We’ll be leaving late tomorrow night to start our US tour with Ego Likeness and Versailles, and I couldn’t be more excited!   We’ve added quite a few older songs into our set, songs that I have really missed performing live.  Performing “The Rain Within Her Hands” and “Fall No More” with a full band is going to rock.  Can’t wait to get on stage and make it happen.

And about the band… you’re going to see a couple new faces on stage with us on this tour!  As always, I’ll be there with Tony on guitar.  Now it’s time to meet the new guys…

Branden Shores will be playing drums.  He’s been a close friend of mine since high school and played with me in my metal band “Nerve No Pain” back in the day.  He’s currently playing with another outstanding metal act called ThisMeansYou.  Check ‘em out!  

On bass you’ll find Marshall Camden, formerly of “In Tenebris” and now performing with Tacit Act and Synthetic Division.  The Charlottesville music scene is about as incestuous as they come, and Marshall is happy to carry on that tradition.


Make some noise so these guys feel welcome at the shows!

Monday at noon we'll be offering a remix of "Find Forever Gone" for free download right here on MySpace!  There are plans to release an album of remixes from "Beautiful Death" next year to be followed by an album of new material. Spread the word about the free download so we can get this to as many folks out there as possible!

TOUR WITH EGO LIKENESS ANNOUNCED

I recently got some very exciting news concerning Dragon*Con…  I’m assuming that all Bella Morte fans are familiar with Troma Films. I’ve loved them ever since watching The Toxic Avenger as a kid.  If you’re unfamiliar with Troma, immediately CLICK HERE and check ‘em out!  Now, to the point… Troma is going to be shooting a Bella Morte video, and the filming starts at our performance at Dragon*Con.  So, if you want a cameo in the video, work your way to the front row at the show and you’ll have a damn good shot at making the final cut!  Costumes are welcome, and I’m hoping to get the Bella Morte zombie squad (see previous blog entry) in the video as well!

Hey everyone, I hope this finds you well!  I just got our set time for our performance at DragonCon...  We'll be going on at 1:30 am on Friday (Saturday morning if you want to get technical), September 4th in the Hyatt's Centennial Ballroom.  Those of you who have attended the convention in the past know that's a prime time slot, so we're psyched!  I'll let you know as details on our acoustic set and panel appearances are posted, so stay tuned bat-kids!

It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been to DragonCon, but I’m happy to announce that Bella Morte is returning this year.  I just got the call about this a couple days ago, so I have a mountain of work to do over the next few weeks to prepare for the event.  The past couple of months have found me writing music at a pace I haven’t kept in years, and I’m excited to say that a follow up to Beautiful Death is coming along very nicely.

Last time we performed at DragonCon a fan of the band suggested that we enlist an army of “Bella Morte zombies” to promote our performances at the con, similar to “The Cruxshadows fairies”, but with a greater tendency toward eating brains.  So I’d like to know… if you are going to be at DragonCon next month, would you be interested in joining up?  It would involve dressing up as a zombie (a sexy zombie if you’re a lady) and passing out flyers, spreading the word, that sort of thing.  Maybe work an impromptu zombie parade in there somehow!  I think it’d be a load of fun.

I for one am looking very forward to the weekend at D.C.  All this hard work has me looking very forward to a fun, stress free weekend in Atlanta… play a couple shows (we’ll be doing an acoustic set along with our regular performance), sign some books, and most of all hang out with you guys.  No schedule has been posted yet, but as soon as I know when our performances and panel appearances will take place I’ll pass it on to you.

I will be appearing at Barnes and Noble in Charlottesville, VA on Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm to read a few pages from my recently released novel, "The Sticks".  I'll also be signing copies and answering any questions you might have about the book, the band, or whatever else you can dream up...  Feel free to bring your Bella Morte CDs and I'll sign those too.  And maybe we'll invade IHOP afterward, the whole damn lot of us! hmmm...

I know many of you won't be able to make it because you live too far away...  I've gotten a lot of requests to do signings elsewhere, so feel free to make suggestions and I'll do what I can to get there!

As for what's new in Bella Morte land... I've been working furiously on new material for the next album, which we're planning on releasing next fall.  Several songs are coming along nicely, and it's been a very emotional process.

We recently wrapped up recording a new track called "Flatlined" that will appear on a Metropolis Records CD compilation that will be sold exclusively through Hot Topic stores this coming fall.  I'll keep you all posted on the details there.
