Happy New Year!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'll be sharing the bill with some old friends at the SIDEWALK CAFE this Saturday.

The night was curated by Joe Bendik and it goes a little somethin' like this...

9-The Sprinkle Genies, 9:30-Fenton Lawless, 10-Joe Bendik, 10:30-Randi Russo, 11-Lach

I highly suggest you come early to check out the Sprinkle Genies; I also recommend you stay late and see Lach, the person who brought all of these artists (and many, many more) together in the first place!

Sidewalk Cafe: 94 Avenue A (at the corner of 6th St), NYC

No cover charge.  2 drink minimum (or get some chow instead).

More details/links/commentary: http://www.randirusso.com/rr/SHOWS.html

And September's charity is The Carter Center. You can help, either by donating directly to them (obviously) OR by buying a CD from my website OR by buying a CD at a show.  ...a portion of CD sales goes to a new charity each month.*

Have a good weekend and hope to see you tomorrow,
Randi

Thursday, September 17, 2009
hey,

i just wanted to tell the people who have left a comment for me in the last month or so that i didn't even notice your comments until now.  My notifications folder has not been emboldened (nor have I received any indication that I received any new comments) since myspace did its latest update of its mail system.

A friend just told me that he left me a comment and so I checked my still-not-emboldened notifications folder and saw it there, plus 7 PAGES of other comments (trust me, I'm not trying to say I'm popular, since most of it is spam or shameless, mass self-promotion). So I have yet to go through all of these, but I just wanted to apologize to all of the nice people who wrote kind, personal comments and I never got back to you. I have posted some and will be going through the rest soon.

For the month of May, 25% of CD sales from the RR site will go to charity: water.  When I chose it, I had no idea that it seems to be the 'charity du jour', as I noticed from their website that it's getting some high profile attention with Hugh Jackman recently donating a large sum of money.  This almost made me choose another charity, but I had this one in mind last month and decided to stick with it.  To make it more interesting, I noticed a friend of mine wearing a charity: water t-shirt and she told me that they were selling them at big department stores (with a portion of the profits going to the organization).

Speaking of t-shirts (what a perfect, unplanned segue!), I have some new merchandise for sale.  Many, many shirts to choose from and a cute tote bag for sale as well (if I do say so myself!). I'll be adding more to the store soon.  Please check it out:http://www.cafepress.com/randirusso. All items feature my drawings on them.

I know times are hard and having more 'things' is not necessary, but let's try to keep money flowing in the universe! We will be able to lift ourselves out of this if we do so!

As many of you know by now, I've been donating a portion of CD sales from my website to a new charity each month.  25% of April's CD sales from the randirusso.com website will be going to Oxfam International.

If you already have Solar Bipolar and Shout Like a Lady, consider getting it as a gift for a friend.

All details are here: http://www.randirusso.com/rr/store.html

Also, fyi... CDs are cheaper here than anywhere else (other than the thieves that are sellers through amazon.com that repackage their promos and sell them for $1+).  By buying through the RR site, you'd be supporting the artist (yes, me) and a great cause!

Hi,

I have two announcements...

1) I'll be playing a solo show at Pete's Candy Store on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15 @ 9:30pm (sharp).  Before me is an open mic from 5-8:30, then Sasha Dobson (who I hear is wonderful) will be on at 8:30.  I will be going on right after her. http://www.petescandystore.com

2) I now have my CDs for sale on my website (before they were only for sale elsewhere).  If you buy direct from randirusso.com, 25% of Solar Bipolar and Shout Like a Lady CD sales will go to a new charity each month (more details are on my site). February's charity: Human Rights Watch.  I figure this is a way to give back while receiving. I've been meaning to do this for a while now and I finally got it all together on my site. For those of you who have known me for a while, you may remember that I started M.U.S.E. (Musicians Unite for Social Equality) several years back and had many legal hoops to jump through (more than I or my finances could keep up with) which just made the organization implode upon itself and so I had to put it to rest (for the time being).  So, I suppose I can do what I want to do but on a much, much, much smaller scale and in a more personalized way. For some reason, I'm just coming back to it now, four years later. Hm.

Details for the show:
Pete's is at 709 Lorimer in Williamsburg... need mass transit directions? http://www.hopstop.com/  or need to look at it on a map? view on googlemaps

Link to my store: http://www.randirusso.com/rr/store.html (by the way, you will not see a better price on these CDs...except for unscrupulous types who sell their free promos for $2 on various online e-tail sites).

Happy Valentine's Day in advance.  Be sure to show some Love... to anybody... to everyone.

Hey all,

We've planned a special surprise for you for this Friday's show: It'll be an all-acoustic show, featuring JD Wood on upright bass and Lenny Molotov on dobro and acoustic guitar and yours truly also on acoustic guitar.  It's a really nice sound and gives my songs a different feel.  This is a rare set-up and I'm not sure if and when I'll be doing it again, so try your best to make it out this Friday.

Details:

FRIDAY, JANUARY 30 - 9PM

SIDEWALK CAFE
94 Avenue A (at
the corner of 6th Street)
NYC

Come see the whole night:
8-Aaron Invisible
8:30 - Joe Bendik
9:00 - RR
10 - Lenny Molotov
11- East River Blues
Band

No cover charge.

Hope to see you there!
