On a sliding scale of thankless jobs, in between Fecal Matter Taste Technician, and Homeless Rock Musician, you could find the Podcaster. These Dungeon DJ's and Basement Band Masters have won my appreciation, by exhibiting some great taste in music. They've used songs by the Pistol Whipper Snappers. So today I pay tribute to this army of dedicated worshipers of the complicated box. I'm pimpin thier sites and podcasts in my blog. Enjoy!

The band is still together. We've got alot of exciting things happenning in 2005 even though Steve has moved to Rocklin, Ca.
Where do I begin.
The song "Rip My Heart Out" will be featured on a compilation record that will be out in June. We are told that 10,000 copies will make their way into Hot Topic stores across America.
Also in July Some stuff that Steve Recorded several years ago with a band that he co-founded in 94' called the Lowdowns are having an anthology type record released on TKO Records in July. Steve will appear on the album in four songs playing Bass and Guitar and being honored as one of the original members of the Lowdowns. Originally the band consisted of Brian Girton, Steve Holt and a drummer that shall remain nameless. The four songs were origanally released on a 7" record of which only 300 copies were pressed.
There is also rumor that a song that Steve co-wrote in 98' with the Austin,Texas based band Nordge has been picked up by the Gourds (also from Austin) the band that is famous for the country version of Gin-n-juice. The Song "Wallace" is to be re-recorded by the Gourds for their next album.
This is all good stuff for Steve Holt and the Pistol Whipper Snappers. We were also approached to play a huge 2day event in Arizona this summer. Steve got especially excited when he was told that the Dickies will be playing the show also. " I love Stukas over Disneyland",.. He exclaimed.
The songs "push" and "Big Leroy and The Wardens Wife" are being used in an extreme Kayaking video that was produced a month ago in Medford, Oregon. Hey, we take it where we can get it.
Back in January, Steve Holt was awarded best "ON AIR performance of 2004" by KROG 97.1FM for the "TEXAS SONG". For those of you who have seen Steve play this song, you knew it would be a shoe in.
Speaking of the Texas Song. www.sidfilmz.com is dying to shoot a video for it. Shooting could begin this Summer. Steve can also be found on Sidfilmz.com as he was an actor in two of their short filmz. One part played by Steve is a cross dressing volleyball coach at an all girls college in the film "I Kappa Foo II". Steve can also be found in the twisted god complex tale of "The Partisan" playing Ahkmed Shazir, an angry roughian who beats up a guy for using Ahkmeds name down at the V.D. clinic for a herpes test that comes back positive. Quality baby.
Thats it fer now. Until something better happens this is it.

Current mood: thirsty
Well the holidays are over and we're all back together again. Cameron, Dave and I are headed to the studio to record for real on the 21st of January. The other recordings that you hear on the site were recorded in a converted chicken coop right next to Daves single wide that comes complete with a view of the KFC and the A&W just across I-5 for those of you who think that we are in or near the metropolis of Portland, you are sorely mistaken. We live about 4 hours south of Portland about 18 miles above the California border. No one seems to end up here on purpose, other than the tourists who make it here for the Shakespere Festival that runs 9 months out of the year. I'm not complaining. We've all lived in places like Seattle, San Francisco, L.A., Austin, and Portland. What a fuckin hassle to try and find rehersal space in those places. We love the jam shack as we affectionately call the chicken coop. But now we're off to Doug Hill's studio over in Medford. Doug is on here too. Nothing Error. I'll tel;l you all about and have some new songs to post when we get done. Thats all for now. -Steve
