Marcos Curiel is officially back on guitar in P.O.D.! The band will play their first performance together since nearly four years on December 31st at the New Year's Eve Party at Times Square, New York City. See a photo of the re-found group here (together with manager Tim Cook, missing Jason Truby, who was home with his family in Little Rock, Arkansas). The photo was taken last week on Catalina Island.
Additionally, P.O.D. have just signed a new record deal with details to be announced soon!
For me personally, having run the German-Warriors.com website for many years before, this very news are just what I was always hoping for and - even more - had been my first initial thoughts when Truby came into P.O.D. - how great it would be to have both, Marcos and Truby, play together in the band! So this news are making me more than a happy man today, proving why my P.O.D. posters with Marcos on them always remained on the walls over the years. HalleluJah! :-)

Bands On Fire presents you the official bonus track of the European re-issue of The Showdown´s "A Chorus Of Obliteration"! Originally released in 2004 through Mono Vs. Stereo, the album now finally got released in Europe on November 6th through Century Media.
The featured track, entitled "Give Us This Day", was recorded in 2005 with producer Paul Ebersold (3 Doors Down, Saliva), after the band had already released "A Chorus Of Obliteration" and before they got in the studio with Ebersold again to record the upcoming new album "Temptation Come My Way"!
"Temptation Come My Way" will be out in the US on February 20, 2007 through Mono Vs. Stereo and through Century Media in Europe as well! Check out our past The Showdown news posts below and then listen to "Give Us This Day" if you haven´t yet. "Git Snake Bit"!!

The Showdown have posted a brand new song at their MySpace page, called "Give Us This Day". The song was produced by Paul Ebersold (3 Doors Down, Saliva) and will be on the international re-mastered release of "A Chorus Of Obliteration" coming out in Europe on Feb. 26 through Abacus! Another un-released new song that was not on the album, called "Breath Of The Swamp", can be heard on this tour e-card!
Make sure to listen for the long growl in "Give Us This Day" at the 3:00 mark! This is for a nice Heavy Metal Christmas present! : )

The Showdown´s debut album "A Chorus Of Obliteration" will now finally be released in Europe by Century Media. The initial planned release through Abacus Recordings earlier this year fell through as the European division of Abacus had to be closed down because of financial reasons. The album will now be in stores in Europe on November 6 as a re-mastered version, including an exclusive bonus track called "Give Us This Day" and an enhancement with the music video for the song "Iscariot"!
The band also just got out of the studio recording their second full-length "Temptation Come My Way", which is now to be mixed by engineer JR McNeely (Relient K, Underoath, Demon Hunter) and will eventually be released in the US on February 20 through Mono Vs. Stereo!

Today exactly five years ago P.O.D.'s multi-platinum selling album "Satellite" saw its release in America. On 9-11-2001, the exact same day we all know as the day the horrible terrorist acts in New York City took place and the World-Trade-Center, after having been attacked by two hijacked airplanes, collapsed in itself burying 2,600 people. Not forgetting the other victims at the attacks of the Pentagon and in Shanksville the same day.
It surely was no coincidence that P.O.D.'s album was released on this very day. Even more mind-blowing the fact that the album originally was supposed to come out on August 28th, but then got pushed back two weeks from its orginal release date, to September 11!
After its release "Satellite" went triple platinum in the US, selling over 4 million records worldwide. A highly successful album not only because of its music but even more because of its divine lyrical content, full of prophetic words and genuine truth.
In rememberance of the victims of 9-11.

We�re very very grateful to have had the opportunity to say goodbye to you in such great environments! The shows were simply amazing...
