PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2009

RE:  WYATT releases ‘RIDE ON' to radio nationally

SASKATOON
:  The award winning Saskatoon band WYATT released their highly anticipated follow up single ‘Ride On’ to Canadian Country Radio September 21st, 2009.  Co-written by Gordie Sampson (Carrie Underwood) and produced by Noah Gordon (Johnny Reid, Emerson Drive, Jason Blaine), RIDE On is proof positive that the band has been working tirelessly writing & recording in preparation for an early 2010 album release.

Says singer-guitarist Scott Patrick, “Our new single Ride On is a great song about grabbing life and living it. Working with Noah as a producer to help refine and shape our sound has been an incredible experience, but working with him as a songwriter has really allowed us to grow as artists.  That growth is clearly evident with the release of their new single "RIDE ON"; a melodic, hook laden song that states unequivocally that there is a new group in Canada ready to make waves on the air!

WYATT is releasing their new single fresh off of the success of their debut single ‘Next To You’ which was released in March 2009.   “We are really grateful for the support we have received from Canadian Country Radio and from our fans.   We are fortunate to be where we are at this point in our careers, and we really have them to thank for being a huge part of our success to date.  It has been a great ride so far.”  says drummer Bray Hudson.

Fans of WYATT can request RIDE ON at Canadian Country radio stations starting September 21st, 2009.  They can catch a preview on-line at www.wyattmusic.com or on the band’s official MYSPACE page at www.myspace.com/wyattmusic2

RE:   Canadian rock-country band WYATT experience at ....Big.. ..Valley.... Jamboree an eye-opener.

BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE, ....Camrose.., ..AB....:
When WYATT came off stage at the Big Valley Jamboree on.Saturday night, it wasn’t to thunderous applause, but to the thunderous roar of the massive windstorm that devastated the festival site.  The band was readying to do a sound check on the Molson Saloon Stage for their performance later that evening when the storm hit.

According to drummer Bray Hudson, “We were about to start the sound check when stage manager Chuck Eaman ordered us to clear the stage and get all our gear into the storage wing at stage left.   We didn’t even get that far.  Chuck and I were pushing the drum riser towards that tent when it felt like someone came and tried to pick up the stage!”  Singer, guitarist Daniel Fortier adds, “I remember putting a couple of guitars into the tent, grabbing some more gear and was just headed back when I saw a huge wall of wind and dust hit the stage, ripping that 20’x20’ tent right off the stage deck.   Our bass player ..Cam.. and singer/guitarist Scott were in the tent with the stage host Paul and as I yelled ‘LOOK OUT’, the entire tent tore loose and swept across the stage, scattering people and equipment across the stage and into the pit.   The guys underneath were very lucky to only get away with some bumps, bruises and scrapes.   We were fortunate that we were not still at the mic’s when that happened, or we would have ended up taking that eight foot drop into the pit.”  The damage to the second stage included losing its complete left wing tent and the canvas roof.  The PA system and backline gear on the left hand side of the stage toppled forward off the stage.

“I have never experienced something as powerful as this.” Says bassist Cam Ewart.   “I remember walking back out to the stage to grab some of the gear.  The next thing I knew, I was knocked to the stage as the side tent blew in. I stood up and ran off the stage area to our trailer behind the stage.  Driven by adrenalin, we ran back out after a few seconds to save our gear that was scattered across the stage. As we brought things down from the stage, we looked over at where the main stage had been - that four-story stage was down.  It had just collapsed in on itself.  Our first thoughts were shock and concern for the musicians, technicians and fans that were at the stage.  Having been there and seeing the damage first hand, I am incredibly thankful that there were not more people hurt or killed.  It had the potential to be SO much worse.  It was a very surreal experience.”

The stories the band heard throughout were incredible and inspiring.   Stories abound of audience members with emergency medical skills jumping onto the main stage to support the paramedics, a technician who actually rode one of the stage towers down to the ground as it fell, and the incredible efforts of the Big Valley Jamboree staff and volunteers who reacted immediately and with precision to the emergency.   According to singer-guitarist Scott Patrick, “The festival site looked like a war zone, but the evacuation of the grounds and the response of the Big Valley Jamboree organizers was swift and effective.   Everyone was involved, even the telephone companies who took down service except for emergency crews and radio stations giving up to date information about the incident and informing people who had not heard from loved ones about the situation.   The music fans who supported the evacuation effort and of course the many volunteers who were on site.  We would like to thank the Festival organizers and the volunteers who ensured that this incident didn’t spiral out of control to the point that even more injuries occurred or more lives were lost.”

WYATT is a high-energy 4-piece rock-country band based out of ....Saskatoon.....  They are: Scott Patrick (Guitar/Vocals), Daniel Fortier (Guitar/Vocals), Bray Hudson (Drums), Cam Ewart (Bass).
