*BACKSTAGE* at the Birdcage Photoshoot.......

Every day is a crazy day!!! I wish there was a way to make more time so everything could get done! Or, get a clone or clones, like in the movie Multipicity (which is SUCH a funny movie!!)...."hi steve". Today I found out that Victoria Asher from Cobra Starship wants to rock out in New York Couture...sooo excited!  I found this crazy 5 foot+ tall birdcage last week...so not only did it have to become MINE...but I also had the master plan to paint it and use it for a photoshoot. My plan did not include being sick and painting in the fweezinnn' cold...but oh well...anything to make a fun/fab photoshoot! lol

My idea for the shoot was all white makeup, with white hair, white background, and white birdcage...


...not everything always goes as planned...so once the makeup was all white it was too plain...so we added FUN COLOR!


...and I put Nofar in some of my more crazy samples for this shoot....have ALWAYS wanted to shoot this Denim Ruffle Dress!!


...and this is a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW sample...faux leather top...with STUDS!! Wait until you see!!

ps. that's what the studio we play in ALL the time looks like....

...crazy day!!! but these shoots are getting more creative each time...I want to keep that up!!! My brain is boiling over with ideas...trying to make them all come to life! Next season will have LOTS of fun new pieces...PROMISE! Working those ideas out now...getting fabric for them next week...and starting samples/production asap...want to be wayyy ahead of everything this coming season!!

Yesterday we got back into the swing of doing photoshoots.... starting off with a BANG!! One of my ultra favorite models, Gesche, just got back from Japan...so we HAD to shoot! The theme was- ICE QUEEN...

LOTS of photos in this posting!!!

It was a goofy day! I think someone spiked our falafal's...lol

I got to have some fun "making" the Ice Queen throne....

...for now, Mr. Penguin is the head bitch in charge!

...back to me acting crazy all day....first I told Kristin pin straight hair....then once it was done I said NO!...lol...and the curls were started...

...boingy boingy curls...

...LOVED this look!! We Love Colors literally just sent me all these super crazy neon tights...and they were BRIGHT!!!!!!!! <--- which I love!!

...then we shot the NEWEST Cupcake Top that's coming out : ) it's my favorite of the colors for this season!

...the shoot was "Ice Queen" themed because I ended up making this super funny Gingerbread Man Skirt (see below)...which I ended up making a female cookie...b/c girls are better anyways! So the shoot had to change to something "semi" holiday inspired...but I wasn't going to do a stupid Santa or something...so this was my grand plan!! hehehehe

...and if it wasn't funny enough...I added 2 blow up little guys to be the Gingerbread's friends...lolol...which I took one and threw it into the shoot at one point and gave Steve a fun scare...lol

...luckily Steve still loved us...and Kristin appointed him the Queen...so here he is in his crown...ahaha

...the last look of the day was my fave!!! We did lights in her hair...MAGIC!!!

...SOoooOO frickin' cute/pretty!

Bobbie Thomas wore the New York Couture Sweetheart Ruffle Skirt on the TODAY SHOW.

She looked SUPER cute!!



New York Couture LOVES Hello Kitty...so when asked to make this fabulous-ness happen of course we said HELL YES!!

...and the Sweetheart Ruffle Skirt comes in several colors and color combos...so don't be fooled by the skirt Bobbie wore...that color combo has just not been released yet...


Bobbie's stylist came to the New York Couture studio to check out all our super fun pieces...and fell in love!! SO WE LOVE HER BACK!!

We hooked her up with our AMAZING hair stylist Kristin Jackson...and she ended up making Bobbie's wig for the segment...which came out KILLER!!

Her outfit choices were between the New York Couture Sweetheart Ruffle Skirt or a Betsey Johnson dress....HAHAHA....WE WON!!! WINNERS!

This season I ventured out and tried LOTS of new things! The inspiration was mystical fairytales to wear. I wanted everything to be SUPER FUN...in happy colors...unlike the dark gloomy colors normally put with winter. This collection is also about survival. TONS of designers, stores, ect are GONE! The recession wiped them out...but New York Couture is still here and going strong (so keep supporting!)!! But things had to change...so MANY styles are/will be retired to make room for the new styles. This is good, but also means you will have to snag up whatever you LOVE asap before it's gone!!! I want to keep everything VERY fresh and unique...I hope you enjoy it all!

FYI...possibly the BIGGEST post ever...with the MOST photos...just so you know...

