A couple of weekends ago Shauna and I celebrated a major milestone: Our six-month anniversary. On February 8th of this year we met in person at The Capri's in Rockford. I never would have thought that I would still be with this amazing hottie of a girlfriend six months later.
This poem that I wrote was part of a picture I made for her. (Before anyone calls me cheap, it was among MANY gifts I got for her, and wasn't the only thing I made.)
If you can read this and I'm not there I hope you will remember That though I can't be with you now In my heart you will always be found In darkness and light, forever.
If you can read this and I am there I hope you know this truth Although I'll fail and make mistakes In my heart you will remain In that you'll need no proof.
When you laugh, I'll laugh with you When you cry, my shoulder you can use When you hurt, I'll heal your pain When you're cold I'll be your flame When you're alone I'll come to you May not be right away but will always be soon I promise, whether you like it or not If you're happy, I've done my job.
If you have read this, then you know it's true These things I do not deny Since the first moment I laid my eyes on yours My world is improved, better than before I love you with all of my life.
I Love you Shauna!

Ponyo Wow!
Anyone that knows me knows that I am a big fan of animation, be it CGI-based stuff like Shrek and Ice Age, Flash based stuff like Foamy (http://www.illwillpress.com/) and Brackenwood (http://www.biteycastle.com/), traditional stuff like Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, combos (such as they are today) like Lion King and Little Mermaid, or Anime (Japanese Animation, for those unfamiliar with the term) like Cowboy Bebop and Escaflowne. Most of you already know also that I'm not a big follower on particular individuals or creators. There are two big exceptions, though, in terms of studios that Disney works with: Pixar, whom everyone knows for everything from Toy Story to the most recent Wall-E and Up, and Studio Ghibli, whom fans will know from Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, and Kiki's Delivery Service. This movie is the latest from that studio, and I look forward to seeing it. (Hopefully, they'll bring it to Rockford - I'd hate to have to wait for it to hit video!)

Congratulations to my sister and her husband, who just had their first born this afternoon. I will leave the details to them, but will hope for a quick recovery for my sister.

There are some things worth staying up late for, and tonight proved to be very productive.
Court Fines Part II: I have a court date on my sister's birthday, August 7th, at 2:00 P.M. While it is mainly to see about getting to knock off some/all of the rest of the $700 (over the halfway point now!) I owe down to community service work, I will be seeking to eliminate as much of the fines as possible. The recent incident happening Friday night/Saturday morning will be noted to the judge, as it has given me a justification for being granted some forgiveness. (After all, it wouldn't have happened had I been driving in the first place...)
YouTube Part II: The big reason why I am just now going to bed is that I ended up staying up all night at McDonalds. (The one on North Second is open 24 hours in the lobby - a cheaper alternative to Spring Garden and other places.) In addition to writing a short story, I learned a little more about said incident Friday night/Saturday Morning: In addition to harassing me, they ran circles and harassed customers outside of that McDonald's, and the manager who was working had to threaten to call police to get them to leave. This leaves me with the impression that I was targeted, either before or in the middle of, what happened there, since I thought it was odd that they would go in the opposite direction they came when they were finished messing with me.
So, in order: They drove down N 2nd heading North towards the Arby's when they called out "Fatass" at me. I yelled back at them, they turned around and attempted to spray me. Since they missed, they turned at the Subway and went around the neighborhood to where they are constructing the Mobil Gas Station that took the old McDonald's and the Bar that used to be "Cork and Bottle" out, and waited until I was at a place where I had little chance to run. After success in spraying me with beer, they drove down to Clifford, at which point I assume they either continued or started their games at McDonald's.
As for my comments about the police, as far as I am concerned I am justified in feeling how I do. I called prior to posting my blog about the incident to let them know of a substantial piece of evidence regarding the matter: The beer can they emptied to try to spray me with the first time, which was sitting just north of the business next to Subway on the side of the road. Whether or not they found it, they never bothered calling me back, which means the police chose not to pursue it.
This is the same department who gave me my second and third No-Insurance tickets that put me on suspension in the first place, and of all of the times I have been pulled over while walking, all but less than a handful have been by this department. There has not been a single year since I lost my license that they have not pulled me over, yet I've been messed with more in Loves Park than anyplace else. I may be in the wrong for not having proper insurance at the time of the tickets, and I may be in the wrong for taking so long to pay these fines. That is no justification for the amount of BS I've been dealt by the city, though.
I'm going to bed now - If anyone sees anything let me know please.

Right now, I hope what happened to me tonight got onto Youtube or some other video site - because if it didn't, I will not have any way to file a complaint against anyone for what happened to me tonight.
I was walking home from Spring Garden when some goes yell out "Fatass" at me. My natural response, of course, is to not take the shit and fling it back at them. They turned back around over by the Clark Station/Arby's on North Second Street and proceeded with attempting to spray me - a complete failure that time. They drove around, parked and waited by the apartments nearby until I was stuck with nowhere to go by the place where they tore down a bar to put up yet another Kelley-Williams Mobil gas station, and got me that time. Because of how fast everything happened, I could not get enough info on the kids who did this, and thus I wasted a 911 call to explain to a dispathcer that there was nothing that could be done. Those of you who know me well enough would recognize the yellow shirt and the wifebeater (sleeveless T-Shirt usually worn under some shirts, in case you didn't recognize the term) I wore untucked over my pants.
If you see anything remotely like this (I did yell a few obscenities at them, so don't be surprised) online at all, or you hear about anyone bragging about it, please let me know right away. I would have pressed charges had I recognized their vehicle better.
In the mean time, this has absolutely guaranteed me to be staying at home or catching rides should I go out this late on the weekends. This shit of punk kids, dumbass drunks and complete morons driving by and harrassing me has to end, and I shouldn't have to put up with this any more.

