Presale info for North American shows

Presale tickets for most of the shows will be available on September 9, 2009 at 11:00AM (North American . Eastern Standard Time). Presale link to go live on http://www.theswellseason.com/tour/ at that time.Presale is for a limited time ONLY!

- Presale ticket password can be found on the individual show links below.

- Presale tickets limited to 4 per customer.

- Presale tickets for all shows are subject to specific WILL CALL ONLY restrictions. Will call only tickets may only be picked up at the venue box office by the ORIGINAL PURCHASER on the evening of the performance. In order to pick up tickets you will be required to provide a government-issued photo ID and the credit card used to make the purchase. Please note that these tickets are non-transferable. Please plan accordingly before purchasing. While this policy makes gifting of tickets more difficult, it also greatly cuts down on the number of tickets that end up in the hands of scalpers, helping ensure that fans are able to purchase tickets.

Czech singer Marketa Irglova and Irish musician Glen Hansard won hearts with their critically acclaimed film, 'Once,' and the Oscar-winning hit, 'Falling Slowly.' As the Swell Season, the two have played sold-out shows all over the world. Despite all their successes, Hansard admits that he and Irglova are recognized on the street more but make sure to be true to themselves. "When you're shocked to your core with the success of an award like that, I think you have to really look into yourself and look into your roots and look at how grounded you are," Hansard tells Spinner. "And don't resist [success]. Just go with it."

And now the Swell Season is back with 'Strict Joy' -- a new collection of crooning ballads and heart-melting love songs. "For me, it's just an audio diary," Hansard admits. "It's just another installment of the life we lead."

Hansard reveals 'In These Arms' -- today's featured track -- stemmed from a small idea that just walked into the studio one day and grew into love song about trust and faith in another person. "Sometimes you're just meant to commit to someone's life, and you're meant to go through all these experiences," Hansard says. "But it's all good because it's all part of something that's already been written."

TSS merch sale and late summer gig dates

Our Chicago folks are moving office and need to lighten the load. So there's a sale going on at the TSS merch store, stop in and check it out.

Also Claire has announced some TSS Irish tour dates for late this summer:

"first touring dates to support the forthcoming album.... we all want to start here in ireland before going anywhere else....so, we're going to. these dates will pretty much be on sale as of today or tomorrow from their box offices direct. im sure you can all google and find them - but - to give you the heads up here they are:

AUGUST
18th millenium forum derry
21st wexford opera house
23rd cork everyman palace theatre
24th glor theatre, ennis, clare
26th national concert hall, dublin
supports to be announced. the new swell season album featuring the frames will see a release date late september worldwide - but - if we dont tour ireland first and upfront, we're possibly not going to get home to do so for quite some time - so it seems like a good idea to go for it sooner rather than later. these will be seated, theatre shows with the full band of glen, mar, rob, graham, colm and joe. expect new songs and of course some oldies and middle aged ones too :0) cx"

just a quick note... if you're in Dublin this year be sure to get over to Whelan's, they are celebrating their 20th year serving the music to the people and will be hosting an amazing roster of musicians, current and from days gone by.
