I am working out of state so I will have to miss the St. Louis International Film Festival this year - but three features I worked on are showing:.. Edgar Allan Poe's Ligeia Friday, Nov. 13 Tivoli 7PM http://www.cinemastlouis.org/2009/sliff_films2.html#f19 (I was the 2nd 2nd assistant director)
Game Of The Year Sunday, Nov. 15 Tivoli 9:30PM http://www.cinemastlouis.org/2009/sliff_films3.html#f26 (I edited the small piece that begins the movie)
Saving Grace B. Jones Friday, Nov. 20 Saint Louis Art Museum 7PM http://www.cinemastlouis.org/2009/sliff_films7.html#f63 (I was the key production assistant)
Plenty of other films - but none with my magic touch.

 | The smell of SLFS is in the air - the 9th Annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase kicks off on July 18th and Mr. Chris Grega will be premiering his latest - a mockumentary entitled Game Of The Year - I did a little editing for the film and you know you can't miss that! It starts at 9:00PM at the Tivoli Theater in University City. Also, if you have YET to see it, or even if you have, July 24th will be the red carpet premiere of Pirate Pictures's new film, Shadowland - starting at 6pm, STL TV will be at the Tivoli Theater, doing red carpet interviews with select cast members of Shadowland. Come early and meet & greet the cast of Shadowland, who will be available before the 7:15 show to answer questions, take photos, and sign autographs. Shadowland runs through July 31st and will be presented with Spanish subtitles on July 28th. And you can warm yourself up by catching Shadowland: Beneath The Soil at the 9th Annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase - this behind-the-scenes look at the making of Shadowland might even feature footage of me as the 1st Assistant Director on the film - but don't let that deter you (yuk yuk). This film screens at 5PM on July 20th at the, of course, Tivoli Theater. |

Are the rumors true? Did Aaron just finish directing a feature film?
Mil Mascaras: Aztec Revenge will go down in history as my first feature film. I have been living in Columbia, Missouri since mid-January. During that time, I was employed at Mizzou teaching a class on how to make a feature film. The trick was that we had to actually produce this feature film by the end of the semester. Amazingly enough, and thanks in no small part to a great group of dedicated volunteers, we succeeded and have wrapped principal photography.
There are many notable aspects to this production. First of all, it stars the actual luchador wrestling legend Mil Mascaras. Secondly, to my knowledge, it is the very first feature film shot on Canon's EOS 5D Mark II. Thirdly, this film is a follow up to Mil Mascaras Vs. The Aztec Mummy which is currently playing in theaters across America - see Monogram Releasing for showtimes. Fourthly, did I mention it is my first FEATURE film?
Please visit www.aztecrevenge.com often for updates - and, if you're into the Facebook, check out the film's Facebook group. I am currently headed back to St. Louis to begin the post-production...after taking maybe a tiny break...?
Oh yeah, and this:

Not only will our music video Sorry To Miss The Affair screen on June 21st at Off Broadway (9PM, $7 admission) but it has been selected to screen at the 8th Annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase! It is part of their Shorts Program 1 "Dreamscapes" which shows at the Tivoli Theater at 9:30PM on July 21st! There are also some other fine films that I ( Aaron) worked on screening at the Tivoli Theater as part of this year's Showcase - Shadowland (July 20th, 7PM) and Edgar Allan Poe's Ligeia (July 23rd, 7:15PM) - all ticketing info is available at http://www.cinemastlouis.org/showcase.htmlIn addition to all this, I was proud to work as an editor with 88MM Productions on this year's 48 Hour Film Project - I just learned our film - Through A Dark Lens - has made it into the "Best of" screening, taking place at the Tivoli Theater on June 17th, 7PM. Finally, good friend Brian Jun's debut feature film Steel City, an official Sundance selection, has finally made it to DVD so check it out on Netflix, Amazon, Blockbuster, Ebay, CNN, Yahoo, Google, wherever!

Recently we produced a music video for a St. Louis band - The Rats And People for their song "Sorry to Miss the Affair". It is the first thing we've produced in almost five years. I hope you all will join us at its official premiere party. It's being held at Off Broadway - 3511 Lemp Ave @ Broadway - on June 21st - admission is $7 and the show will feature live performances by Tim Rakel's May Day Orchestra, Theodore (who is also releasing their new LP), and, of course, The Rats And People. The music will start around 9:00PM and I believe we'll screen the music video between each band. If you happen to miss this screening, the music video has also been accepted for screening at the 8th Annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. Dates and times TBA. You can check out more info on the music video here - http://www.rocknrollbacteria.com/projects/stmta.htmThanks! Aaron Crozier
