Hi all,

Sorry, we've been away from MySpace for a few months! In fact, we've been remiss with keeping up here and send those of you "friending" us here our apologies.

If you sent us a friend request that expired (they expire after a month, you know), please re-send.

Artists: We will hopefully get to all the profiles of those of you who have been added within the past year or so to review your music. We still are accepting submissions but have been VERY SHORTHANDED. So much GREAT music and so LITTLE time...please bear with us! We WILL get to you!

All the best,
Tim Lumen

Groovera: Web Radio. Chilled Grooves. True. http://Groovera.com

With AAC+ (aka. HE-AAC, aacPlus), our streams are now available with higher quality sound than ever before - and at only 48kbps! So, now with a dial-up connection, you can enjoy higher quality sound than even our 128kbps streams deliver. Compliment the high quality stream with a high-end sound system or with a good pair of headphones and you'll be in musical dreamland. You will immediately be as amazed as we were to hear the tremendous improvement in the sound.

For details, visit Groovera's news page at http://groovera.com/news.php.

Hey all,

It's been since November that we have been able to get through all our Friends Requests and since then, we've been overwhelmed with them. Thank you for sending! We have also been overwhelmed with keeping Groovera running as a smooth production, among other matters.

So thank you for your patience! We review ALL Friends Requests and we give EVERYONE a fair chance. So if you have submitted a Friends Request within the past three months and it is no longer pending, it is not because you have been rejected - I guess that either these things expire or they only allow a limit to how many one can accumulate on MySpace. PLEASE RE-SUBMIT! We really DO want to hear from you!

Cheers,
Tim Quigley

Hello and thank you for your interest in sharing your music with the Groovera audience! We are always looking for new music to showcase and where in our formative years we did extensive research and scouting to find the artists and projects to play, we are now a lightening rod for talent of many dimensions and varieties.

If you are here to send us a Friends Request as an invitation for us to review your band or project's work, please read our blog entry titled "Open Music Submission" first. Please be patient in awaiting our response - we review music submissions in the order received and WILL listen to your music at our earliest convenience, which sometimes takes awhile in the queueing order. Trust that we take our time in making our selection choices. But once we've got you in rotation, you're in like Flynn.

If your music does not fit the criteria specified in our blog entry "Open Music Submission", please respect that even if your band / project is best in the world at what you do it is highly probable that we will not add your band / project to our Friends List as Groovera is a non-venue for your musical style and cannot help you in gaining the exposure that you are aiming for - your efforts will be better served targeting those venues that are. If you are a fan of Groovera and have a personal profile, send us a friends request from there instead. We always add personal profiles as long as they are inoffensive to our audience.

Music is forever and success does not happen overnight. Sometimes we all have to wait to get on the ride, but once we are on, things begin moving very fast....

Thank you for your patience!

Current mood:  working

Groovera is currently accepting material for airplay from artists and labels who produce instrumental and vocal music in the following styles:
  • chillout
  • nu-jazz
  • future lounge
  • groove jazz
  • downtempo (or down beat)
  • low BPM deep house or jazz house
  • brokenbeat
  • ambient dub
  • neo-soul
  • ambient pop
A positive vibe with a consistent groove works best in our format. We gladly accept lo-fi and unreleased material in the above genres.

We love all kinds of music - and have an unusually broad CD collection to prove it - but the following styles do not fit Groovera's chilled radio format (see bullet list above) and we are not seeking submissions of these genres at this time (seriously):
  • rock of any kind
  • rap, hip-hop, or R&B
  • aggressive, non-ambient industrial
  • traditional or smooth jazz
  • new age or neo-classical
  • trance, electro, or music with BPM over 130
  • blues, country or folk
  • ska, dub, or reggae
  • religious music
  • anything described as being "alternative", "hardcore", "garage", "progressive", or "experimental" (heh)
To inquire, email our profile, Groovera, to share with us your profile instead of sending a "Friends Request", please. Be sure to have at least four song examples available on your profile.

Thank you and good luck!
