CLOAK-N-DAGGER

Monday, November 26, 2007

Ayo, I love how my kids smell.

I love when they're all over me and sit up next to me chillin' on the couch. all 3 of'em. my 2 girls are just about 9 and 7. my boy is almost 5. aint nuttin' like real love. real appreciation. we all need that payback, you know.? my babies trust me to do what's right... or atleast what's good so to even think i've let them down in any way is to feel like i've lost my soul. to feel a total void. an emptyness. that's why i would never let my babies down. ever. i aint talking about spoiling'em. im talking about dieing to myself for them. some might call it cliche' or becoming "homogenized", but i realize i'm a human being. and our first instinct is to serve ourself. that mentality got real old for me about 10 years ago. seems like i'm in the minority tho. not that i'm judging, but i see what's around me. around us. that's why i'ma always be on point.

so i aint stressin over the homie who got famous and aint lookin back (no, not that guy). or the friend(s) who i was there for when his girl left him for another dude, but can't spare a moment of thought to understand why my time is so valuable. and i especially aint stressin over this rap game or the phantom projects all these "real" emcees have going on. buhleedat! so for the few seconds in life you think you're important, or you got some game, or an opportunity over someone else just remember you have to get up the next day and play the same role you played the day before to get to that spot. and we know you don't do so well under pressure, my friend.

sooooo....

do what you love. don't love what you do. and me? i git money. i git love. i git soundscan. but more importantly...

i get to smell my kids everyday.

like i said... aint nothing like it.

Pass the chicken nuggets!

Peep the new songs up in the player!!!

Off the new album
Back to Dust!
Available Oct. 9th 2007. Please support this record.

Far Cry feat. Elias (Scribbling Idiots)
Sometimes things don't work out the way we plan and we have to work with
what we have. Some dreams don't pan out, some of us are born with physical
disabilities and ask the question "why me".

Let It Go feat. LMNO (Visionaries)
We live in a world where up is down and down is sideways. Nothing is what it seems.
Can't believe a word in the news, can't believe product ads and can't even conceive
of the things we see on our streets... but it's all really there. We're being fed fear and lies in
every direction... Let It Go.

One more thing...
And also posted from the 2005 Slow Burn album I've posted up a really dope cut -  Line Life.
One of the most well received songs I've written. That album is also available here on myspace.

Aint nuttin' like good hip hop music.
