"GET OVER IT!"
In everything give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Consider Moses, the lawgiver and liberator to whom God gave the Ten Commandments. His name is still known all over the earth 4,000 years after his death. But remember, this same Moses was a murderer. He was listed in Egypt as "Public Enemy Number One". He was a fugitive from justice who fled to the wilderness where he lived as a shepherd for 40 years. Yet with the chisel of adversity God was shaping Moses to stand in Pharaoh's majestic palace and announce, "Let my people go!" A nation was born because this man refused to stop struggling to achieve his divine destiny. Don't be paralyzed by your past. If God used Moses, He'll use you. Everyone goes through adversity. The phrase to remember when things go wrong is: "Get over it!" Have you been hurt? Get over it! Have you been betrayed? Get over it! Have you failed? Get over it! Paul writes, "In everything give thanks." In reversal, give thanks. In heartache, give thanks. In poverty and in prosperity, give thanks. God is greater than the criticism you're getting. He's greater than the giants you're facing. He's greater than the mountain you're climbing. He's greater than the burdens you're carrying. Look at the Bible record of men and women who chose to focus on the silver lining, not the dark cloud. These people didn't curse the darkness, they shone a light and scattered it. They chose the right attitude, an attitude of faith. Come on, stop hiding from success because you're afraid to fail. Failure means you're a learner, not a loser. Stop fearing risk! Take God's hand, step out and fulfill His purpose for your life

What Is Wrong With Me
by Lawrence Powell
“For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of death? I thank God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!” Romans 7: 15, 24-25
The struggle within, that ageless battle between our old selves and our new and righteous natures, is something we all must take control of at some point in our Christian lives. We cannot allow ourselves to be taken by surprise at the battle, nor can we choose to sit idly by as the war rages, simply hoping it will pass. We must know our ground and actively defend it. We do this through personal inspection.
The Word of God in 2 Corinthians 13:5 admonishes us to participate in such honest self examination, but I've found in ministry that too often we try to ignore the things in us that need correction. Beloved, neglect will not cause issues to disappear. We must face them in the light of Scripture, and there find the remedy for our souls' ills and lasting victory in the name of Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, if we're not careful, we can become comfortable in our imagined level of maturity and insensitive to younger brothers and sisters who really want God to be glorified in their lives. Yes, we need to stand boldly against sin, but we also have to be loving and compassionate. We can't point fingers of judgment, sending folks to hell at every opportunity. We need to come alongside them and lift them up, lingering and laboring until they find maturity in that area.
Romans 6:11 says, “Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin.”
It's easy to glorify God with our spirit in praise and worship on Sundays, but it's not so easy to glorify God with our bodies. I'm not just talking about sexual sins either. You may not struggle with lust, but you might find being a busybody and a gossip enticing.
Verse 12 goes on to say, “Therefore, do no let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in its lusts.”
You can't let sin have dominion over you. After salvation we're no longer slaves to sin. We are saved, sanctified, set apart from sin and for God. But just because you're sanctified doesn't mean you no longer have the ability to sin. You're not under sin's obligation, but you still have the capacity to rebel against God if you walk according to your flesh rather than His Word.
Some students of the Bible would argue me on that. “The Bible says he that is truly born again cannot commit sin.” They are 100% correct. Still, we must understand 1 John 5:18 in context. It doesn't mean you no longer have the capacity to sin; it simply means born again people no longer practice sin as a lifestyle.
You can and will walk in sin if you take your eyes off Jesus. Our spirits are willing but our flesh is weak. We want to say and do the right things. But like Paul, it seems like we end up doing the wrong thing regardless and repeatedly. Great news, though: Paul gives us the keys to lasting victory.
The first thing you need to do to find deliverance and lasting victory is to run to Jesus. Let me say it this way: run, don't walk. You can't make a casual stroll at a time like this; you have to run to Jesus. Your deliverance is in Him. He won't leave you hanging; He'll come to your rescue. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21).
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
The second thing you need to do is change your mind. The battle rages there. Until you get it straight in your mind, your body will do what was conceived in your mind. Your mind has to be transformed, changed by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
In order to change your mind, you have to come in repentance. “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand (Matthew 3:2).” You've got to move your mindset from one of the world to the new you in the kingdom of God.
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. All the law can do is reveal the problem; it can't resolve the problem. The law was established and presented to show you your need for salvation, but it could never bring you true salvation. That is found solely in the One Who fulfilled the law - Jesus Christ.
Finally, you need to live in the Spirit of God. Paul exhorts us in Philippians chapter 3 verse 3, “Have no confidence in the flesh.” Forget your reasons for personal pride, your titles and certificates. They may appear to signal you've reached your destiny, but they're rubbish compared to the righteousness of Christ. The goal, the real destiny we seek, is the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. We must remember to actively press on toward that end.
Paul is a great role model for us in avoiding the snare of sin. He was focused and maintained, submitting to God and willingly choosing to forget things behind him to press toward that goal. He wasn't superhuman; he was just convinced in his spirit that with Christ's help he could be victorious over the flesh.
Beloved, it is necessary for you to emulate Paul if you are to live righteously. Like Paul, you must come to the place of a willing release of those hindering things or people behind you. Keep your eyes on the prize and strain every spiritual muscle to make it to the end of this race. If you make a determination to live this Word we've uncovered today, I assure you it will influence every area of your life and bring you victory over sin in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A Winning Attitude
by Lawrence Powell

