So I’ve made some changes to my www.logarhythmik.com website. Pretty simple yes, but much better than what I had going on before and a much easier and useful way (bandcamp) to allow people to download my music while also allowing me to keep in contact with them afterward. Let me know what you think.
I’ve also been working on helping setup a new event called L.A. Underground which I will also be performing at. There’s gonna be 7 plus djs, 3 plus spoken word artists, an art exhibit and it’s all going to be broadcast live online at www.punkrockdemo.com.
The flyer says Deep House/Electro House and I think there will be quite a bit of that but I have a feeling there’s going to be quite a variety of sounds, at least on my part, lol. I’ve kind of thrown out the chiller deep house set I had planned and am gonna do something a bit more upbeat and multi-genre. I might even throw in some original stuff I’ve been working on. I’m gonna try and open some ears and minds and rock it in the process…
It’s all happening at LaBrie’s in Glendale this Sunday evening. I think I go on around 9:30pm with about a 45 min set. We’ll see how it goes and I hope to see you there! Big thanks go to FelixG Productions for helping put this all together.

Happy Thanksgiving and PEACE!

Damn, it's been almost a year since my last post!  Well, like 10 months... I apologize.  A lot has happened in that time.  I've had a relationship end; a job as well.  I've realized I am better off without both.  I've been to and seen a lot of great music including Coachella.  I've DJed some cool partys and worked on a lot of cool tracks.  I've been up, down, had my heart fall out, picked it back up, been stronger for it.  Met some strange people, met some crappy people, met some cool people.  I've traveled and spent time with my friends and family.  Had my life flip from outwardly seeming ideal, but actually being really unhappy and stressed, to it appearing as if everything had fallen apart but yet coming out on the other side happier than before and with the spark of life renewed.  And through it all has been music.  So now I'm putting the last finishing touches on the new album.  It's gonna be called Logarhythmik's Logarhythmix: The Last Days Of Summer and it's got a couple tracks you might have heard (although they've mostly been updated and remixed) before but mostly stuff you haven't.  It's remixes, mash-ups, audio mixtures and sound collages with some original instrumentation and a lot of time and effort added.  It's pretty good and I gotta get it out real soon (it won't be summer soon!).  Actually, it's awesome, I'm just not great at self promotion.  I know this, so... if anyone wants to help me out with promotion and advertising, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks, peace

Well it's done, it happened and history was made before our eyes and because of our choices. I'm really happy, but now the sense of enormity and elation has subsided into a feeling of slight apprehension and uncertainty as to what happens next. We (and He) now have face the enormous problems that have been left for us from the astounding incompetence of the past administration. It's a huge clean-up job and I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. But hey, he wanted the job, and i think he can do it... with our help of course.

So I donated the proceeds for the Bank Sale on the 3rd. If anyone wants to see the receipt confirmation or screen shots I'd be happy to provide. Now I guess I've got to make formal contact with the Cool Kids (the attempt to do an impromptu introduction at their Halloween show was pretty much a debacle and failure but my friend/manager and i did end up getting to catch Cypress Hill for free, lol) and see what they think of it... I'd like to get it properly mastered (I didn't really know what I was doing) and officially released. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Here's some of the more notable blog posts...

Pretty Much Amazing

Going Other Places

Metal Lungies

The Culture Of Me

Captains Dead

The Deli

Radio Free Chicago

Check'em and lemme know what you think of it too. I guess now I've also gotta figure out what my next project is gonna be... Any suggestions?

What up people,

Happy belated 4th of July! I hope all yours went as well as mine as I'm coming off a great week... I've been working on a lot of stuff lately (including building my new quad core computer) but hadn't done a ton of remixing, especially of the more commercial type stuff.

Well, I was tipped off to the Hype Machine site by this dude from an indie label/promotion company (he puts on the HARD shows) that I was talking to. For all my tech savvy I haven't really been up on the music blog scene but lately everything has been coming together, as did the newly posted remix. I heard the horns while my girl was listening to the oldies station, as she likes to, and they blew me away. I did some googling and found the artist and track name, which ended up being kind of a one hit wonder type deal from the late 60s and early 70s.

I just started trying to make a dope beat but then the bpms were pretty close to my newly obtained acapella of the Kanye, Nas, KRS-One track which had originally been produced by Rick Ruben and remixed by DJ Premier with the addition of Rakim. Anyway, I had never felt that either of the productions matched the level of those particular MCs, given their status in Hip Hop. Anyway, I sent the finished product out to some friends and blogs and the response has been overwhelmingly positive with one blog even reluctantly admitting that I had bested Premier and the track peaking at 39 (that I saw) on Hype Machines most popular!