As of today, I am 50% finished with paying on my fines. I may be able to make that 100% tomorrow, though.
On Friday I will be going into the court to see if I can't get help with either a reduction, elimination, or putting to "community service" the rest of my fines. This is due to what I know is coming up in October: the inability to continue paying on said fines.
One of the things the person I spoke with said was that I may need to do a petition. If I do, I will need people to help me get signatures fast.
If I am lucky to get a reduction/elimination of my fines tomorrow, I know what will be needed next: People to help me practice. Even though I did get my license, it has been 8 years since I have been behind the wheel. I will have to carry SR-22 insurance (which will be necessary just for the learner's permit alone), but I will need people to practice with as well.
The next 24 hours could prove to be game-changing - keep your eyes peeled for more details tomorrow!

Those of you who have been commenting and noticing on either my MySpace or Facebook photos about the most recent ones may notice that I removed all of them (except for the Photoshopped one.) Unfortunately, I had to: I did not ask for permission to put the ones with Shauna up here, assuming I had the permission to do so. (As for the ones with me and Samson, the only reason those went up was because of the ones with her - Samson is NOT my dog, he is my mom's dog, so I don't feel comfortable putting them up alone.)
Generally, most of the stuff I post I get permission for, due to not wanting to piss people off. (That's why I've limited a lot of the photos to the ones with only me in it - prior to Shauna, most of them only had myself, since the only person whose permission I needed to ask was, of course, me.) With a lot of the photos with Shauna, though, I have not, or waited to ask permission until after they were up.
I would expect more of these cuts in the future - Regardless of my opinion of our photos together, She has control over what she is in, just as anyone else who's in any of my photos has as well. I would not want someone posting stuff of me that I'm uncomfortable, so I should not do it to her.
My apologies to her and to you.

First, I need to correct my headline: I am NOT sure if the wallet was stolen or not, but because mom lost it at work (she had used it to buy something for a break or something, according to her), I have to assume someone OTHER THAN HER has it. I searched the parking lot and asked a couple of businesses in that area about it, to no avail. (Sorry for the error, but I'm sure I'm not off by much considering when and how she lost it.)
Mom's wallet is still missing, though, and it has a lot of vital and irreplaceable things in there, among them pictures. (There was also money in there, but I'm operating under the assumption that if someone took it, there won't be any money in there now.) What I can tell you, apart from the fact that it has her now-cancelled debit card and driver's license, is that it is in a man's wallet with a Bass on it. (Unsure if it's embroidered or printed on.) It was lost at her second job at Big Lots out in Loves Park on Sunday between the hours that she worked (which, I assume, was 10-6 - the latter number of which I am sure of.)
If you find it, please return it. I can't guarantee there will be a reward (It's my mom's wallet, so she'd have to decide that), but it would be greatly appreciated. My mom's name is Denise Blomquist, and she lives in Loves park - if you find it, that information should be more than enough to get it back to her. Either return it to Big Lots or or to the address on the I.D. Thanks.

Finally got to see Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen on Thursday night, and unfortunately, it gave me more thoughts than it should have. The plus side is that it was an excellent and fun-filled movie that does a great job with Fan service. The minus side goes in a lot of different directions. First, let's start with the critics. Now, I can understand a few film critics not going and doing their homework, and as a result getting lost in the plot of the film. The keywords, though, are "a few": Most of the reviews that I have seen did not bother watching the first film, looking into the prequel material, or examining the source for the film (that being the toys, cartoons, etc - that the fans of the series fell in love with in the first place.) Even worse, many of them bring a prejudice to the film from either the director (Micheal Bay, known for explosive-action-based films Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and The Island - all of which I liked), or the stars (in perticularly Shia Lebeaouf, whom I first recognized in I, Robot, but also starred in Disturbia and costarred in the first film and the last Indiana Jones film, all of which I also liked.) I've said it many times before, there are a few films, especially in this day and age, that should be researched, that are not aimed so much at the general populace but mainly at the fans, and this movie is a good example. (That doesn't mean most people who weren't fans and didn't see the first film wouldn't like it, but it does mean that the fans will get more from this than most people will.) It's really funny how those who are fans are giving this positive reviews and how many people are going to see this film, and it will really be interesting to see how it does this weekend. Second, the big problem with the film is that it suffers what I will call the Reloaded effect, in honor of the film that I saw this in first, The Matrix Reloaded. Like The Matrix Reloaded, this film has enough story and substance to stand on its own. Also like that film, though, it has a fair share of reliance on its marketting strategies: in order to understand and enjoy more the the second Matrix film, you had to watch certain clips from The Animatrix and play the video game tie-in Enter the Matrix in addition to watching the first film, and as a result leaves some gaps that may make it unpleasing for some viewers. Likewise, while the gaps are far fewer and less noticeable than the first film, There are definite elements that, had I not read 2 of the 3 prequel graphic novels (have not gotten to the third, which is the sequel to the original Transformers film - The Reign of Starscream - or the regular prequel novels by Alan Dean Foster yet), I would not have noticed any of the gaps or realized that anything was missing. It's a great thing for fans who want and can afford to look into the series even further, but while most of the things I have noticed are minor, they could be enough of an excuse for someone not to like it. If you want a good, free read on this, look at the page IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) has for the movie, especially the goofs. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1055369/ Makes me hungry for brownies... LOL BTW, Good to see Agent Pierce back - for those who don't recognize him, he was killed in the first film and apparently has a twin in the second. Fans of the TV series 24 know whom I am talking about...
