I wrote an article yesterday summarizing the top and not so hot celebrity fashion lines (see my post), using WWD's article: The Celebrity Clothing Game published Oct. 2, 2008 as a source .  Now the article focused on major celebrity fashion lines and not so successful lines. It seems that a reader disliked my comment about Steve & Barry's Sarah Jessica Parker's line Bitten. Now I don't know about you guys but although WWD mentioned that Steve & Barry was getting out of BANKRUPCY , "But still, the chain's financial woes prove that celebrity lines don't necessarily mean huge volume, no matter how cheap the prices are." Perhaps, this means that celeb collabo's didn't help the chain succeed including SJP's clothing line.

I remember the Bitten line and I was very excited when it hit stores, however I was disappointed and don't get me wrong I love Sarah Jessica Parker, she's my icon but honestly the clothes were lacking the "it" factor and well looked, cheap. The store at the Manhattan Mall in New York City seemed gloomy and filled with tourists not fashionistas. I recall asking for help looking for a size and an associate just brushed me off (an overworked high schooler).

Now I want to reiterate that yes, these are all my opinions, this is my blog, this is freedom of press and I will comment based on my perspective and I will not suck up to anyone. I am a member of Independent Fashion Bloggers therefore I do not get paid to write cheeky comments to anyone, with this said an "anonymous" reader got really fed-up  when I mentioned that the SJP line didn't help much to get the company out of bankruptcy. I am not a financial observer or Steve & Barry's follower or best friend to say the least but although they had to close most of their stores VERY FEW remained open . 

The person who commented on my post seemed  offended by my statement, so I decided to look up the I.P address since I wanted to thank this person for taking the time to read and comment on my post, but I was shocked to find out it was from STEVE & BARRY's corporate office!!!  Check out the info below, BTW thank you for spending 45+ mins reading my blog it means a lot ;)Thank you SitemeterIP Address 69.74.131. You really should look up actual facts before posting.  Celebrity lines, especially SJP's Bitten brand, is the main reason why Steve & Barry's survived and came out of bankruptcy. S&B has a hard time keeping enough Bitten inventory on the shelves. Based on this high demand of Bitten product, we can see that your comments are strictly personal and not based on what the consumers really want.  Your "about me" statement should really read:  Fashion like art, is an expression of ideas, culture and beliefs, reflecting "MY" evolution and the state of "MY" mind.   Great work!

Wow, so you also censor and delete people's comments when they call you out on your errors? Why don't you at least reply or do the right thing and update your post to reflect the truth instead?I l
ove it, can you believe the Chief Operating Officer or a Steve & Barry's corporate employee is actually picking a bone with me, now Gary, Aka Truth, Aka hhoj66 . If you believe I'm misinformed please feel free to e-mail me and post a comment on a manner where my readers and I will be informed rather than forming a personal attack, I believe in being respectful and having a respectful community, so please stop harassing my blog and keep the personal attacks to a minimum. Your comments are a reflection of your company and many of my readers will be or were your costumers. Thank you for the comments, and yes I know I'm doing a great job, I'm trying my best to express my own ideas and views, I am not owned by a corporation nor I intend to be. I apologize my views do not reflect your own but this is MY blog and I am entitled to moderate it as I please.