Did you know that defeat is not an option for believers? Success is God's determined end for His children. Perhaps you have a defeatist mentality. Or maybe you've already made the transition from last place to winner in attitude and action. Either way, I want to remind you today that winning must be and remain your goal, your tenacious expectation.
You're a winner! You are a mighty man or woman of valor, a champion indeed. Victory is all over you. You might not look it from the outside, but what others see is a work in progress. You're catching up to what you were born again to be, and that is a courageous, invincible child of God.
Winning is never accidental. If you want success, you have to make a determined and intentional move toward it. It's not happenstance; there's no magic wand to wave that will bring it to us. We've got to participate, to cooperate with God. While we're designed to win, we've got to operate according to Scripture.
''The Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.'' Joshua 1:8
Winning means watching our mouths. Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Our words are not meaningless. They hold power to affect situations, to make changes. Unfortunately, too many of us speak defeat. We let negative talk come out of our mouths and poison our lives and circumstances when we should be letting the Word of God flow instead.
We ought to speak Scripture because it is spirit and life. There's nothing dead about the Bible; there's power in it that, when it's found upon the lips of His people, is creative in force and in ability.
Furthermore, Matthew 12:34 says that it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. One reason so many people are in defeated situations is because their hearts are filled with defeat. There is no Word content in them, so when they open their mouths, vain, empty, silly, negative stuff spews forth. We can't operate like this and expect to win. We need to rid ourselves of negative talk and replace it with the truth of God's Word. Then, when we find ourselves in a situation, when the doctor's told us we're diseased, when we only have six months to live, we'll read the Word and declare Psalm 118:17, ''I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.'' We'll declare that Word of truth and combat the lies of the enemy.
Winning depends on attitude. In Numbers 13, we read the story of the Israelite spies' return from the land of Canaan. Twelve spies came back with the fruit of the land, a cluster of grapes so large they had to be carried by two men, and a report of all they'd seen. Ten of them said, ''Yes, it is indeed a land flowing with milk and honey, nevertheless the inhabitants of the land are strong, their cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the descendants of Anak there, and we were like grasshoppers compared to them.''
Verse 30 says, ''Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, 'Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.'''
Caleb silenced the people. He knew if he didn't do something right then, the poison of false testimonies would spread throughout the camp and they would never be able to go in and possess that which God had given them.
No matter how scary things look, you don't have to fear. Whatever the Lord has promised will come to pass despite the many giants in the way. Remember you've got favor on your side. A winning attitude says, ''Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life'' Psalm 23:6.
Something about Caleb you need to know is that his name means ''dog.'' I often wondered what his parents were thinking when naming him. What did he look like when he was born? But the significance of his name is not found in looks, but in tenacity. Caleb was like a bulldog when it gets its mouth on something: those jaws would lock and he wouldn't let go. That's how we need to be. We need to put a faith grip on and hold fast to the promises of God.
Winning is a matter of perspective. Caleb was from the tribe of Judah, and Judah means, ''praise.'' Caleb came from a lineage of praisers. People who praise are visionaries. Praisers can see what others can't.
When you praise and worship the Lord, He opens your eyes. Psalm 50:23 says that God shows those who praise Him the way of salvation. God has a way of deliverance for every negative situation. For example, if you're in debt, He'll show you the way out of poverty and the way into prosperity. If you're sick, He'll show the way of healing.
Don't let circumstances intimidate you. Keep a faith grip on the promises of God and praise the Lord at all times. This is what champions do.
Winning requires action. You can't just be a hearer of the Word; you've got to do the Word. The Message Bible says in James 1 verses 22-25, ''Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are or what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God - the free life! - and sticks with it, is a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.''
You see, all twelve spies had the evidence, the fruit of the land, but only two of them believed the rest of the promise that they would possess the land. They heard God's Word, but failed to act on it. Caleb and Joshua both heard the Word and acted upon it, and they lived to find delight in the possession of the promise! I want you to know if God has given you a promise, it's yes and amen. It shall come to pass.
Today, you're not defeated. You're not going to die in your trial, so don't waste your trial with pointless complaints. Look beyond your current circumstances and see Jesus. Your help comes from the Lord.
Beloved, I dare you right now to reach down into your innermost self and release a great praise to God, one filled with faith and expectation, one filled with a winner's attitude. It may be a little rough right now, but you'll make it because you're wired, predesigned and predetermined to win.
Should you stumble along the way, get up immediately. Dust yourself off in Jesus' name and keep moving toward victory. Remember, quitters never win and winners never quit.

