Hey Everyone -

A couple of fun updates - the new album, "All The Way", is released this Friday, December 11th! To celebrate, we're playing a big show at The Mint in Los Angeles with our friends Mikey James, Curtis Peoples, and Keaton Simons. You can purchase your tickets to the show here!! This show WILL sell out so make sure you get your tix in advance!!

Showtime is 8pm and we can't wait! The new album will be available for purchase at The Mint, and if you can't make it, you'll be able to order through the website or via iTunes in January.

I posted a new song from the record called "Home To You", which basically tells the story of us driving to Austin. If you've been looking forward to driving to Austin and are waiting for the drive to hurry up so you can be in Austin, then you'll dig it.

Can't wait to see everyone!

Hey All

So in preparation for our big trip to Texas next month, it felt like a good time to post a couple of new song from the upcoming album. This is a nice change from talking about posting new songs from the upcoming album. This thing has been a long time in the making and we sort of started over so it's a good feeling.

"All The Way" and "Twice As Much" are the new ones - special thanks to Dr. Todd Beauchamp for producing the hell out of them. Also want to send thanks to Curtis Peoples, Leland Grant, and TV's Dave Yaden for special appearances, along with Bobbo, Magic Hands, and Elliot.

We're finishing up the rest in July and we'll be road-testing them next month in the great state of Texas. We're finalizing some dates as things have changed - for example, our original venue on July 30th burned down two weeks ago. Luckily everyone got out safely and we were not to blame (this time). We'll post the official finalized schedule this week.

Let us know what you think!

Hey Hey

So while we're finishing up the new record I thought I'd post a song I did a while back called "360". I wrote it with a platinum-selling production team named The Humble Brothers for a video game called "Sims 2". I had to sing gibberish (insert_joke) or "Simlish" and this game has sold over 14 million copies to date - I think I spend too much time on lyrics for the rest of my songs.

Anyway it's come to my attention that this is a pretty popular song in the game which is awesome and awesomely humbling. I had a lot of fun on the project - if you have the game, that's also me singing and playing guitar on "Hero" - so I hope you dig it.

Hey Everyone,

We're doing a show tonight (Wednesday) at 9pm over at Genghis Cohen as a guest of Shout It Out Promotions. Bob Leggett does a great job building a buzz and putting together amazing events for musicians and fans, so you'll definitely want to check it out if you're in the area. Band fav Isaac Johnson takes the stage right after us and that's always a treat. Plus, it's a good chance for a bit of hair of the dog after your St. Patty's shenanigans.

In other news, please do not try to contact us Thursday as we'll be watching our beloved Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA Tournament, our first trip in 11 years. Please please please win

Hey everyone,

A monster THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the show last Thursday at The Mint - we sold it out!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU! We had a great night - want to thank Ben Edwards, Curtis Peoples (on tour now!), and Dr. Todd Beauchamp for hopping onstage to help us rock even harder. Also thanks to Dave Yaden, Candace Devine, and Andrea Marchant for continuing the rock until midnight.

We recorded the show and we'll be posting songs on here - starting with a new one, "Blackburn", which is up now. Take a listen and let us know what you think!

In other news, we've got a couple shows this month and we're excited to keep breaking out the new tunes and new flavors:

Tuesday, March 10th 9pm
The Cat Club
8911 W. Sunset

Wednesday, March 18th 9pm
Genghis Cohen w/ Isaac Johnson
740 N. Fairfax

Also - check out the video premiere of Dave Yaden's single "Down The Line" over on his Myspace page. We are not in the video but it's still worth watching.

We're gonna do the Mint thing again this summer on a weekend night so we can get you all out there again - we had a blast and we couldn't have done it without you.

As an added bonus, if you send your email receipt of purchase to chris AT chrisparish.com, you'll get a free handsome Chris Parish Band koozie for all of your beverage-temperature needs. I was using these things before there was even a Chris Parish band, that's how great they are. What a lucky coincidence too.

Hey Hey

So it's the end of 2008 and I want to thank everyone for an amazing, insane, thrilling, rewarding, captivating, and sexy twelve months. I am fully confident that 2009 is going to kick the shit out of 2008 on almost every level - musically and otherwise - and this could not be happening without all of you.* Whether you were coming to one of our shows, letting us sleep on your couch, buying an album, or just saying hello, we really appreciate it.

