos They're Important" - July 09

- Thought Forms make their instruments tower higher than the sum of their parts, even when the sound is just that of casual jangle, but they then go on to create staggering waves of noise from a series of trapped, shimmering oscillations, force fed through bouts of overdrive. Spellbinding.

- "The UK's THOUGHT FORMS have harnessed the hazy gleam of My Bloody Valentine and used it to their own inspired ends on their self titled Invada Records Debut 7/10" - Metal Hammer magazine, June 09

- "This is soaring, epic stuff, the sound of effect pedals being tortured and sacrificed to the Gods of thunder. Phaser set to stun, and delays and fuzz too. KKKK" - Kerrang magazine, June 09

- "They’re raw – almost grungey – but they’ve got that shoegazing thing going on too. And if they’re looking at their shoes it means they’re not looking in the mirror, know what I mean?" - Geoff Barrow (Portishead) in NME, May 09

- "New young band Thought Forms on the excellent Invada label have come up trumps this week and taken the Record Of The Week gong. Blending the quiet/noise aesthetic with modern experimentalism and melody this band could well have it all!!" - Picadilly Records, May 09

Then in September, we've been asked by GB to play at the "Invada Invasion" at Colston Hall...
As the name suggests, some of our pals from Invada (Team Brick, Joe Volk and more) will be playing... and with full orchestra, too.
Which I think will be absolutely amazing and am quite excited about.

tickets available here:

another thank you to everyone who got the album so far...

it's available from the Invada Shop.

while you're over there, you should pick up a copy of the Team Brick album Alogon
it genuinely blew me away when I heard it.

Oh!
We also have a couple of copies left of our LTD edtition (30 copies, handmade) CD-R "something about bees cos they're important".

So we're in Brookln now at the home of Jared who will be playing drums for us at the two shows we have while we're out here:

14th May @ Death By Audio, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
and
19th May @ PA's Lounge, Somerville / Boston, Massachusets

we'll have copies of the album for sale or you can get it, of course, from http://invadarecords.bigcartel.com/

we're pretty excited to be playing here again as Thought Forms, it's been 3 years.

come down and say hello!

(Guy isn't here obviously, being in the midst of his GCSE's ... but he's playing drums for Crippled Black Phoenix in Nederland this weekend so if you're there that's happening)

Thanks to everyone who came down to our album launch on May 4th...
and of course Denim & Leather / Invada for being awesome, PARA / Spencer Clark / James Ferraro for being cosmic sounds of wonderfulness, Team Brick for joining us in sonic assault...

Jared just made us the best afternoon breakfast of ever.
The only thing that would make this better would be if Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk were here but alas, they're on tour... check out the dates, they're in our top friends and they're really cool so if you get a chance to see them over the next few weeks, you should.

that's all for now

Our album will be out on Invada Records on May 4th 2009.

This is what it looks like:

Cloudboy done that. Cloudboy is awesome.

There is going to be an album launch gig in Bristol (more info on that soon)

And then later on in May we're going back to the US to play some shows East-side, our friend (and one of my top four favourite drummers of ever) Jared Barron will be playing with us since Guy will be well into his exams by then...
So that should be fun.

And THEN, in August we're doing a tour of the UK and Europe with Team Brick who is VERYRAD.

Any promoters interested by any of that- get in touch!

There are some gigs occurring if you look on't main page.
And that's about it.

In April 2006, Thought Forms were lucky enough to go out to the USA and play some shows courtesy of Terrastock 6, we did that, plus two shows in Boston and one in NYC.

In Boston lives one of the most passionate, warm and vibrant women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, she really touched us at the time with her enthusiasm and love, and right now I don't have any words that could possibly scratch the surface here so I'm just going to post what she posted on her facebook...

"thought forms members present and past, it was your show at pa's where i was blown away by the intensity of for the moving stars played live. the energy at that show was when it dawned on me that my life is for making music. i've decided i want a constant reminder of that profound experience, and i also want to honor those who composed art of such a tremendous magnitude."

Cara DiMasi.

I wish Boston wasn't so damn far away.
Love and respect always.

and so i dedicate this to you, my loves.

and imagine that - the night after my tattoo was done a friend took me out to pa's lounge - total coincidence. and here's me at the vip table where i poured tequilla on you, charlie.

where it all started.