Sitting On Top Of The World
by Lawrence Powell
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Scripture tells us volumes about our position in the kingdom of God. We know that defeat is not an option for the believer; success is the inheritance of every child of God. We're marked with His favor, and we can expect miracles because even what works against us has to work for us! Romans 8:28 reminds us of this: all things, even negative situations, work together for good to them that are called according to His purpose.
So why is it that, knowing who we are in Christ, we still fall apart in the midst of trials when we should be of good cheer? Because we've heard the Word, but failed to do it. Today, I want to share a few points to encourage you to step out in faith and walk in the authority God has given you over all of your circumstances:
Don't Panic! This past January, US Air flight 1549 went down in the Hudson River after striking a flock of geese. When the audio tapes was released to the public, we heard the voice of a pilot in the midst of crisis operating with composure and confidence. His behavior saved all one hundred and fifty-five passengers on board!
All of us can learn from the pilot's demeanor and the way he reacted in a time of great stress. Isaiah 26:3 says, "You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You." Note that your mind must be focused and fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. There's no time to be carnal or flippant when an issue arises. You must remain steadfast and continue to trust Jesus all the way.
Don't Make Costly Mistakes! Never make permanent decisions over temporary circumstances. Suicide is such an example. You can't take it back; it's a done deal. Some people, in the heat of the moment, will make permanent decisions - they'll end a relationship, go to divorce court, even quit a job over one negative situation.
The Israelites made several costly mistakes that the wise need to take heed of. They gave into temptation, complained, limited God and forgot the past works of the Lord. Too often we do the same, failing to recall the wonderful things God's done for us. My friend, we need to take control of our thoughts in trying times and choose to remember that God is a good God and He is faithful to a thousand generations. If you fear, if you're anxious, if you're worrying or doubting God, you will never enjoy the rest that is made available to those who make the decision to trust in the Lord.
Don't React To Crisis; Respond! There's opportunity in adversity. Sad and gloomy news constantly bombards us through the television and newspaper, but, friend, we've got to gain a kingdom perspective.
In the words of Miles Monroe, "Crisis is the incubator for personal and organizational development." It's when we find ourselves in tribulation that we begin to be stretched. A crisis will place a demand on your hidden potential. There's something inside of you that is God-given and will only come out when you find yourself in a trial. That's when you have to become innovative. You need to be prepared to pioneer a way through your testing. It may not be a way others have gone through, but with the mind of God you can go through life's challenges utilizing the unique tools you've been given. Crisis provides opportunity for creativity.
Plan for success! Doing nothing is not an option. You have to make good decisions. We don't need to worry about tomorrow, but we should have a plan for tomorrow. A plan doesn't mean you don't have faith. In fact, God Himself expects us to make a plan to succeed. That's why He's equipped you with tools that will promote success in every area of your life.
In addition to the points just mentioned, I want to share with you four kingdom keys for success in overcoming a crisis in your life. Those who know how to use them will operate in this earthly realm from a kingdom perspective. You must understand that the kingdom of God is not under this world's jurisdiction, nor is it ever in crisis. If you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, everything you need will be added unto you. You don't have to worry about a thing.
The four keys that will greatly enrich your life are:
1. The Management Key. "Management is the effective, efficient, correct and timely use of another person's resources for the purpose they [intended, with the expectation of] producing added value," said Miles Monroe. Whatever you fail to manage, beloved, you will lose. God is given to effective governance. When you can prove yourself faithful in a few things, God will give you more. With regards to management in seasons of crises, you need to maximize everything. Stop wasting the resources God gives you. Jesus fed five thousand, and what was left over He said to gather so that it could be used. God won't give you what you pray about, but what you can govern.
2. The Faith Key. As the Pioneer of Faith, R.W. Schambach, says, "You don't have any trouble. All you need is faith in God." Faith demands expression or manifestation. It's not mystical or magical. You can't just feel faith and expect God to move on your behalf. Faith is an action word. The Bible tells us in James 2:20 that without works, without taking action, it's dead or useless. If you have faith in God, you will walk with confidence in shaky situations, and your faith will produce and it will pay rewards.
3. The Obedience Key. Faith and obedience go hand in hand. You can't have faith without corresponding actions. We cannot just speak words of faith; we must do what we believe. I'm reminded of the miracle of the wedding feast in Cana. The mother of Jesus told those that were assisting Him to do whatever He told them to do. The same holds true for us. Whatever He tells you to do, that you must do. Their obedience allowed a miracle to take place, and as a by-product, glory was exhibited. Whenever you obey the Word of God, expect the manifestation of miracles and glory to come into your life.
4. The Praise Key. In times of crises, don't withhold your praise. Your praise positions you to receive favor, blessings and miracles from God. As our text said, in this world we're going to be pressed and squeezed. We're going to experience anguish. But in those times of squeezing, virtue will come. In times of crisis, who you really are is manifested. You are refined as you allow the Word to have its perfect work in you. Jesus has given us a right and a reason to rejoice. Too many are living on a praise they gave God six months ago, but today's a new day and it deserves a new praise.
You may be going through a crisis today. I encourage you to go through it with a praise, a clap, a dance, a shout, a hallelujah. You're an overcomer! In Christ, we are the head and not the tail, first and not last. We're not under our circumstances; we're on top of them! Even in economic crises, God's going to feed, clothe and shelter you. Learn to be optimistic even when everyone else is pessimistic. You've got to say you're sitting on top of the world, not for yourself, but because of Christ. You're in Him and He's in you, and greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Receive this encouragement today and walk out our text in faith, applying the keys to the kingdom and experiencing the success you were born to have in Jesus' name!

