Lawson Carroll of Velvetbox does acoustic shows ~ on stilts ~ in Subways ~ for the first leg of the "Life is a Subway" tour.  (dates posted below)

The "Special Limited Edition Sampler", t-shirts, posters, the new Velvetbox line of fashion ~ including new Velvetbox panties and all other merch will be available for purchase!

Lawson Carroll was recently appointed an "O Ambassador" by Oprah Winfrey and therefore, one dollar from each purchase will go to the O Ambassador program.   oprah.com

Dear friends!!!

Velvetbox has been working tirelessly on the new cd!!!  Who needs sleep anyway, right?  We can't wait to share this with you and see you again soon!!

And...we have a special treat for you right now!!!! 

...Because we are so honoured to have developed such an trusting relationship with all of our friends and fans...we want to have you in on the ground level with us!!

We have demoed loads of songs that could make the final cd and have posted some here for you to review.  And...we would like you to pick the tracks that you think should be included for sure!!!

Velvetbox fashions are coming soon!!!!!

Stay tuned for some sketches by the extraordinary fashion designer, Jana Hanzel!!!  Jana and I have teamed up and will be presenting our new and exciting line to the world soon!! 

We are also designing a truly decadent fashion show that has been inspired by Velvetbox music...so we are stoked!!!!  You're gonna love it!!!!  And of course...we'll be taking the whole thing on tour very soon!!!!

It is with great pleasure that Velvetbox Incorporated announces that Fergal Lawler, the phenomenal Irish drummer from the Cranberries, is joining popular Canadian musical group, Velvetbox.

Lawson Carroll, singer of Velvetbox and Mr. Lawler have been communicating through Myspace, Facebook and email over the past several months discussing particulars surrounding this venture.

Carroll, originally a Newfoundlander with Irish heritage, now lives in Canada's capital city of Ottawa, Ontario.  He has built an all-star lineup also featuring Phil White on bass, and Daryl Deskin on guitars, both from the ultra sauve Montreal band, 'Brighton'.

When reached for comment, Lawler said, "Lawson, Phil and Daryl are excellent musicians.  I love the power and melody in the songs, and I cannot wait to play them live.  I am delighted with the direction we're headed and am very proud to be a member of Velvetbox."  And to solidify that the feeling is mutual, Carroll stated, "We are truly honoured to be working with Fergal.  He is a very talented musician with an exquisite touch, who can also when required, play his drums into the ground!"

As momentum grows in the Velvetbox camp, so too is industry interest.  After winning the Canadian National Song Writing Competition, having songs featured in movies and working with world renowned producers, the buzz is definitely gaining momentum.  Now, with the recent developments, Velvetbox finds itself poised for international success.

With the suits of the music industry paying very close attention these days,Velvetbox sets out to fulfill the many showcase requests that they have received. Fact is, there appears to be a bidding war brewing.

Velvetbox plays an industry showcase at Zaphod Beeblebrox in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Thursday, November 27, 2008.  Advance tickets $10, at the door $12.  Please note, this show will sell out, so tickets should be purchased quickly.
