Current mood: ecstatic
On March 5th, a music critic for antimusic. com, Kevin Wierzbicki, wrote an article promoting the new albums of a select few bands from the Valley entitled Hot in the City. While The Undertone were not featured, we get a small shout out at the end of the article in the last paragraph.
"WOO HOO"
I know it's just a small little paragraph but it's a start. We've gone through such amazing growth in the last few years and now it's 2009: The Year of The Undertone!!! This is just the start folks. Next stop: world domination!
I may not know you Mr. Wierzbicki but thank you for making my day!
To see the article in it's entirety, check out this link!

Current mood: amorous
Okay: Let's play catch up. Over the last few months we've been on a hiatus. Apparently, I had a 5 1/2 pound growth in my abdomen that needed to be taken out. I named it Elmo. As of last week, I was able to start rehearsing again and I am so stoked. We've started to write some new material (now don't go pissing yourself with excitement), are rehashing some old material and, get this, we've got an album coming out!!! WE'VE GOT AN ALBUM COMING OUT!! I had to say it twice because it's hard to believe that after three years, we've finally straightened out our shit enough to produce a kick ass EP that we can all be proud of. We're calling it an EP but at this point it might be boasting around 7 songs... The intended release date is April 1st...ish. Let me explain why. We're still broke. We kicked ass last year and built up a bit of a nest egg but after album art, recording and my terrible obsession with vodka and assorted fruit Mentos ( just kidding) we're low on funds...so we're doing something kind of crazy... We're just short of what we need to produce a decent supply of albums so we're offering you a DISCOUNTED pre-sale edition. What the hell does that mean?! Here's the break down: For $5, you get a pre-sale, limited edition CD with four songs: November Life, Silhouettes and two other UNRELEASED songs. You can't and won't be able to get these songs ANYWHERE ELSE. In exchange for buying this pre-sale CD and inadvertently supporting the production of the actual album, we will take your information and send you the CD when it's released in April. Well how do I get this elusive pre-sale CD?! You can buy it right here on our myspace, visit www. theundertone. com or COME TO A SHOW.......but more on that later... Love you all and we're so excited to get 2009 (aka The Year of The Undertone...trust me, I checked my Chinese calendar) started!
