Current mood:Pondrous (not Ponderous nor Ponderosa)
Category: Life
Anyone who knows me and knows I'm doing this Camino, this is for Youse to see where I am and what I'm doing. The rest of ye? I just don't know? What yez even doing here traipsing around on the internet? Get Out and Play in the Sun. Divils.

On crossing the pond.
I was supposed to take off today, hit the high seas in a ship called after an Irish Saint, meet the mother in the gap going out. Herself coming in from Wales. Her sister in tow. A little holiday for two Irish Mammys jaunting round the 'ould sod' together. What happened could be the truth or I might be making it up for me own amusement as I need to amuse meself tonite, and to say truth is stranger than fiction is just an over played cliche because truth is stranger than anything all the imaginations in the world thrown together could come up with. But I Swear to tell the Truth the Hole Truth & nothing but etc...  Basically I'm still here, in Ireland my Ireland. (That's why I'm writing this blog I suppose, cos I'm still here!?). My boat came in from France only to keep going straight to Dublin. The wind was up today and it couldn't dock in Rosslare. So..? What to do? what to do? 'When's the next bloody boat' I asked some desk stick... It's Pat Van Karsens birthday (Paddy Cloggs has been walking 6 weeks now, all the way from Rotterdam, what a man for a cigar toting God of the Feet!) Paddys birthday is on wednesday and I have to meet him in Brienne-Le-Chateau (accidentally happens to be Napoleons Alma Mater) .. And now...???  Ans. 'Next boat is tomorrow at 20.00'. Feck says I ..I still Might make it.. train straight to Gare de l'Est... etc.. But no!!! NON.  NON. NON. Somebody in a suit somewhere decided that no foot passengers are allowed on that sailing!! Strictly cars, campers. lorries etc.. I argued with them about people who are prone to motor bike fetishes, but they considered motor bikes to be vehicles too so even feckin bikers get on!!. Then a brainwave struck me.. I'll just go pretend to be nice to a lorry driver and he can put me in his lorry and I can then be in a vehicle and avoid the foot passenger label. I eventually found an Irish lorry driver who would open his window and chat to me to be told 'Sure all the lads are shittin' themselves'!!.
I was flabbergasted! and 'all the lads are shittin' themselves!' too! The drivers wont let anyone in for a lift anymore under any circumstance. Even large amiable females. Modern times, drugs, terrorists, refugee stowaways 'all that kinda shit'. So there was nothing for it but to accept the Almighty Will of God and wait for the next boat. But for now back to Rosslare as me Mammys boat was dockin' and we could at least give her and Aunty Mary an unexpected welcome. But no, neither did this simple feat manage to make itself occur. Astoundingly, the big door of the ship wouldn't open and anyone who wasn't a foot passenger had to wait for the big door to open to get their vehicles out (even motor bikes). So we stood on the cement and watched Mammy and Aunty Mary wave at us from the passenger deck, all the while trying to avoid steaming lorry drivers and children bawling their lungs out. After an hour or so I came away and left them to it. I was told they'd ring me as soon as they were released from the boat. It's now 3 O'Clock in the morning and I've heard nothing. I hope they are not all stuck on the boat still and that they got the big door open in the end everyone disembarked their persons and motors.
I try again to cross to Roscoff this wednesday 17.00 hours. Let's hope all the boats' things work this time. Now it'll be probably Bar-sur-Aube for the meet and I'll miss Paddy Cloggs birthday. That is fucked. Here's to legs and feet y del rosario de mi madre. I might wright another blog, you'd never know. Once the pain in me legs is gone anything could happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not into most of the blogs I've read. Maybe it's just me. Methinks 'tis a bit much and OTT. So I can't say if I'll ever need one. But if you go on to the Wexfordsongclub space you can read what I write about some of the weekly gigs I organise. More a newsletter than a blog though so...
