I HAVE NO APPOINTMENTS FOR NEW WORK IN THE UK AT ALL, SORRY!
Q. I want to make an appointment with you, what do I do?
A. Studio appointments; I'm touring the world at the moment and so I am not taking on any new work at Modern Body Art, sorry guys, the times i am back are for existing clients to finish their work.
Non UK convention appointments; Fill in the tattoo request form at the bottom of this FAQ and send it to me. I get millions of requests so please be patient - I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Q. I really want to get tattooed by you, when's your next appointment?
A. I only book a month in advance at the shop and as soon as I confirm a convention I start booking for it straight away. Please don't ask which conventions I'm working, just look at the schedule on my myspace page.
Q. How much do you charge?
A. For large work I charge by the hour and smaller work by the piece and it varies from country to country.
Q. I know you're very busy, if you can't do my tattoo, can you point me in the direction of someone who can?
A. My shop Modern Body Art (
www.modernbodyart.co.uk) is full of amazing artists and my myspace top friends list is brimming with brilliant names, just take your pick!
Q. Tell me what you love to draw/tattoo.
A. I adore sexy ladies, animals and nature inspired pieces, as well as Japanese work. I'm looking to do organica nature inspired biomechanical stuff and fairytales gone bad.
Q. Tell me what I can do to become a tattooist.
A. Draw, draw, draw! Learn to take criticism constructively and practice, practice, practice. Be prepared to do anything and everything and maintain a good and positive attitude. There are millions of people out there all dying to be tattooists so have an impressive portfolio to hand that really shows what you can do and show to everyone.
Q. What machines do you use?
A. I use rotaries from New Generation in Germany (
taetowiermaschinen.de) and an old Mickey Sharpz machine my partner Matt Hunt set up for me for black and grey work (a short throw, fast running and soft hitting machine) . Aaron Cains and Kev Shercliffs were my favourite coil machines. I'm about to try The Hawk so I will let you know how it goes!
Q. I'm under 18 but have parental consent, will you tattoo me?
A. No way, if you want it badly enough it will be worth the wait! It is against the law but also I got tattooed at 17 and spent a lot of time, pain and money getting it removed and covered!
