After a sabbatical of nigh on 6 months, the family friendly, side splitting hilarity that is(n't) Top Of The Pods is due to return to the interwebs this June.
When asked why they had been away so long, Robberto, 43 from Petersborough England replied, "Since early 2006 I have been wondering where Tel Aviv is. I thought it was in Spain. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Jon was moving to Tel Aviv. Finally I would be able to find out where it is. I had no idea it was in Israel. It's taken me until now to figure out that israel isn't in the southern state of Georgia USA and is in fact in the Middle East. Now my only question is if the earth is round where exactly is the middle?"
Jonny, 53 from Tel Aviv, Spain added, "You know Rob, it takes ages to explain him anything, plus with the A.D.D. it took me 6 months to remember who Rob was. Who are you anyway?"
Top Of The Pods returns this June with an all new, side splittingly hilarious season of utter b*llocks, loosely based around the idea of top ten lists.
UK Podcast Top Of The Pods brings you hilarious top 10 lists complete with inaccurate off tangent banter, with themes from the obscure to the damn right bandwagon popular. England's own Jonny and Roberto bring you top tens from listeners all around the world. Join in by emailing topofthepods@gmail.com with your lists, feedback, opinions, ideas, pictures and audio comments.
Top Of The Pods was born in a pub in 2005 and was the accidental brain hemorrhage of (in alphabetical order) Roberto Dolby and Jonny Grooves.

Current mood:Well fucking made up.
So yeah, it's been some time since I last put anything in here, like. But hey, I been a bit busy recently.
I'm still down in the Bog Smoke 3 days a week working at PodShow, which is really rather cool. I've spent the last 4 years throwing together web sites for the most uninspiring business's that anyone could ever imagine. Yes, a means to an end, as they say. But unfortunately creatively suicidal. Thank Rob for for PodShow.
Finally some interesting work. I spent the last two and a half days walking round London taking pictures of Graffiti and Flyposters getting creative food for the project I've been working on. How cool is that. Paid to go out and enjoy the urban landscape. Only downside is I almost put my foot in tramp pooh behind a parked car. Well I suppose its a good thing rather than a bad thing, I mean I didn't actually stand in it, did I? Problem is I did see it and unfortunately I did smell the offensive turd also.
So I guess creatively, things are pretty damn good. On the 'UDS' side of things, I seem to be getting some interesting leads which I can only put down to the SEO on my web site. What's with all the eNewsletter quotes people are asking for? Cool yes. HAve I got time? Well, not really, but that's what the nights are for, right?
Then to top it all, the office gets this phone call from some dutch lady asking for the business details and me wife takes a message and doesn't really get the accent. So I'm like no worries, I'll check the email she says she has sent. So I see it and reply and then 20 minutes later I get a NDA through from Phillips (you know the electrical dudes) and a username and password to their supplier web portal. Looks like Phillips want us to do some creative for them. How cool is that? Only like the second bit of coolest news this year (first bit of cool news was me boss telling me I have an extended contract at PodShow).
So for me this year is going mental. A good mental. But mental all the same.
Oh, I also entered a competition last week for me cousin - she's a Med student and she needed to do this poster thing. So she got me the text and stuff and I laid it all out for her and we kinda played around with it and then sent it off.
1. the printer girl apparently was cracking onto me (I'm so blind) 2. She pretty fit apparently (not a case of still having it - more of a case of discovering it) 3. We won 2nd prize. 4. Second prize was £250
A good omen, I'm thinking. I just entered another competition today run by CBS Outdoor. Its a campaign to promote tube cards (the ads inside the tube carriages). basically you win a trip to new york and the winning creative going as a live campaign across the tube network. Myself and a very good friend of mine entered and we did some pretty cool stuff. My fingers are crossed as I wouldn't mind a stint in New York.
Well. I guess that's it for now. I'm moving next month to London - my family are moving to Israel. Big changes and sad changes too. But a year in the big city will send me to Israel next year with some pound notes in me pocket ready for the big exchange to the mighty shekel. I'll miss em, but hey, what did they invent air travel and skype for? Exaclty. Long commute? Yeah a bit, but what a laugh.
I just wish Rob was as happy as I am.
Cheer up Rob, I'm the man on the inside. Tell me what you need and I'll make it so.
Peace out. Jonny

