Heights:

WTC Tower 1: 1,776 feet
WTC Tower 2: 1,354 feet to structural tip
WTC Tower 3: 1,155 feet (plus spires)
WTC Tower 4: 948 feet
WTC Tower 5: unknown
Seven World Trade Center: 750 feet

Once completed, the New World Trade Center will be the largest office complex in the world.

Enough steel will be needed to build the Empire State Building seven times over.

Construction will most likely begin early next year. Freeedom Tower is already under construction.

Construction of Tower 2 will require the removal of the Vesey Street staircase, the last piece of the old WTC that stands.

Tower One's spire will be made much larger.

Today, the 1,776 foot (541 meter) Freedom Tower, also know as One World Trade Center (1WTC), has been redesigned - again - for the fourth time. The version that is being built right now has over 100 stories and is designed to evoke the Statue of Liberty's torch; the spire that tops the skyscraper will feature a revolving beacon that can change color and cast beams of light into the sky, while thousands of glass prisms will cover the building's 20-story base. Freedom Tower is taller than the world's tallest building and has a cost of about 2.2 billion dollars. The tower's internal structure and technological features far surpass that of any other building. Freedom Tower is currently under construction; it will be ready to use by 2010 and 2011. The Triplet Towers will be ready by 2011, and a fifth skyscraper will be ready by 2012.

This tower will one day be more popular than the Empie State Building. It looks smoother than the older version from and has a design that's much more futuristic. There will be an observation deck on the 102nd floor and there should be about 105 floors in total, with 69 of them for office space.

Manhattan will become home of the largest construction project in American history. Lower Manhattan's skyline will become a dazzling maze of tower cranes and steel girders, all as workers tear up streets, knock down damaged buildings, rebuild the below-ground transit system, and erect colossal, shiny skyscrapers.

All in all, over twenty billion dollars of construction will take place.

Thirty-four massive tower cranes will be needed - four alone at Freedom Tower - to feed materials to the new skyscrapers; also, thirty mobile cranes and 124 building hoists will be needed.

The WTC plan will coordinate the arrival of 3,000 concrete trucks a month, the arrival of 7,000 construction workers every day, and delivery of enough steel to build the Empire State Building six times over!