Current mood:  focused
I HAVEN'T REALLY WRITTEN ANYTHING SINCE I STOPPED DOING MY "DIARY OF A MAD ARTIST" AS I'M TOO BUSY TO TAKE THE TIME TO REALLY PUT MY THOUGHTS DOWN BUT IN THIS CASE IT'S LONG OVER DUE.

WHO LET ALL THESE CLOWNS LOOSE ON THE INTERNET??? AND WHERE'S ALL THE MANAGERS TO HELP THEM?? BETWEEN EMAILS AND MYSPACE DAILY I'M CONTACTED BY DJS AND RAPPERS WHO SEEM TO HAVE NO CLUE OR LACK OF ANY BUSINESS SENSE AT ALL. I MEAN I GET HIT CONSTANTLY:

"YO NIGGA, WHAT DEM COVERS BE LIKE?"
"KAOS I HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A GRAPHIC, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?"
"YO I BEEN PEEPING YOU FOR A MINUTE SON, I NEED A COVER ASAP, MONEY IS NO OBJECT!! JUST TELL ME WHERE TO SEND THE MONEY SO YOU CAN GET STARTED!!!! ONE"

IN THESE CASES WHAT I DON'T GET IS, UPON 1ST CONTACT WHY NOT CONVEY YOUR IDEA WHILE YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION? AND SINCE MOST OF THE PEOPLE ARE RAPPERS, I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY LACK THE SKILLS TO COMMUNICATE THEIR IDEAS. THEN IF AFTER 5-6 MESSAGES BACK AND FOURTH YOU MANAGE TO GET THE INFO OUT IT SEEMS LIKE ONCE YOU GIVE THEM A PRICE SUDDENLY NO MORE REPLIES, WHICH IN ITSELF IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. OR THE NEW EVEN CORNIER THING IS ONCE THE PRICE IS GIVEN, THEY DON'T READ ANY MORE MESSAGES FROM YOU. SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE KIDS PLAYING "BUSINESSMAN" LIKE JAY Z SAID "IMAGINARY PLAYERS". THERE SHOULD BE MORE MANAGERS HANDLING BUSINESS FOR THESE PEOPLE. IDK, WE SEEM TO CELEBRATE IGNORANCE NOW, THE RUDDER, MORE UNPROFESSIONAL YOU ARE THE COOLER YOU ARE I GUESS. SORRY, I DON'T SPEAK THAT LANGUAGE.

Celebrity Mixtape Designer Launching Graphic Hip-Hop Novel
Published Friday, February 15, 2008 2:04 PM
By Tai Saint Louis

Top mixtape graphic designer Miami Kaos is prepping the release of a new Hip-Hop graphic novel, the former Source Magazine illustrator told AllHipHop.com today.

Due out in early 2009, Hardcore will reprise a comic strip Kaos created nearly ten years ago, at the request of controversial radio personality Troi "Star" Torian.

"Star had a magazine called Around the Way, and he wanted me to do a comic for the magazine," Kaos told AllHipHop.com. "I eventually ended up self-publishing two full issues of Hardcore. When I got the opportunity to work on ’Past and Perfect’ in The Source, I incorporated my three main characters."

The new novel follows the story of one of those characters: Chance – so named because he represents "Hip-Hop’s last chance."

In the story, Chance, the best rapper in the game, decides to abandon his lucrative career as an artist. His cousin, Sin, partners with a major record label to either convince Chance to step back into the booth, or to kill him and re-release his music posthumously.

"When I was doing ’Past and Perfect,’ I started losing creative control after a while because of various agendas and the politics at play," Kaos said. "When I stopped doing it, Hardcore took a backseat. But I always said once I made my first million [dollars], I was gonna take the time to work on certain things."

