mike and i have had an f'in ridiculous time on this short run. anathallo has been amazing. half the time i feel like we should be opening for them. thanks to all the freaks in boston for the show, except for that jackass that stole mike's cellphone. that show was by far the highlight so far, so good that mike didn't even care when we found out his cell had been lifted.
lookout for the daytrotter session tomorrow. mike, tommy and i are in davenport tonight, getting up early to record there tomorrow. and the show in chicago on thursday should be a good one. our pals from minneapolis, dark dark dark, are coming down with our pal ghostband. they will be opening the show, first of three, so if you're in chicago, get there early. you don't want to miss their music.
as for the west coast, we'll be there soon. thanks to all of you who have supported us by coming out to these shows.

a lot of folks ask about the live set up, so here it is.... a diagram might be helpful, but i don't have one yet.....
the gear that i use in my live show is thus:
fender rhodes 54 roland juno 106 dr sample 303 3mics (beta 52 for the bass drum, sennheiser 602 for the snare and a e/v 303 for my "floater mic", which i move around to capture different sounds, hi hat, cymbals, glockenspiel, dropping metal objects, etc.)
then....
all of this stuff is run into a mackie 1402 mixer and sent out of the main outs MONO, at which point it passes through these effects:
boss DD5 delay dunlop roto-vibe big muff akai e1 headrush
then it goes into the main loop pedal:
akai e2 headrush
and the signal gets split into pre-loop and post loop, and the post loop is routed through another boss dd5, which is then routed back into the mackie, via the alternate 3/4 send, and then to 2 DI boxes which is all the sound person gets to mix my set.
thats it.