This was our first event at Webster Hall...and boy did we break in this venue!! Here's a photo of the marquee when we got there early in the day....and then later when we had a line around the block!!!!! Sorry if you had to wait in line...but hey...you got to go to Webster Hall for FREE (aka didn't have to pay $30)...got to go to the BEST Fashion Week Show & Party in all of NYC...and if you got there early...then you were lucky enough to get our gift bags...with MORE FAB swag this year than EVER!!!

Before the show...before the doors even opened...
Dee & Kristin were our FABULOUS hair stylists!!! They blew me away with their FIERCE hair styles and I love them both so much!!!
Our VIP section had delicious cupcakes and cookies....MMMmmmm
The backstage press area had a photoshoot area where all the models took photos in their outfits...which are the photos that we have on our website : )
Ps. I'm below...still wearing pajama's...lol. It was a long CRAZY day...even before we got to Webster Hall. An hour before we were suppose to leave...my best friend left the gate to my backyard open and my youngest puppy Muffin got out. We all ran around for about 2 hours and finally got a call that someone in the neighborhood found her. My heart is still beating from that one!! So we picked her up...I took a quick shower and then headed to do my show. If you saw me and I was frazzled...that is why...my dogs are my children...so it was insane for me!!!
Amanda and Samii looked super cute together...and they had a blast!!! Modeling and hanging out : )
I finally got dressed in the cartoon print dress I made the night before the show...but didn't have my hair or makeup done yet.....time = my enemy!!
My sexy model Dori...wearing one of everyones favorite outfits of the night...with my darling love Xenia. We both started out around the same time...except back then she was making clothes too. We became friends and stayed in touch over the years...and now she has her own FABULOUS makeup line Lime Crime Makeup...so I invited her to be part of the show...and because I LOVE her makeup so much...I asked if she would let us use it on our models...I think the makeup looks came out BEYOND AMAZING!! And the lipstick colors are NOT even out yet...so this is your SPECIAL sneak peak at what's coming out from Lime Crime Makeup!!!
But what would the makeup be without my AMAZING makeup artists!! They are all my friends...and I love them dearly! Dan (who you know from past postings...I tease him a lot)...he is one of my bff's. He came up with the super cute makeup look for this season...it was semi-futuristic dolls. Erika and Perry are my girlies...and them...with Dan completely KILLED it with there magical abilities!! The models ALL looked OUT OF CONTROL!!! Best makeup artists ever!!

Once inside....the first 100 fabulous guests got gift bags FILLED with AMAZING goodies!!! I swear...our gift bags keep getting BETTER AND BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!! This season had the MOST products to date!!!! Next time come early and DON'T miss out!!
Sexy bitches with their gift bags...Manic Panic bags...filled with SO many FAB items...Manic Panic put in their nail polish for your enjoyment : ) along with BUST magazines, Tarte lipsticks, Paul Frank lipgloss, a package of cruelty free products from Leaping Bunny, and MORE!!!
And if you were one of the lucky ones...you also got what was one of my most favorite pieces in the gift bags...a Designs by Lolita either shot glass, wine glass, or martini glass. Lime Crime Makeup was the official makeup sponsor for the New York Couture Show & Party. Not only did they hook all of our gift bags up with sparkly pigments...but all the models (and ME) got to rock out in their UBER VIBRANT colors! SOO loved!! <3

But everyone enjoyed FREE vodka cocktails provided by Prairie Vodka (with IZZE Beverages as the tasty mixer). Those drinks were BEYOND TASTY!!!

Before the fashion show started we had to do me up of course! It is my show after all!!!! I can't have all these hot models and then for me to looks like ughhh.

Also LOVE...my girlie Frenchy!! She flew in from Vegas to host my party. Of course that sexy woman had to be decked out in spandex pink metallic New York Couture Bow Leggings...

He lies and says he works for New York Couture "modeling" (which there is no modeling division) and would like to interview you. He will talk to you via Stickam, MSN, and other chats. His goal is to get you on your webcam and get you to take off your clothes. HE DOES NOT WORK FOR NEW YORK COUTURE! New York Couture would NEVER (and has never) had a model or intern do a webcam interview!! The ONLY way you would be contacted by New York Couture would be by one of our email accounts (they all end with @newyorkcouture.net...for example, info@newyorkcouture.net), by our Myspace (www.myspace.com/nycouturerules) or by our Model Mayhem account (http://www.modelmayhem.com/9332).