Early in this new year we'll be dropping the next batch of tunes and we're excited. We're heading back into the studio with famed producer Dr. Todd Beauchamp next week to finish up some traxxx and mixing. We've been really ambitious so we hope you like it. He's also upgraded his studio to accomodate our brand of wall-crushing rock. And piano.

Once that's done we'll be playing shows and hitting the road and spreading the love (metaphorically - well maybe Magic).

I personally am vowing to post tons of new content on here - videos, new songs, thoughts etc - so there will always be stuff to check out. They often say that entertainment is one of the things to which people turn during a bad economy. I'm going to test that theory. I'm going to be honest with you, Magic and I just recorded a 70's style disco R&B song and we might have to incorporate more of that.

I want to thank the guys - Bobbo, Elliot, and Magic - for being the best band in history. Sometimes we'll be in rehearsal or onstage and I can't believe guys this talented spend this much time with me. I mean I come with a plethora of benefits - I learned to tune my guitar! - but they're the cat's pajamas.

I want to thank Miss J. Fischer for helping out four prima donnas and for getting ready to do it again. For someone to love music as much as she does, to work with great bands and include us in those efforts, is an honor.

And of course January 20th will be the day that our long national nightmare ends. I actually felt bad for W when that dude was throwing shoes at him. I mean number one, someone is throwing shoes at our freakin president. I think the dude got sick of this job about five years ago.

And finally, here are some of my favorite albums of the last year. A few didn't come out in 2008 but screw you, this is my list.

The Fallen Stars - Where The Road Bends. I would like to play one instrument as well as Bobbo plays eleven.

Curtis Peoples - Curtis Peoples. This is a really polished and enjoyable batch of pop-rock. And the hair!

TV's Dave Yaden- Bear Me Up. Dave is one of my favorite lyricists and also one hell of a gardener.

The Hold Steady - Stay Positive. My friend Chad has been bugging me to listen to these guys for a year so I finally did. Well the skinny bastard was right, they rock.

Death Cab for Cutie - Narrow Stairs. I immediately wished I'd written half the songs on this album. You know in real life these guys are fuckin dorks who keep to themselves and just bust out sweet melodies. I hate them

John Legend - Once Again. I don't have his latest, but I soon will. Amy always plays this when we're making dinner and if I learn to write more songs like this guy, we'll be spending less time making dinner if you know what I'm saying.

Ne-Yo - Year of the Gentleman. Indeed

Bob Dylan - a bunch of stuff. I've never really listened to him before and then called Bobbo one day and was like "I feel like I should listen to Bob Dylan" and he was like "yeah" and I was like "Can you believe Blair finally told Chuck she loves him?" and he was like "Yeah I know that's crazy, he's so hurt right now but afraid to tell her he needs her." It was nuts.

Bleu Edmondson- Lost Boy. This album came out late last year but it's still really awesome.

Taylor Swift - Look, what do you want from me

Pearl Jam - Every album except for Binaural and half of No Code. Keep an eye on these youngsters, I think they're on to something.

Elliot Hilton - upcoming 2009 album. I haven't heard most of it yet but he is seriously one of my favorite songwriters of all time. I hope he calls it "Yes, my phone does work, why?"

So I've been bedridden with a death virus - compliments of Minnesota - so I'm off. We're playing at the Cat Club next Tuesday and would love to see you there. And we've got a big one in February at The Mint with Dave so get pumped!

And remember - the love emergency don't have to wait.

Hey Everyone,

We've got a show next Tuesday, Dec 2, at 9pm at The Cat Club - we'd love to see you out there! Bobbo will be doing a solo set at 8:30 to get everyone fired up, but don't get there early unless sexy crooning hits is your thing.

Hope everyone has safe travels this holiday weekend. We here at Chris Parish Band headquarters are very thankful for this wonderful year we've had at the hands of you. It's humbling when you work your ass off at something you love, and people give a crap*. It's been wonderful to see your beautiful and sexy faces at our shows this year, and we can't wait to turn it up a notch in 2009 with a new album!

In these tough economic and turbulent times, it's easy to sit back and make a list of things that aren't going our way. But we're all going each other's way, if that makes sense (it probably doesn't) and we're deeply honored. May Tony Romo throw six touchdowns tomorrow as an act of gratitude towards you all (and y'all).

Wake up tomorrow and tell someone that you love them.
