My gig was watching Jonah Hill. From a distance, that is; I was in
hidden surveillance. He hung out at an intersection in the city, with a
brownstone at one corner, an art deco skyscraper at the next, a small
copse of bamboo -- in which I'd encamped myself -- opposite from the
brownstone, and a white brick industrial building at the other. At the
bottom floor of the skyscraper were the comic book store and sub shop
Jonah liked to hang out at. He was talking to Seth Rogen, who stood on
a black metal balcony on the second floor o the white brick industrial
building. I couldn't hear them but I could see the laughs. I could also
see Seth startle, stand straight up, and point as the four ninjas
swooped out of the shadows and snatched poor Jonah. Read More >>

LA has a major clothing industry (à la American Apparel) and everyone
here dresses snappy-like, so I probably should've been to the Garment District1
more than two times since I came out here. There was that one time
during college, when I think I expected to get some actual everyday
clothes there and was, instead, baffled by the cheap t-shirts and
couture. I also went on Saturday, to meet my extremely talented friend
and walk around and shoot for a few hours. Because, you know,
photography's like everything else; the more you do it, the better you
are at it. Read More...

You may have noticed I haven't posted here a lot recently. Umm, sorry.
I do feel bad; I miss my old digs here! But, you see, I think there's a
lot conspiring against ol' Juniorbird.com. Part of this is changes in
my life; part is changes in the Web. I have a feeling there need to be
some changes around here soon, and I'd like your input. Read More >>

Sorry I've been so bad at posting lately -- between a new job and a new
project (watch for it to launch in a few weeks to a couple of months!)
I haven't had the time I should to get on the ol' Juniorbird.com. Which
is also my way of saying that I may not post so much for the next few
months either. Of course, the corrollary is that, the more you do, the
more you do, so you may see more from me here.1 But I do have something for you, something special from the cruise.

We were playing a three-way game of hockey -- us, the Finnish national
team, and the Swedish national team, that is. With only two ends to the
ice, we'd switch one team out when enough goals were scored against
them. Except those darned Swedes never seemed to get scored on -- they
had their strategy down, and Wayne Gretzky in goal.

I like vacations. I'd actually kind of forgotten about that, but I like them. So I've tried to take more lately.
Cruises had popped up on our radar a few months ago; prices have been
dropping dramatically as cruise lines have desperately tried to keep
bookings up. Looking around for things to do for Valentine's Day, a
4-night Carnival cruise to Catalina and Ensenada was actually so cheap
as to be competitive with a nice dinner out. So I bought my honey one.

OK, I rarely do the meme thing, but, what the heck, the first step to writing more is: writing more. So, therefore, I will write this!

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

So, I'm a little behind this year -- usually I have my resolutions up
in the first week of the year or so. Frankly, one of my problems lately
has been commitment to blogging, and I was slow getting to this post
because of that. Well, I bet that shows up on my resolutions! So, on to the usual format.

One of the finest drinks out there is the Martini. I'm not talking about the modern version, ordered by the sleek and hip in clubs and bars out there, which is nothing but a triple shot of very cold vodka; I'm talking about a proper Martini, with enough Vermouth to provide, you know, flavor. But sometimes that Martini's just too harsh, and you want something a little fruity -- not too sweet, just a little fruity. That's the L'il Bit.