Current mood: creative
Well my good mate Robbo stuck my name forward for a freelance contract the other day and as from a couple of weeks ago, I now work full time at Podshow. So that's now both of us from Top Of The Pods hanging out with those yankee dudes producing podcast content. I thought it would be pretty cool working with Rob again as it has been ages since we worked together. However, it seems that Rob thinks I stink or something as his one day a week in the office has now disappeared and i don't see him at all. No worries though, it's nice to be working in the Big Smoke that is London and working on some creative work that isn't the usual Fenland client promoting carrots, onion, turnips and potatoes. So far so good. London Rocks. I get off and that city's groove maaan. I guess the only down side is that holding a full time contract and balancing my own clients requirements means I am usually working til around 3-5am every other day. Ahhh, still, who cares. I'm having a blast. So Podshow until Xmas and then we see what happens. I'm thinking it would be pretty cool to have the contract renewed as although the office is dead quite cos everyone is flat out all the time, it sure beats sitting in an office alone all day working on turnip ads. Plus they seem to be a right load of off the wall creatives each with their own nuances that I love to be around. There is another downside too - Top Of The Pods is suffering somewhat, but we'll kick out the jams pretty soon. Using the time in London to do a little networking too and have already picked up a very cool client who is turning out to be quite lucrative and could lead to more London based work. Sound. Oh, and being at Podshow also opened me to a right rocking band that are like my top band of the year just based on one song and one song alone... Whiz over to Flyposter and play any of the shows to listen to the opening track. Total Podshow plug I know, but this song is in my head just all the time. Oh and tell me who does it as I'm just too busy to find out! Anyway, that's it I guess... Jonny

Hey, it's been 2 months since our last show which might have something to do with the fact tht Rob has been well, like, real busy and I have been out of the country for 6 weeks. Well I am back as of a few weeks ago and rob's workload had finally let up a bit and last night we recorded a new show. Cool. Maybe up later, but def. by the end of the week.

Current mood: awake
it's 2am and i am in israel on my holiday. this year saw an interesting time at stansted airport where i was singled out from about 400 travellers to be escorted to a little room where i thought i may be violated. luckily they just confiscated all my stuff and left me with just my ticket and my mobile and psp. everything else was taken for examination which meant that robbo had to talk me through the GTA4 trailer as he was watching it. Also had a funny conversation with Scott from the Nightnurse show and after they had flaked out on my I was left listening to the the kooks all night while I waited for my 2 and a half hour late flight. last time I ever fly Israir. They are shocking. Shit food, the worst seats in the entire world of travel and they sat me next to the most stinking greebo punk that they could have found.
Still, I am here now and the holiday of passover has started. I hate passover. No beer, no bread, just stupid crackers all the time.
luckily i went out last night before the holiday and found myself the biggest laffa and shawama I could find.
thank god for broadband - as soon as i had gotten all the hellos out of the way and the hugs and kisses for my wife and daughter out of the way too I headed over to the broadband access point and plugged the macbook in and loaded the gta4 trailer. Incredible. I thought I was excited about san andreas when I first saw the trailer, but thiis is something else. I so am buying a PS3 the secong gta4 hits the streets.
i spent all day in bed today as I am ill. I get to my holiday and get ill immediately. typical. my throat feels like I am swallowing razor blades and my ears were aching like, wel, something that aches a lot. so as a result i am so not tired and am now watching dodgy israeli tv and surfing the net.
been a while since I posted on here, so I guess maybe I'll do a little more often, but you know me, maybe I won't.
Tomorrow I am going to the beach. ahhhh. I love the beach. some time to be with nature and perhaps use this time to instill some silence into my life. stop my brain from ticking for a while.
right, sod this, I'm off to internet land. bye.
