Well you may all realize that you cannot remember the last time you read a blog from me... because the last one I posted was 195 and days ago... don't ask. So as if you care about my life here is what has been goin on lately.
I sold my old master keyboard (Axiom49) and bought a PCR-800 in its place. It's a 61 key controller- that's a lot to me! Finally found out how to use a sustain pedal in midi so.. I will get to use a sustain pedal soon once my order comes in- after 2 years of playing... I finally get around to using a sustain! I am looking to buy a Presonus Firebox, sell my Ozonic, and possibly get a midair37 to made into a keytar. I recently finished a backing track to Desperation's Light of Salvation of which we will be using as the first song to our bi-yearly event OUTBREAK on the 23rd of April.I borrowed a keytar from a guy at church which is practically a miracle.Right now there are only 2 Rolans keytars on ebay, one is 1500 the other is 2,200 so... I think you get the picture. They are rare.. and awesome. Can't wait to be portable with my synthing- it will be used at Outbreak.I am praying that the owner of the keytar will hear the Lords voice and understand that His will is for me to have the keytar.. forever..and not pay for it.
Last night the Desperation interns from the Furnace came to our church and Jared Anderson did worship- it was quite amazing, they had (have) an unexpected mission to reignite the power of prayer amung the young people which is a newly discovered passion and calling of mine as of this year. So it is kool to see my team mates in Christ (as well as other church youthians) get educated and fired up about prayer. The only way we can get the ball rolling with changing ourselves, our families, our schools and our nations is through prayer. 2Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.We had about 400 kids and a lot of freedom was accepted that night, I got to pray with 2 of my buddies and with a group down front which was powerful and a beginning of something that will not return void. We got to serve them breakfast and see all 50 interns once more this morning which was great, and I gave my music myspace address to the synth player which I briefly met, he does the same thing I do basically.
I am about to start producing my first song for my 3 track demo CD to be used as part of my application to IFTA. For sure one of the songs on there will be Before The Throne Of God Above.
God has been teaching me so much from the Word and from meditating on Him it blows my mind. Psalm 119 has become a large part of my walk in Christ, especially since I am teaching. I have got to be straight before the Lord, I have got to get rid of lies and opinions and empower my young people with the truth of God (of which there is only 1 of) and it can be a big task most of the time. Coming up with interesting ways to present the gospel and the life changing stuff from the bible to middle schoolers isn't easy and I will say I have failed most of the time. If you have any snazzy ideas on object lessons or games or stories... LET ME KNOW!
PSALM 119 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. 12 Praise be to you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. I had to buy a new notebook this month because I filled my last one up! It was 200 pages, I bought it Dec 24th and filled it up around March28th... so about 3 months. It's not that I just write a lot: God never stops talking! Already in just 12 days of owning my new notebook I have written a full 14 pages, that is, front AND back quite fully. Dreams, songs, scriptures, sermons, sermon ideas, words of wisdom all go in that book. Strangely enough it is black... kind of ironic I think. It should be white... and glowing... I have recently been dealing with a lot of faith (or the lack there of) issues with friends and it is as much a spiritual battle as it is a battle of opinion vs. what-is-truth, I can attest to it being so because of the burden it has put on my spirit, and soul fighting this battle. It gets tough when you are trying to not just survive (which is hard enough) but also thrive and teach middle schoolers to live for Christ and disciple kids on here AND in church AND keep up with / help the friends who have fallen away (or more appropriately walked away) from God. I could not agree more with:
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
But no problem is to big for God to overcome through us, and one of the very encouraging things in the Bible is that God used average people: Abraham was a sheep herder in the desert, as was David (and the youngest of 12 brothers), Matthew was a tax man, Peter was a fisherman etc. He also used (and forgave) people who sinned "greatly". Abraham was a pagan, David committed adultery and killed her husband, Jonah turned the opposite way God told him to go, Rahab was a prostitute, Solomon disobeyed Gods laws for kingship, Peter denied Jesus, and Paul had killed many Christians. So I have no doubt in me that I can be as close to God as anyone in the Bible was, and I can do just as great things.
Infact:
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Right now on Earth, we only think in PART but when we (the children of God) ascend to Heaven we will see fully, what is going on, what was going on, and who God is. 1Corinthians 13: 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears... 13 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
Wouldn't it be hard to not believe in God or turn our back on Him if we were right before Him, infront of Him in the same dimension of reality.
Isn't it a crazy concept to try to fathom that God is not subject to the flow of time, heaven may not be either, not so sure about that one. But God is timeless
Sometimes though here in everyday regular life God can seem false, non existent, not fair, absent, wrongly perceived, mad etc. But to that I have 2 answers:
1.We are stupid 2.God is all knowing
Isaiah 558 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. The thing that confuses nonbelievers and gets them all up in arms saying words like "contradictory" and "man-made" is Gods character, they simply dont understand it and a lot of believers don't understand it also. His character is build up of each of his traits he expresses through out the old testament and the new testament - love, wrath, mercy, judgment, healing, killing, blessing, removing, moving, hidden, comforting, fearful etc. You who listened in english class may be saying- "wait... those are antonyms, how can God be both loving and merciful, thats kind of hard to be merciful and judging at the same time...".
Yes, it is hard for YOU, a HUMAN to know when to draw the lie with your child from being merciful to punishing you kid, from giving gifts freely, and from not spoiling them. It is hard for us- but you know what they say: we only use 10% of our brains, well I do not know if that is even sceintifically proven but like Isaiah said Gods ways are above our ways like the sky is above the earth... that is pretty high- I know, I have been in an airplane before.
God in his awe-someness and perfection knows when to draw the line, He knows the long term benefit you will get by not giving you that material thing you've been praying for, He knows that you will learn from being burned the first time on the stove, He KNOWS. You have heard God called the Alpha and Omega so many times- but the depth of that is overlooked so much, and it describes Gods greatness perfectly- being the beginning anf the end of everything, everyday, no matter what, AT THE SAME TIME! He knows every rippling, or, "butterfly" effect that happens in your life because of what you do, or becasue of what Himsefl choses to do.
.He is forever.

