We just got back from a very fun tour of La Belle Province. Opened for L'il Andy and the Kareoke Cowboys in Montreal as well as a band that we both found out have blood lines with the John Henrys. NQ Arbukle from Toronto features the songwriter and frontman Neville Quinlan (hence the NQ) and we have Darryl Quinlan on bass. Turns out they are related (you can tell by their spaced out eyes). Who knew that country music was so incestuous!?! Both those bands were on fire that night and we enjoyed the free sandwiches. Notable hero to Geoff who found two large pizzas and complimentary french fries at four in the morning.
In Levis QC, we partied with locals and played a two hour set. With the Chateau Frontenac shining upon us, we had a blast learning about the powers of Journey and what makes Dream Theatre the greatest band in the world. We were able to try out some new tunes (as well as ones that have been stuck in the vault for over two years) and a possible new album could be shaping up. Thanks to Dominique at the Pub Levisien who made sure we were well fed and had enough drinks to challenge all the locals at fooseball. Will definitely return as it was one of the best looking cities we've played - it will forever be known as Christmas Town.
The next night found us back in Ottawa at our new home Irenes with one of our newest favorite bands The Sick Fits - not solely because they have some of the best looking fans, but they also shook things up with fantastic rock oddities! We had a blast and are always very pleased and surprised at the amount of people that show up to sign along. Thanks to Jeff for the sound and having such a pretty smile.
Coming up next will be a southern ontario tour that hopefully will find us in Peterborough, Toronto, Hamilton and somewhere in between.
