HORRORPOPS - GUANA BATZ - FANGS ON FUR
You all know that this is one of our favorite times a year. Halloween followed by the beautiful Day of the Dead - El Día de los Muertos also called All Souls' Day. A day where we remember friends and family members who have died. It is said that it is easier for
the souls of the departed to visit the living during El Día de los Muertos and what better way to encourage visits by
the souls of the departed, than a musical celebration in addition to the thoughts, memories, prayers and comments. We are also proud to announce the two very special guests of the night:

We are sooo sorry to say that the show in Pomona at Halloween 10/31/09 had to be canceled. Nekromantix got a support tour offer that is so awesome, that there was no way they could turn it down. They can not say officially what it is yet, but you wait and see- it's fuckin awesome! Of course that means that HorrorPops has to cancel as well, we can't really play without Nekroman... For you guys who have already gotten your tickets for 10/31/09, you can your refundt at point of purchase no problem. We hate when stuff like this happens, cuz we know that it is you the most dedicated fans that goes out and buy your tickets right away, so it's unfair that it's you guys that gets hurt by a situation like this. Don't worry, we will make it up to you and you know it. The Dia de los muertos show at HOB Hollywood is of course still on, so if you don't mind the drive, please come celebrate with us there. It's gonna be an awesome show with some extra treats . We hope to see you there and yes there is still a few tickets left, but not many...

Current mood: amused
So, I've been home for a week now and all I want to do is to go back
out on the road. This recent tour has been one of the most fun tours
we've done in a long time. We've played what some people call
shitholes, meaning small out of the way venues in city's that most
bands don't hit and I've been loving every moment of it. For once I've
actually been able to see the people we've been playing for and not
just a row of lights, it has been sweaty, dirty and up close &
personal...Perfect!!! Every city/venue has a great story (Denver you
know you rule) (Florida, we got eaten by mosquito's and... fleas?..and
got really drunk) (OK City your bartender is dangerous) (Tucson, get a god damn AC will ya,) I could keep going, but there is one place in particular that I want to thank- Navajo Nation!
I've never been so honored to play any country as I have Navajo nation.
I know that the venue was a dirt floor metal building, that the stage
was still being build when we were supposed to be loading our gear on
it and that through out the day there was concerns if the authorities
was going to shut it down. All reasons for bands not to go there, but
all I have to say to them is "do it, you idiots". We got treated with
such respect, we got shown around on the Nation and the show it self
....There's just not enough words to describe how awesome it was! So
thank you Navajo Nation and please have us back soon. During
and after this tour I got a few emails with very mixed feelings about
our after show appearances... Some asking if we always get that shit
faced, some asking if we're ever gonna play the city we were in the
night before, some thanking us for taking pictures and signing
autographs and some saying that they will never see HP play again
because we didn't come out to sign autographs (some of these from the
same city where others thanked us for signing...?). There is a few
things I have to say to that and I'll try to do it with less anger than
some of you had when leaving comments on the HorrorPops site: I
still feel it is weird and awkward when signing stuff and doing
pictures. I do not feel I'm anything special and I don't understand why
anyone wants to walk home with a picture of my sweaty face. However, I
do love meeting the people that goes to our show, it's the one
narcissistic feeling I allow myself: talking to people who love what I
love. But 95% of the time, I can not be there/everywhere to sign
stuff. Sometimes because we're on the other side of the building
signing stuff (hint hint to the one or two complete assholes who is boy
cutting HP because we didn't sign their stuff), sometimes because
somebody has to act as the bands manager, tourmanager, driver,
accountant or roadie. Horrorpops tries to keep ticket prices low, we don't
believe that a rock show should be something you have to save up for.
Keeping tickets low equals us getting paid a low fee for playing and
that means we can not afford to have Tourmanagers, personal managers
(those are the ones that picks you up from the bar when it's time to
go), drivers (have you looked at the distance between the cities we
play?) sound engineers and tour accountants (somebody has to go argue
with the venue to get paid and sign all the legal tax
papers/contracts). So here's to those people who think that we are too
much rockstars to sign their stuff: It's because we're not rockstars we
don't sign your stuff! We all have jobs to do, in order to make your
ticket affordable. I do wanna write: go fuck your self, but that
wouldn't be nice ...hehehehe.... Now, it's not fair that I use so
much space on a few ignorant people, when so many of you are really
fuckin cool. But I wanted to share how much it hurts when people write
hateful comments because they didn't meet all of us after the show. So
I guess you now know how to hurt us if you want too, go write something
hateful on our sites. If you know some of these people that wrote
hateful stuff, go give them a comment with love from me :) I don't want to sign of on a bitter note, so.... fuck it, i do wanna sign that off on a bitter note hahahahahahaha! Now it's time to go mix a bloody Mary and hang out by the BBQ. HorrorPops doesn't have much going on for the rest of the year, it's Nekromantix
time to tour and record. Niedermeir does live sound when Nekro tours,
so make sure you take good care of my two men out on the road. I will
stay at home and write some new HorrorPops songs. Of course there is also Hootenanny to consider and HorrorPops will of course do our yearly Halloween celebration. See you all sooner than you think. xxx patricia PS: Niedermeier is working on a tour video from this recent tour, so keep checking in.