I also spent my 4th DJing at a friend's roof top beach party and it was off the hook! And due to my ineptitude selecting recording input sources it may have actually resulted in a 5+hr long podcast of the mix complete with live crowd noise, electrical problems, girl problems, my buddy dj phanman tearing it up briefly while I pissed and my and other attendee's hilarious commentary (mature audiences only) although we'll see how that goes as I have to fully screen it, as it may only be suitable for limited release, lol. Vamos a ver...

peace

Ahright I haven't done this sh*t in a while... My bad, my bad. And I probly should be asleep right now... But... I'll try and make this one entertaining... And Lotzashitz have happened... Seriously. I dunno. I've been jamming in as much music as possible into my F*in' life and sometimes the blogging gets squeezed the F out... Do you buy it? It's mostly true. That and the fact i really have a bazillion other F*ing things i would rather be doing. This sh*t is tedious for me. WORDS. BLAHHHH!!! F* this sh*t! I wanna do music! (btw... I am currently listening to Deborah Harry - French Kissing In The F'in' USA WHAT? Can one have too much music?) And listen to music! And I've gotten to do a lot of that. I have mucho gratis mp3s f*in' man, but I do support the artists I listen to as much as I F*ing can. I go to a ton of shows and concerts, or at least as many as i can afford to. I guess this is my starving artist period. FCK THE CASH! I MAKE ART! No I'm good... I'm great! I got all the stuff money can't buy. WORD! But about the music, shows, concerts, I've been able to make it to see Del, Morcheeba (What happened to Skyy? Still super impressed), Pete Rock & DJ Premier (Kinda/really disappointed... Pete you an (my) Idol but you still gotta practice/prepare/perform, play more of your own sh*t guys. I came to hear your classics/best shit), and MGMT (kinda lacked energy live, maybe it was the set time?), Kate Nash (she got a little too intense at times), Yo Majesty (F*k that Sh*t, these bad$ss b*tches need better beats though), M.I.A. (kinda, cuz we couldn't get in the tent cuz it was so packed) Mark Ronson (Missed Sam Sparro FYK!), Rilo Kiley (Kinda nice... for girls), Portishead (I wasn't impressed, too dark and uninspiring for me), Glitch Mob (dope dj group with futuristic hip-tronik club-hop stylings), and Prince (little f*er was amazing, absolutely killed it on the guitar solos) all on Saturday of Coachella. That was a great day... I've also been making music and working on my DJing. I'm constantly learning and improving. I did my buddies b-day party and then my company art/talent show thingy along with a short bit of my sh*t. Went F*ing awesome! I still got tons to work on but both were F*ing solid and I don't think I F'ed up tooo bad, lol! Any I've been doing my own music. Quite a bunch but you gotta wait a little bit more... I know the suspense is killing you. Anyway, I gotta go to sleep and f'in work tomorrow and my f'in girlfriend is gonna read this at some point and get retro-activly mad somehow... FCK! LOL! But like i was just telling her tonight, life ain't bad... no, it actually pretty fckin' good! LOL
peace, love, freedom, fun

PS- If anyone other than my girlfriend made it to the end of this blog and actually wants to f'in help let others hear some Logarhythmik, then get at me. I really appreciate any help or support you can offer or any other ways we can collaborate to make and share better art and/or a better world. FCK YEAH!

What up people!

I just posted a new track to kind of celebrate earth day. It's called Unbelievable World and it's just kinda my tribute to this huge, amazing, wonderful, unbelievable piece of matter that we float around the universe on. We all call it home and it gave and continues to give us life. Without it we don't exist. Let start treating it better. Lets treat it with the reverence and care that it truly deserves...

peace

-Logarhythmik

PS- Please gimme feedback on the track. What you like and what you don't. Don't be mean but constructive criticism is always welcomed!

O.K. I posted that last track and never really talked about it. Well made it a couple weeks ago using my newly acquired (don't ask me how) Logic 8 software and basically just stayed up one night trying to learn Logic and came out with that. I did it all in bed with my girlfriend sleeping next to me and I didn't have a midi or my expensive headphones and just used all the royalty free samples and loops provided with Logic and Garage Band. I guess it just goes to show you that you don't really need all that equipment all the time although I gotta admit that Logic is pretty dope. But yeah, I didn't use anything I'd have to clear which luckily turned out to be crucial later on.

A good friend and music collaborator of mine wanted to make a short documentary on Graffiti in D.C and how they're starting youth programs and making designated areas instead of just trying to criminalize it as they did before. (I just posted it. You should check it out below) He asked if he could use some of my tracks in it. I said cool but he wasn't planing on using that track originally, cuz I actually hadn't even made it at that point. But I ended up getting Logic and staying up all night and sticking it up and he liked it and ended up using it. So... he posted it on Current TV and we just found out that it's gonna get picked up and put on national television! So I just faxed the usage contracts today and that's where it would've been a pain in the a$$ if I had to clear samples and stuff and I guess we'll have to see what happen next...? I'll try and let you know when and where to catch it when I know myself. I also originally thought the strings were a bit too low on the track but haven't had a chance to remix it. Let me know what you think... about the track... about the video... about whatever. Oh yeah, I got invited to open for Africa Bambaataa but didn't check my profile in time. SHIT! Anyway, I think I might still be able to set some stuff up and at the very least have to start scheduling some shows/gigs soon. I got the full pro DJ setup now and I'm ready to use it. Get at me if you're in the LA area and want/need a DJ and I'll let you know when I set some stuff up. Also, one last thing I promise, if you know me personally, and are in the area I'm gonna be throwing a house party this Sat night... Wine & 40z - Sophistication vs Booty Shakin'! So, roll through. It's heating up!!
