Casket Salesmen & Välmart are on facebook .
I just checked and in order to actually find "Casket Salesmen" or "Välmart" when searching facebook you have to type them exactly as shown here. If you type "casket salesmen" or "valmart" or even "Valmart" (without umlauts) you won't find us...
You have to use an upper case C on Casket and upper case S on Salesmen. Upper case V on Välmart and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you must have the umlaut above the "a" in Välmart. To type an "a" with an umlaut you must do the following: HOLD alt/option and type the letter "u" and then type "a" and you will see that the "a" will have umlauts above it. What's an umlaut? It's a pair of dots above a vowel to signal vowel fronting, commonly used in the German language.
I know that's dumb and if I would have known that was the case I wouldn't have used the umlauts in the page name... and I tried to change it but can't figure out how, so if anyone knows how I can change the name of the artist page, lemme know! Also, I might be retarded, if someone knows something I don't about the whole upper case lower case thing, lemme know.
thanks!

Hello to you dear friend,
I'm coming to you this morning after yet another night spent, not
sleeping, but writing. Over the last few months I have been very busy
working on a new project that I'm calling Välmart. Say it with a German
or Austrian accent, feels good, right? Yes, I know. My buddies Nico and
Ben are doing it with me and we're slowly but surely piecing together
four or five pieces of music that will eventually become songs that we
hope to extend and fuck with live...
It's been almost a year since Casket Salesmen has been active (I
called it a hibernation, not a hiatus). But, we recently got together
at the new studio in Chinatown and started working on new tunes, sorta.
If you haven't been keeping tabs we moved out of the Longhair
Illuminati / Solunaris HQ in Corona, CA a little under a year ago. I
relocated to Los Angeles, Nate and Ryan are still stuck in the IE...
It's taken us about 8 months to get into a new space, but we're there,
maaan.
At first Välmart was just using the space, but now I am happy to
announce that my weeks are spent splitting time between Casket Salesmen
and Välmart writing/jam sessions. We record everything we jam so we are
taking notes and putting stuff together and these jams are slowly
becoming ideas which might become songs soon.
I guess the only other thing of importance to announce is that
Casket Salesmen will be doing a show (most likely our only show of
2009) on Sunday, September 27 @ Knitting Factory in Los Angeles
as part of The Second Annual Longhair Illuminati Art & Music
Festival. This will also be one of the last shows ever at Knitting
Factory...well, the Knitting Factory as we know it today... I guess
they are moving out of the Disneyland/Time Square section of Hollywood
(ugh, I hate it down there)...
Not sure if we're gonna do any old songs, but I'm pretty sure we
will bum like 2 people out if we don't so we probably will... But no
promises, k? Word.

Hello.
Phil here. Thought I would update everyone who was wondering what the deal is at the moment in the Casket Salesmen camp.
First off, I don't really think October 25 was the last Casket Salesmen show ever. We are hibernating. Not on hiatus. Not broken up.
Everyone is in a lot better spirits than we have been recently. We all moved out of Corona house / Solunaris Studios / Longhair Illuminati offices (thank god)...Nate is now living in Chino Hills and I am now living in LA. Ryan is still in Diamond Bar. Check out Ryan's other band, Mythmaker at (myspace.com/mythmaker).
I started a new band with my good friend, Ben. We're calling this band Välmart for now. Like Walmart, but with a german accent...we know it's silly. That's exactly what we were going for with the name.
We're currently writing songs and recording demos and are open to suggestions or submissions to fill positions within the band. We are currently looking for a keyboard player and two guitarists. Let us know if you are interested and live in the LA area and are a rad dude and have good taste in music and if you're ready to jam every day and play lots of shows and start touring within six months, hit us up!
Also, I will be djing around LA in the new year to make a little extra cash while Välmart is in the studio. If you need a DJ for your bar, hit me up!
Other than that, Casket Salesmen has enough material right now to record an EP, so if I can get Nate into that idea, then it'll happen.
And in case you were wondering, Ryan, Nate and I are all still cool. Ryan and Nate work together and I see Nate every once in a while. We're all still friends and have plans to play music together again soon. Just not now. As far as this band goes, we're hibernating for the winter (at least)...
Peace, Love and Välmart!
- Phil