How lonely sits the city that was full of people now! How like a widow has she become, how?, she who was great among all the nations, and congregations! She who was princess among the provinces has become more like a slave, behind the Fences.
She weeps bitterly in the night, with tears on her cheeks; among all her lovers who fight she has no comfort; all her friends have turned there back to her; see, they have become her enemies.
Judah has gone into exile because affliction and servitude; gone wild, she dwells now among the nations, but finds no resting place or regeneration; her pursuers have all overtaken in the midst of her distress she is still shaken.
The roads to Zion cry out loud, for none come to the festival or make a happy crowd; all her gates are unused; her priests confused; her virgins are now unclean, and she herself suffers bitterly.
adapted from Lamentations 1:1-4 Thank you God for keeping us For not turning your back on us For rescuing us from slavery And bringing us joy instead of pain.

This is a very edgy, epic, driving sounding song (in my head) I was inspired to write while sitting in the airport. I don't remember what brought to mind the concept of us being (symbolically) diamonds but isn't it a beaitufl word? "DIAMOND" so shiny and hard sounding... I like it. VERSE1 What if we are more than we think we are What if we could do anything we wish to, What if I know you are more than you think you are What if you could do anything that you wish to CHORUS We are diamonds in the dirt here It's difficult to know your worth You are shining, in the darkness Going against every grain We are diamonds in the dirt here It's difficult to know your worth Without help from the outside We need a hand to pull us into the light FILL We are diamonds, we can be diamonds VERSE2 Do you know where you come from, do know where you're going to Don't you know that what you let in is going to come out of you BRIDGE Are you a shattered diamond Do you need a shoulder to cry on Are you a shattered diamond Is your mountain to steep to climb on Are you a shattered diamond Well you can be repaired, you can be repaired Here's another one that i received after some awakening and spiritual eye opening to my spiritual walk and the effects of sin. I was inspired to write a song about starting over so here ya go- VERSE-------------- I'm sick and tired of starting over 'don't want to undo what I am now I've climbed all the way up this mountain 'don't want to fall back to the ground PRECHORUS-------------------- I don't want to dissapoint you CHORUS----------------------- You gave me life You give me love A sacrifice for freedom Given from above So I will not waste Yet another day In my battles won Let your will be done CODA-------------- Let your will be done, not mine Let your kingdom come, from on high VERSE2------------ You welcomed me back to your home Made righteous through your son And now I can't stop rejoicing For who and what I've become

So I just watched this crazy tripped out movie called Wakeing Life and its an independant slightly underground movie that is about this dude that falls asleep and in his dream he finds random people he runs into explaining there ideas and philosophy about life, dreams, and afterlife. As he wonders aorund he discovers he is in a dream and everytime he wakes up he is still in the dream! According to the general philosophy/idea of the movie when you die your eternal existence in the "afterlife" is you stuck in memories and in a dream state within your 8-12 minutes of leftover brain activity after you actually die. So the 14 or so people he meets while in this dream have completely diffrent walks of life and diffrent philosphies of life, everywhere from evolution leading us to a new evolution of digital merged with analogue to not being in "ant mode" and doing just what's necesary to servive easily. And through out it I discovered what real philosphy is! (have yet to take the class and I havn't really been exposed to secular philosphy). I realized I have a huge underlying philosophy of my own (well not of my own but of Gods) that stems from the Word of God, MY textbook for life. Any way heres a few things that stuck out in my mind that are the basis for the Bible based Christian philosophy.
1. Man is inherintly (or by default from birth) bad, or evil. 2. There is a God that resides in the Super Natural realm (and does cross over) 3. God is aware of the past present and future of every individual 4. God is now for the good of ALL mankind 5. Depending on our faith in God, the way our heart is, and the acts we do- our position in the afterlife will be determined -up or down 6. There are absolutes in life that are ABOVE our thinking and little opinions, they are defined in the Bible

