"Until the absolute value system used by countries engaged in the war on terror is replaced by an internally referenced, subjective honor system that demands the allies meet their own highest standards of moral behavior, the war against terrorism cannot be won."

You know you are stressed when:

You acheive a "runner's high" merely by sitting up.

    Don't be a tool.

Conformity and social acceptability is the natural enemy of the free mind.

    Stop caring.

Change your auto-response from "I don't know" to "I'll figure it out."

Accept that sometimes stumbling in the dark is the only way to find the light switch.

    Realize most fears are illusory.

    Stop betraying yourself.

Think for yourself and question authority. Don't believe anything that doesn't agree with your own common sense.

Freedom is a state of mind.

From the moment we're born we're taught to behave a certain way, follow certain rules and do certain things to fit in. Our authentic mind is broken and we essentially become domesticated.

Contrary to popular belief, freedom isn't given freely. It is not something passed out at birth. You'll never be free unless you unabashedly proclaim it within.

OK, I know: Paris for President?

BUT: It seems that her environmental/economical proposal shows that she's a bit more in touch than either of the 'viable' candidates.

Paris for President!

Yeah, I said it.

If a picture's worth a thousand words, then what's a picture of a thousand words worth?

I just bought a bag of lollipops (it's always a good idea to keep candy in the office) the other day and had little inclination to consider that I may have just picked up a cellophane wrapped smart-aleck.

Somedays.....

You get a big bag of lollipops.

Other days...

You get the stick and the wrapper.

Kinda like life, huh?

Too often I hear/read an editorial comment that's so satisfying I can actually taste it.

For too long, government has shown an inability to the very thing that is expected of homeowners on a daily basis - live within our means. Rather than make tough decisions in tough times, and (thankfully) without the federal option of printing more money, local governments have found themselves unable to resist dipping into the pockets of their constituents. If one person does it to another, it's called robbery. When the government does it, it's called taxation.

While wandering aimlessly, as I sometimes do, I came upon an interesting story. Keep Your Fork is a quick story, but heavy with wisdom. A dying woman, while making 'final' preparations for herself, requested of her Pastor that she be buried with a fork in her right hand. She goes on to recount a childhood memory: At potluck dinners, when dishes were being removed from the table, she would be reminded to 'keep her fork' becuase there was sure to be a velvety cake or other desert served shortly.

As the Summer Solstice draws near and the darkness of Winter looms in the distance, I'm quite stilled by the thought of 'there's something good coming next.' I know that where I am now is better than where I was, so the idea that where I'll be can be even better than where I am now, well... there's not much need to be afraid of the future, eh?

Blessed be,

My Result: Apollo

Apollo is a god of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry, and the arts; and more. Apollo is the son of Zeus, and has a twin sister, the chaste huntress Artemis.

Deforestation of Caribou range in Canada.

I was not completely aware of the North American Rain Forest - It may be too little, too late, now.

This is one of those 'do something small' ideas: just write an email. Nothing huge or grandiose; just a little note of concern or a promise to redirect your 'voting' dollar. You know, 'something small.' We all can do something small, right? Like maybe leaving a blog or something.....

"Well, no one else was doing it."
- Oh, and heaven forbid that you would be the first?

Do something small....
