I know, I know, its been a while. Believe it or not, we have actually been busy over the past bunch of months getting all of our ducks in a row in preparation for the release of the new record. While we know now that the new record, entitled Fools, will be released in March of 2010, we have a bunch of dates planned between now and the holidays where we will be previewing the new album, starting this Saturday in Hamilton.
The artwork for Fools is nearly done, and we should be releasing a new mp3 in the coming weeks as well. Stay tuned, guys. We apologize for the long wait...to us this year has felt like watching paint dry. We're excited to be busy again! Come out on Saturday if you can! Lots of great bands....doors at 9pm...
more news to come very soon..thats a promise.... -adam

Current mood: excited
Tomorrow night marks our first full-band live performance since October, since before we went and recorded our new album. We will be previewing the new album tomorrow...90% of our set will be new songs, never played live before....
I can't say after this show when our next show will be, so if you're in the Toronto area, or are at Canadian Music Week for whatever reason, stop by Sneaky Dee's tomorrow night and say hello! It feels like we haven't seen alot of you in ages! We go on at 10pm sharp. 9 o clock is the Junction, and after us its Hollerado and the one and only Priestess.
stoked! -adam

Its been a while we know. Lots of stuff in the works. First off, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20th we will be playing our annual YMCA fundraising show, only this year its gonna be special. To celebrate the release of our Acoustic EP, we will be doing an all acoustic set with songs spanning the life of the band, including a handful of brand new songs as well. Joining us will be our friends in Saint Alvia, The Junction and Ashley Sloggett, all doing acoustic sets of their own. Its gonna be an awesome night, as well as our only local show for the next while....it would be great to see you all out! Also, FRIDAY, MARCH 13 we will be playing a showcase at Canadian Music week at Sneaky Dee's with Priestess, The Junction and Hollerado. At this show, we're going to be playing mostly new songs off our upcoming full length for the very first time. Sort of like a live album preview of sorts. After that, its back into hibernation while we wait for the record to be released. News on release dates, tracklisting, and title of the album coming soon! Last but not least, we have been nominated for a Canadian Radio Music Award for Best New Group.....even though we're not that new.....well, new to radio people, I guess. see you soon! adam

Wow. What a month... This past month of November has come and gone so quickly I don't even know where to begin. After arriving in Asheville, North Carolina on November 7th, we went right to business recording the new record. I can't say enough good things about the city, the studio and the experience altogether. All I can really say is I'm really stoked we went with Steven Haigler as producer. He was an absolute workhorse. Dude showed up every day ready to give'er and didn't leave the studio until what we set out to accomplish that day was done. We ended up finishing with nearly a full day of recording time to spare, something that is almost unheard of and something that our band has definitely never experienced before.
Everyone at Echo Mountain made us feel like family, and made the whole experience go by without a hitch. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We miss you all and your fine city.
Tomorrow morning Ronson and I leave for Freeport, Long Island first thing tomorrow to join the mixing process that has been underway since Sunday. Its gonna be rad hangin out in NY i think. I'm pretty stoked about it. Ronson and I are gonna wander the city like Norsemen. Big 6'3"Norsemen with thick beards.
Our beards have gotten pretty intense. We all agreed beginning of November we were gonna do "playoff beards" and not trim or shave the things at all until the record is done (december 22). Mine has gotten pretty ridiculous. So has Ronsons. Everyone's pretty much, actually. I can't wait to trim this thing. Im getting food stuck in it. Sometimes to the point where its like....oh, what's that taste? Oh! Its ribs. From 2 days ago...nice.
So yeah. New record is being mixed. Thing will be all done by December 22. In the next week or so, we're gonna release the title of the record, and quite possibly the tracklisting, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we have put together a new video blog of some of the recording that went down in Asheville. Check it out HERE.
talk to you guys soon! -adam

Well that time is finally upon us.
This evening we are embarking on a twelve and a half hour journey to beautiful Asheville, North Carolinato begin recording the new album. We have narrowed it down to 12 songs, and believe it or not, I actually think we're ready. I don't think we've ever been this ready. Its a good feeling.
By this time tomorrow we'll be loading all our gear into Echo Mountain Studios, a 1920's church that has been converted into one of raddest studios around. We'll also be meeting up with Steve Haigler, the man who is producing the record, and the man we will be living with collectively for the next month.
Its going to be like nothing we've ever experienced. We're gonna share it all with you guys via daily journal, photo and video blogs. Head over to THEREASON.CA and check it out daily to keep updated. We have a month to get this thing done. Wish us luck! talk soon...

So we've been practicing hard and working around the clock to get ready for this quick batch of shows, and we're as ready as we'll ever be. Its our first time playing Hamilton or Ottawa since February and we're super stoked to see you guys again! At these shows we're going to be trying out 3 or 4 new songs off of our upcoming record as well as bringing back some old classics. This is Steve's first time in front of a Reason crowd so make sure you say whats up and make him feel welcome, he's been working harder than anyone these past few months. Also be sure to check out the video on the main page of the myspace! We played a little joke on Steve the other day and made it into a pretty decent video blog. This will be the first of many...We're bringing the camcorder to North Carolina with us and filming the entire making of the record as well as other goinz on's. Be sure to check out thereason.ca, as it will be updated almost daily with recording diaries, photos, and videos as we make the new record. See you guys this weekend! -the reason