Life Is not about what works for you Its all about truth Else- its a selfish pursuit Like the deaf chasing thunder You'll just end up 6 feet under And with nothing show, but a goblet of gold Whos got it? The highest bidder - SOLD
So dive into the Word so you can know whats true Whats worth your time and what bears good fruit Cause it splits a mans flesh from the bare bone In the Light of God all error is shown So dont chase the wind, let the light enter in Purifying every part of your being within Wipe away any likness of sin And when you break the chains you can then begin.
See lifes not always about feelin good Cause with lust, love is not understood Infact its twisted because the traits are listed So check 'em once, check 'em twice, _and then apply No need to shake well before your life runs dry, just_THINK About the end result, every decision brings collision and in humility provision

Proud to get some new tunes up, heres some interesting(or NOT) stuff about them.
Like This- I finally got some new drum libraries full of fresh snare and other drum samples so I was anxious to make some tweaked out acoustic sounding drum beats. I used 3 drum layers and 4 layers of my beatboxing. The 1 bar breaks of sudden silence were ment to be filled up with me saying somthing just to mix things up and play with my voice. But with the spaces un filled I am tempted to reedit and put SOMTHING in them, atleast a long stutter or sweet sound effect. That saw lead synth that you can hear around 4:27 minutes reminds me of those cheesey mainstream rap leads.. accept mine is way better.
My Orchestra- The only interesting thing about this song is the rain recordings. One morning I woke up and it was raining and sounded beautiful (as rain always does) so I setup my interfrace real fast and got my mic, set it on my window seal, and hit record. I recorded 5 minutes of rain. Then later that month when I got back from a 4th of July party around 9 it was also raining to I got a few awsome recordings of that of which contained some nice thunder hits. Other then that I had ton of fun using all those rpetty emotional strings, found a new way of playing chords with strings that sounds really pretty. I used a trippy feedback filter on the drums that you can hear its effects around 2:40 and on. Some of the rain recordings were reversed in that part at 5:20 and it sounds really awsome I think.
Falling Up- every time I put up 3 or more songs at once, there is always one that... I am more ashamed of than the others. This is that one. The intro synths and lines are cheesey, the drums are to harsh and highended. The only reason i kept it is because of the detailed work I put into the synths and the drums. I used a vocoding technique used back in the 70's to mix a synth sound with a voice, making a robotic voice sound accept here I made one drum track modify or "vocode" another drum track, they had the same beat patterns, accept diffrent drum sounds and eq-ing, gave and interesting dynamic feel I thought so... poop... The synth work is good though, maybe I should just fix up the drums and scrap the intro... darn us lazy musicians. I do like using my new organ plugin though.

When His name was finally proclaimed He was critically ashamed by the very children that He tried so hard to save. And it was... Jehova Jira, Most High, Adonai,_Son of God, Son of man,_and Man kinds walking rod, the perfect example of how to live life by The Law,_ full of Joy- free of strife filled up with insight from the Spirit inside where He did abide much,_ prayin on His face and such.

Woo I am so glad I have been able to spend time making music now.
SKYRED I really wanted to make a good piano line to base a song off of, after my last attempt at this in that piece of crap "Longroad" lol where I just pounded out some abstract chords to a wierd rythm and layred some clashy beats over it. I am happy with this, I did alot of work and re work on this on. The only thing I dont like about this track is the bass, during the second part is alittle odd, but I LOVE the high rhodes piano that comes in at 2:05 it rocks. So beautifully melodic and emotional. I got the name from thinking about Revelations end of the world stuff.
GRAVITY I wanted this one to be a classical sounding song, made urban with phat beats and what not. I love using violins and real instruments so I had fun programming this one. Most of all I hit the jackpot finding that guitar patch, man, so beautiful, I love the pitch bending! I am also very proud of teh drums, to get the dirty sound I ran it through a reverb unit with the size turned all the way down along with the decay down, that made a airy, short overlapping of sound and then from there to a distortion unit to make it clashy and harsh. The name came from thinking about how God has "gravity" and somtimes it seems you are just pulled into Him, or rather- pulled BACK to Him.
DISCONNECTED This one I wanted to be a really pretty instrumental, like worshipful, being in Gods presence but in a musical form. I also wanted the chord progression to be real musical, It starts in A, then goes to D and into E in the first build up, and then the chorus later on is in F#m then up even more to A. I did all kinds of resampling in this one- swells, chord chops, phasers, everything. I am really happy with the piano, which had 2 echoes on it to give a real spacey feel. But in the end I was like wow this is beautiful it needs a phat beat!! And now as I listen to it to rekindle the memories about it I just realizes- crap its to short! In the future perhaps I will remake it, into a big intense song of greatness and.. longer-ness. heres the words I wrote for it thats RIGHT! words!!
Disconnected... Disconnected from this world I can feel the colors swirl See the rush of wind... Underneath my skin _Filled up, once again Freed from all doubt No need to figure out I hear arguments from above The answer is just love... Him Original, no decimals Disconnected, sight perfected.
