So this is all new to me...PODCASTS. I didn't really understand what this was all about when I was asked for a review copy of Cannibal Flesh Riot!, but I said "What the hell!" This shit is pretty cool! It's like a radio show all about horror. But I'm sure all of you who have evolved with technical advances know all about it. Not me. I still listen to albums on the phonograph and cool my ale in an icebox. The show is hosted by Des, who obviously completely understood what I was doing with CFR and thoroughly praises it. He plays a couple songs from the CD compilation that comes with the DVD as well as songs from the original score. So check it out at the link below... dreadmedia

Hey German speaking fiends of the world: The latest issue of VIRUS (20) did a profile of Cannibal Flesh Riot! Make sure you go out and pick yourself up a copy. VIRUS is Germany's leading horror magazine. I have not had the opportunity to read the article myself (nor would I be able to), but Peter Sandorff of German Psychobilly band Mad Sin informed me by email "Then I recieved by mail, the latest issue of big German horror zine "VIRUS". Double page cool interview with you, top rated reviews of the movie, the soundtrack and btw the new Mad Sin album." Can't wait to get my copy. Wish I could read German. Be Grim! Gris Grimly

We've submitted our film Cannibal Flesh Riot! to a dozen or so film festivals. Some festivals selected CFR to be a part of their selection, and others...well...declined our submission. But that's okay with me. Honestly, I didn't submit the film to festivals for the prestige or honors, but to have the opportunity to screen the film in different cities and countries. Like I said, I don't have any hard feelings being rejected from any of the festivals. But one rejection that strikes me as odd was the Sydney Australia Underground Film Festival. When I received the email announcing CFR's rejection into their programing, I was given the option to request a critique from the judging committee. I said, "What the hell". The only way I'm going to improve is through constructive criticism. Just last week I received their response, and this is what the selection committee had to say:
• Excellent black and white cinematography and composition • High production value all around including great lighting and set design • The two lead ghouls are perfect for a modern day B-grade horror film! • Love the dialogue e.g. about the 'happy little food people' commercial • Great effects and stop-motion – blended in well with overall film • Wasn't drawing on clichés – highly original work that still kept in line with the genres it is influenced by • Overall, an excellent achievement, demonstrating great potential for the "Cannibal Flesh Riot" team and we look forward to seeing more work from them in the future.
So, can someone please explain to me WHY our film did not make the grade?
Be Grim! Gris Grimly
