Im sure a lot of you are wondering why we fell victim to the cliche "cover" song and why we didn't tell anyone about this sooner.  The truth is . . . . we all loved Miley's hit "Party In The U.S.A." and decided we should learn it for fun and put our own spin on it.  We really had no intentions of letting poeple hear it until we finished the recording with a long time friend, Taylor Larson (www.myspace.com/taylorlarsonrecording - Check him out!  He's awesome!).  When he sent us the final track, we knew we had to show people our twist on this song!  We hope you guys can appreciate it, and also hear that the vocals really make the song and we tried to keep all the singing the same (It was difficult, Miley has some pipes!).   Please don't think of us as a band trying to jump on the "cover song fame train" , because our intentions with this song are purely fun and we thought you guys might want to hear it!  Let us know what you think.  :)

Current mood:  adventurous
So this may be a shocker and a mighty big wave in what seemed like the "quiet time" we have been spending home . . .  but we feel obligated to do this!
We our changing our band name to "Life On Repeat".  We know this  might take most people by surprise and even introduce dislike towards us for doing such a drastic thing, but we see it necessary.    You see, Amen The Animal was built on people that are no longer in the band, and haven't been in the band for about two years now!  The only original member left is me!(Andrew) It is just disrespectful to keep something going that was built off totally different ideas and totally different visions of the band.(Not to mention the name literally means nothing to any of us!)
If this displeases you in any way, I think you may change your mind.  I have written a somewhat brief timeline of the band, and how Amen The Animal actually died along time ago.  Please read further for more explanation!

Our first EP was written, recorded, and done in away with in about 4 months. Needless to say it was a good effort, but failed attempt for a debut.  6 out of 7 in the band at that time are no longer in the band now.  Our second EP entitled "My Iron Heart" was recorded with an almost 75% line up change since the release of our first EP. Before it was even released two of the members decided to leave the band  including the vocalist on the cd!  So there we were with finally a decent EP out and half the band was gone . . .needless to say, having a different vocalist than the one on your record can raise a lot of brows.
As you can see our current line up has been solid for almost a year (If you've seen us live it has probably been in the past year because we didn't start touring full time until we reached the line up we have now, which means that you probably don't even care about any of this!).  Our new material still has traces of our past influence but  still something we have never done before.  We realized after 8 member changes (once a 7 piece band, now a 5 piece!) and 4 of them being vocalist,  we were no longer even the same band anymore.  Sure we still played songs off of "My Iron Heart", but that is because we couldn't let that much work go to waste (Yes, you can still purchase "My Iron Heart" on Itunes if it is your cup of tea).  We just do not feel the need to carry along the weight of all this any longer.  Of course none of this really pertains to our occasional listeners, but we thought we should address this properly to people who have been with us all the way, and hopefully will continue to do so with the name change and new material(Rock The Boat, Separation, and The Message Is You will all be carried with us since we wrote those songs with our current / final lineup).  We could really use all the support we can get right now with spreading the word of the name change and getting us back on track.
If you're worried about us not having any shirts on tour due to the name change . . . then you don't really know us at all!  We have a TON of new merchandise which can be bought at our new bigcartel store which will also be up next week or at a show.
On May 7th we formally present to everyone our new name, along with a new layout, new song, new tour, new pictures, new everything!  We hope that all the fans we have gained over the years of relentless touring still see that we are the same hard working band we have always been and will keep creating music  that can only be categorized by us.  We are still writing for a full length and are set to record mid / late summer.  You can catch us at Cornerstone 2009 on the Encore 2 stage and also on an east coast tour with Belson  (www.myspace.com/belsonnc) in July!

Please keep your rock fist pumping,                                                           - Andrew and Life On Repeat.

P.S. - Other big news on the way ;)
