Having spent six years following this rag-tag of folk singers, punks, and gypsies from Eastern Europe as they tirelessly toured the globe, filmmaker Margarita Jimeno offers us her imbedded account of this eclectic ensemble of artists that serve as one of the most enigmatic musical acts around. Centering on charismatic frontman and founder Eugene Hütz, a self-confessed Eastern European culture warrior who migrated to New York, Jimeno details Gogol Bordello's transformation from a cult favorite to a commercially viable global phenomenon.

Last night this year's awards were given out at the CPH:DOX Galla.
And the winner is...
DOX:AWARD 2008: went tn Anders Østergaard for BURMA VJ, with a Special Mention to Mark Hammersberg, Ester Martin Bergsmark and Beatrice Maggie Andersson for MAGGIE IN WONDERLAND.
DANISH DOX AWARD 2008: The award for best Danish documentary was given out for the first time this year, and was split between Nikolaj Viborg's 69 and Tina Katinka Jensen for SOLANGE ON LOVE, with a Special Mention to Janus Metz for FROM THY TO THAILAND and Christian Sønderby for SIDE BY SIDE.

The audience award winning film of this year's MOFFOM festival is "Gogol Bordello Non-Stop". It was more then obvious at the yesterday's sold out screening in Světozor cinema, where people were getting up from their seats feeling dancing and the cinema almost turned out into one of the clubs appearing in the film. You have another chance to see the winning film tomorrow 20.10. in the Světozor cinema at 7.15pm free of charge! Before the film we will also announce the winners from the drawing of the audience surveys, voting tickets and accreditation passes. The chances to win are high, find more about the prizes here.