In order to achieve the same look, each pane of Hardcore will be drawn in 15" x 15" frames and then shrunken down to scale.

This method captures more detail than typical comic strips, which are drawn as they are seen by readers.

Over the past few years, Kaos’s Miami-based graphic design firm, Hardcore Designs, has become one of the most sought out in Hip-Hop, working with such prominent clients as Big Tigga, DJ Kay-Slay, DJ Don Cannon, DJ Clue, Busta Rhymes, C Murder, Remy Ma and Fabolous.

Kaos, who’s work graced the cover of DJ Khaled’s debut Listennn: The Album, has also worked on commissioned pieces for Missy Elliott, Nas, and Swizz Beatz.

Miami Kaos has also signed on as a spokesperson and partner in a new charity called Lit Hop, launching this summer. Created by longtime friend and publishing exec Rasheena Wilson, the organization will encourage continued literacy through various initiatives centered around Hip-Hop culture.

"Watching the emails we get and the way people call to place orders, I’m amazed at how we misuse the English language," said Kaos. "Why would you approach someone with whom you’re conducting business and open the first conversation with curse words? Even beyond that, you hear so much about artists having issues with their labels because they didn’t read their contract properly!"

Miami Kaos is currently working on projects for Marvel Comics and the G-Unit camp.

I know I normally fire off some stress here, but my good friend Wicked (WWW.MYSPACE.COM/WICKEDCT) sent me this and I had to share it with as many people who will heed it. Enjoy:

1. Give God what's right -- not what's left.

2. Man's way leads to a hopeless end! -- God's way leads to an endless hope.

3. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

4. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.

5. In the sentence of life, the devil may be a comma--but never let him be the period.

6. Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.

7. Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a face-lift.

8. When praying, don't give God instructions - just report for duty.

9. Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.

10. We don't change God's message -- His message changes us.

11. The church is prayer-conditioned.

12. When God ordains, He sustains.

13. WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning.

14. Plan ahead -- It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

15. Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.

16. Suffering from truth decay? Brush up on your Bible.

17. Exercise daily -- walk with the Lord.

18. Never give the devil a ride -- he will always want to drive.

19. Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it.

20. Compassion is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.

21. He who angers you controls you.

22. Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop.

23. Give Satan an inch & he'll be a ruler.

24. Be ye fishers of men -- you catch them & He'll clean them..

25. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
