I have written a new post entitled, " The Gospel and Jeremiah Wright" and it is up over at Christ and Culture. I note that the problem Christians should worry about regarding Rev. Wright isn't his pulpit rhetoric, but rather it is his misunderstanding of the Gospel and his disregard for the fundamentals of the faith. I reference Dr. Denny Burk of Criswell College and Pastor Warren Kelly of the blog View from the Pew for their insights on Wright and his response to a question at the National Press Club on Monday about the exclusivity of the Gospel and Jesus's statement that "no man comes to the Father" but through Him. I hope you will stop by and offer your thoughts on this growing controversy and Wright's unfortunate penchant for Liberation Theology.

Since today is Earth Day 2008, over at my blog, I decided to post what I believe to be a Christian response to this day and to environmentalism as a whole. I address such topics as human suffering, the cult of environmentalism, and global warming. In the end, I provide practical tips on how we can be better conservationists, yet not at the expense of the Gospel. Check it out and let me know what you think:

For those of you whose email I do not have, I wanted to let you know that I recently took a position as Pastor of Cleveland Road Baptist Church in Athens, GA (BTW, my email has changed to sola396 at gmail).
Brandi and I will be moving there at the beginning of May and my 1st Sunday will be May 4th.
Additionally, I plan on blogging more over at Christ and Culture, as well as starting a new blog specifically for the congregation at Cleveland Road.
I also plan on using the blog over here to let you guys know when I have blogged at Christ and Culture. So, please consider subscribing to the blog here at MySpace, or subscribing to my blog using the XML reader over at Christ and Culture.
I hope all of you are doing well and will let me know what's going on in your lives, even as mine is about to get much more busy.

Current mood: disappointed
As I browse the blogosphere, I have found very few conservative Christian bloggers who have reacted to yesterday's election. What I think is happening (and has been happening for a few months now) is a lethargic reaction to politics by the majority of Evangelicals. In some circles there is even an outright dislike of the entirety of the political realm. After reading David Kuo's book, Tempting Faith, part of me rejoices that this is the case. But the other part of me worries that while the Dems will not spare any expense to bring about corporate or global regulations, they will likely push to de-regulate everything from abortion to cloning to the internet, which may mean a much worse climate could result in this country than what is proposed by global warming watchdogs.
I had thought about discussing the reasons why I think Christians have become at least lethargic about politics, but what I would rather talk about is what I see as the pro's and con's of this election. So here they are in no particular order:

Hey guys, I have another new blog post up. This one is entitled, "Are You a Red or Black Letter Christian?" and can be accessed by clicking on the link. Please stop by and offer your thought about whether the distinction between a "Red-Letter" and a "Black-Letter" Christian is legitimate. I hope to be posting at least one more blog about this very interesting subject. Be looking for it in the next couple of days.

After a long hiatus I have posted a new commentary on my blog, Christ and Culture. The new article deals with gun control in the wake of the Amish school shooting in PA. Please stop by and leave a comment.

I haven't been posting over here much, but I have been busy over at my main blog, Christ and Culture. Recently one of my articles, Tipping at the SBC, was mentioned at a couple of mega-blogs and in 2 days I had over 350 hits to the website. Lately, I have added a new feature called, "Friday Funnies" in which I offer some type of comedy relief to the Christian Blogosphere at the end of the week. Many of the blogs I read do a Photo of the Week (and one offers Poetry of the Week), and so I felt I needed to get a Friday niche. I hope it catches on. Check it out and let me know what you think.

This post is for all of my Lambda Chi brethren who are as disturbed as I am about the recent remake of "Magic Carpet Ride" for a stupid Wendy's commercial. If you haven't heard it, please don't waste your time looking for it on the internet. It's not there. According to this post at the Adtunes.com forum, the advertising group that made this commercial says that it is by a "nobody" female singer and refuses (as of now) to release the singer's name.
It was exciting to hear "Magic Carpet Ride" recently picked up by a few companies and used in commercial spots, but this is just downright wrong! I may not be able to go to Wendy's for a while. Maybe if Lambda Chi's -- all 250,000-strong -- boycott the chain, then Wendy's might confess their faults and sincerely try to mend their ways. We can have faith that it will happen.
IN ZAX,
D.R., LZ396

I have posted another two blogs at Christ and Culture. If you haven't checked out the site yet, please do. Things are starting to get exciting for me, as I am averaging about 80 hits a day and starting to see my articles posted at all sorts of other sites. BeaconChurches.Net has picked up a couple, as well as one on Theopedia and one on the king-daddy of Reformed sites, Monergism.Com. My book review of Game of Shadows has been linked by a few sites and I have even seen my name thrown around for SBC president (ok, the last part was a joke).
My latest two posts are on the offensiveness of the Cross and Albert Mohler's response to Brian McLaren's take on The Da Vinci Craze. Please stop by and offer your thoughts.
