After picking up the award for 'Best New Label' at Breakspoll a few weeks back, Cool & Deadly presents their next bass shaking release in the form of two club thumpers from (drum roll....) Skool Of Thought (that me!).

Both tracks sit somewhere in between breaks and dub step, aimed squarely at the dancefloor making this a useful DJ tool whatever your preffered style.  Heart Of The Hood will have your blood pumping from the first beat with it's scatty breaks and driving bassline, whilst Budgie Smuggla is a tightly packed, pocket rocket which will have your head nodding at breakneck speed.

Just wheel up and watch ‘em go.

Due to traffic delays and a very unhelpful member of staff at Jetstar I will not be playing at Halo in Hobart tonight.  My apologies to everyone who bought tickets - a lot of you from what I hear.  I'm spewing!  Hope to be back soon.

It's no secret Australia has been the adopted home for all us breaks heads for a few years now. House belongs to Ibiza, Cyprus got Garage (sorry about that) and we got that big ass island down under full of endless beaches and like minded party people – sweet! So it was only natural for us to spread our wings and make it our home, now my Against The Grain label is the first and only leading breaks label to be running breaks nights in Australia. With the outstanding success of our first event in Melbourne recently, we're back with more shows and more breaks.

Over the past year there has been general feeling that breaks has been in need of a new direction, there has been a wide felt sense that we as a scene needed to break the formula’s which so many people have been working too. However, it seems few have been actually doing anything about it, I tried switch things up a little with my Random Acts Of Kindness album with Ed Solo and thankfully it’s been well received. After listening to Tayo at Fabric a few months ago with his rootsy, left of centre sound I felt inspired to do more about this situation. So I am very please to announce a new record label from myself and Tayo, the label will be named after Tayo’s Fabric party ’Cool & Deadly’. The first release is due around May 2008 and you can expect to hear releases from Bassbin Twins, TRG and of course Tayo and Skool Of Thought. Don’t expect breaks, in fact don’t expect anything other than quality bass driven tunes with a rootsy feel. Very exciting times ahead, check back for more news.

Welcome to my first ever blog, better late than never! As you may know my "Random Acts Of Kindness" album with Ed Solo is a little of over due now but fear not, it's very nearly finished. (I've been flat out working the Krafty Kuts and Freestylers albums on my Against The Grain label). We've been working in the studio when ever we can, we've writtern some great breaks, hip hop, dub step and reggae, some of which have now been released on vinyl. Our next single is "Babylon Breaks", those of you who liked "When I Was A Yout" will love this too, it features a sample from "Leaving Babylon" by reggae legend King Tubby, who was kind enough to let us use the sample. On the flip we have made a funky electro breaks thang, really groovy and quite different to our usual vibe. This is released on 12th February 2007 and the album around April time.

Remember, the best way to buy our music is from our website, we sell mp3's and CDs and very fair prices!
