THANK YOU BETH!!!!

Skate the Plank
Ahoy, friends and fans of the Hard Knox Roller Girls, welcome to Skate the Plank. Sailing down from Ashville, the pirate ship of the Blue Ridge Roller Girls, ready to do battle with HKRG.
The first period began with the anticipated return of jammer Jamie Skull to the track. Skull didn't let the crowd or her mateys down, scoring 13 points during her four jams of the first period. Trace of Death, Kell's Inferno, DDG, Goblynn, and Kat A'Kombs rally to score an awesome 55 points during the period.
Defensively, the blockers for the HKRG would not be outdone, holding the BRRG to 33 points. Blockers like Sauvignon Blocks and Battle Ready Betty swabbing the track with the likes of Krush Groove and Dragon Slayer shut out the BRRG in 6 jams of the first period. Both Battle Ready Betty and Lady Paine spent time in the penalty box.
The second period was not to be outdone by the first. As usual, the longer the bout continues the heavier the action becomes. DDG takes lead jammer status in all four of her jams, earning HKRG 8 points. DDG got some great momentum in the form of a huge whip from teammate Val Yumm. Jamie Skull having a great second period scores 15 points in her 3 jams of the period. The last jam of the second period nets Skull a Grand Slam! What an awesome job Skull. Glad to have you back.
Speaking of awesome job, there is no way you can go without mentioning Noli Chuckya of the Little City Roller Girls in Johnson City, playing for the BRRG in tonight's bout. Noli playing in only her fourth bout, takes a hit, gives a hit, and has speed like you wouldn't believe. She is an awesome derby girl, can't wait to see her play again.
Never to be second place to the offense of the HKRG, the defensive players in the second period came out hitting hard, and paying the price. Sushi Roll, DDG, BRB, and Goblynn all spending time with their dear friend, referee Kil-Joy in the penalty box. Goblynn playing a great defensive period, keeping Chello Shooter behind her in some of the best stall blocking I have seen, allowing Skull to zip by and take lead jammer.
Avast, the high energy third period arrives. Knox Villain leading the HKRG out in the third period with a 4 – 0 jam. She would round out the third period scoring a total of 10 points. Midway in the period, Kell's Inferno jumps over fallen players to take lead jammer status and earns 3 points during the jam. Late in the period though, Kell's Inferno would take a hard hit and fall that would slow her down. Like HKRG always say, "There's no crying in derby." In an up note, there was no game stopping injuries in the bout.
Skate the Plank ended in a fury and a 114 – 80 score. Both teams would like to give a shout out to all the fans in attendance. HKRG would like to thank all the visiting Little City Roller Girls for coming down to watch the bout.

Current mood: thankful
THANKS BETH!!!!
Summer rolled into Knoxville this weekend and brought the Derby City Roller Girls from Louisville, KY along for the ride. HKRG came into this bout needing a home win in a serious kind of way, having lost their first two. The teamwork, motivation and skills were all there Saturday night as HKRG brought "Cruel" to the DCR girls.
Defensively, the HKRG couldn't be beat, shutting out the DCR girls in 19 jams; coming out of the first period 30 points ahead. Hard hitting by the likes of Tank Her A!!, Battle Ready Betty, Lady Paine, and Madame Mayhem, made scoring almost impossible for the DCR girls. A hard hit from Lady Paine took DCR Biddy the Bomber out of the bout with what might have been a bruised or cracked rib. Hope you get better Biddy!
Offensively, HKRG jammers Drop Dead Gorgeous and Goblynn ruled the bout; both jammers having at least one Grand Slam a piece. Drop Dead Gorgeous scored over 70 points in her 10 jams, becoming lead jammer in 9 of those jams. Goblynn scored over 40 points in 8 jams, having lead jammer status 4 times.
As always, the third period was the craziest. In an offensive play that you don't see too often, DDG passed the jammer panty to Val-Yum, scoring HKRG another 5 points in the process. The third period also saw Goblynn and DDG do some time blocking while allowing Battle Ready Betty and Kell's Inferno do some time jamming.
So with a final score of 141-36, HKRG brought new meaning to "Cruel Summer" for the DCR girls. If you missed this bout, you should be ashamed. It had classic HKRG hard hitting and non stop action. Don't miss the next home bout on July 26th when HKRG take on Ashville. Stay in the loop by visiting the HKRG web site at www.hardknoxrollergirls.com!!

After another Loss to the undefeated Memphis Hustlin Rollers last month, the HKRG knew they need their first win at home. The Derby City Roller Girls of Louisville KY was next on the schedule. HKRG traveled to Louisville last year for what was suppose to be a double header but after some really bad luck on both sides it was one game with all the girls from each league that could play. HKRG came out on top then by about 35 points. This time it was HKRG's All Star team taking on Derby City's best. The night started off right with HKRG shutting out the first 2 DCRG jammers. After the first period HKRG was up by about 30 points. Their jammers took a beating with some awesome blocks by Tank Her A!!, Sauvignon Block, Karma Krash and Madame Mayhem. The second period was just as brutal and put the HKRG even further ahead. For the third period we got to see Goblynn and Drop Dead, our top jammers, do some blocking while Battle Ready Betty and Kell's Inferno got in some time Jamming.
The score: HKRG 131 - DCRG 36
We'll be traveling down to Mobile AL for our next game and have a little fun time on the Coast. Thanks to everyone who came out, the Fans, the Volunteers, the photographer, support staff, and skaters.
