The main difference between Hip Hop and Funk is the fact that Funk uses real players, and virtually no samples to play all the parts and Hip Hop uses samples and loops to create their musical backdrop. Usually Funk players like Rock players practiced instruments in their bedrooms for long hours and learned how to play in key and improvise. That is the main difference. I ain't hatin on Hip Hop at all..it's all good, but you gotta give credit where credit is due, to those that spent long hours learning how to play instruments and learned how to sing harmonies and melodies while playing those instruments.
