I had a conversation with my Dad. We read: "Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we shold be called children of God ; and we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet manifested what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him ; for we shall see him even as he is. And every one that hath this (the)hope on him purifieth himself, even as HE is pure." Then we spoke about the fact that it says "if" Christ is manifested, not when, and about Jesus being manifested through individuals and through a corporate body.
We probably spoke for about an hour, and all this stuff just flowed out of me. It was mostly about dealing with sin and our identity in Christ. That when we come to a stumbling block, we should not address it as a person of the world, who may or may not practice that sin, but as a child of God, who's nature puts that kind of activity beneath them. Like offering rancid meat to a man with a gourmet lobster dinner. If we really believe that we have been crucified with Christ, then we believe that our old nature (sin, and selfishness of the flesh) is dead and what is now living is Christ in us ("it is no longer I who live, but Christ"). So when we get to a situation when we are tempted to sin; like being cut off in traffic, treated rudely and offended by someone, a chance to look lustfully after some attractive person, or whatever the case may be, when we are in that situation and we are presented with the choice to follow our flesh/selfish nature and sin, or follow our Father's nature (led by the Holy Spirit, acting in selfless love like Jesus) then we should view the sin as something that is not really an option. We should have an identity check. "Am I a slave of sin who reacts bassed on my flesh, or am I a child of God who acts out of His love?".
At this point, it's really about faith. Do you really believe that Jesus' sacrifice has bought you (1 Corinthians 6:20, 7:23) that you have been set free from sin (Revelation 1:5)? Do you really believe that you have died to sin and are alive in Christ (Romans 6)? Is God really your father? Well, if He is your Father then you have inherited certain genetic traits from Him. Holiness. Love. Purity. So when you are faced with those sins just remember who you are, and see those sins for what they really are, rancid meat. Sin feeds the dead man within you, but eat from Christ, and you will nourish the spiritual man. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20
"...Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood" Revelation 1:5
"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
5For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. 7For one who has died has been set free from sin. 8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
15What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6

Elise Marie Mann Born May 19th at 12:47pm. 6 pounds 12.5 ounces, 18.5 inches long. She is doing great. Alicia and I are so blessed. Alicia is still in pain so please pray for her. Other than that Alicia is doing great too. I'm so blessed to have them both in my life. "Elise" is named after Alicia's Mom Elisabeth (Elise is the German form of Elisabeth, like the song "Fur Elise"). We picked "Marie" because it's Alicia's middle name and it flows really well with Elise and Mann. THANK YOU LORD!! We are so blessed!

"These teach and exhort. If any teacheth different, and consenteth not to sound words, THOSE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, and to the teaching according to godliness, he is puffed up, knowing nothing...."
What you and I believe and/or teach, does it encourage us to live upright, moral lives which are subject to the teaching of Jesus? Or does our belief justify sinfulness and create complacency? Mark 9:47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell
Do you believe what Jesus believes and take that statment seriously?

"Symeon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained an equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ : Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord ; since his divine power hath granted to us all things unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us through glory and virtue ; whereby he hath granted us the precious and exceeding great promises ; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in virtue knowledge ; and in knowledge self-control ; and in self-control patience ; and in patience godliness ; and in godliness brotherly kindness ; and in brotherly kindness love. for if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For who lacketh these is blind, short-sighted, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. Where-fore, brethren give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure : for in doing these ye shall never stumble : for thus shall be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."

I was doing a study of Matthew and came to the parable of the wedding feast. The one man was cast out for not having the wedding garment on.
In Rev 19:8 it says that the wedding garment of the bride (the church) is the righteous deeds of the saints.
Then in Matt 25 in the judgement of the sheep and goats the two groups are separated by works, righteous deeds.
This kind of troubled me because I didn't want to be super focused on works, but my Father showed me that those righteous deeds of the saints, or the selfishness of the unbelievers is only a manifestation of the heart.
What would you do if you loved someone who was hungry, or thirsty, or sick, or in prison? The saints manifested love. Their deeds were the fruit of a loving heart. Anyone can feed the hungry. Jesus won't care about the deed for the deeds sake. Man's rightous deeds are filthy before the Lord. But JESUS' deeds THROUGH us, that's what will count. Those who will inherit the kingdom are those who submit to Christ and have their hearts changed. They stop having wicked selfish hearts and start having hearts that are filled with God's love for others. And this love shows itself in deeds when we help others who are in need.
We can try to have good deeds, but what we need is to beg God to change our hearts so that deeds of love with be natural for us. We need to read the teachings of Jesus and ask God to show us where our lives don't match up with Jesus' teaching. Then we need to seek to obey His teaching. As we do this the Holy Spirit will guide us and enable us.
Rom 8:14 says "as many as are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
Do we really believe that? I don't think many preachers actually believe this verse because I don't recall ever hearing this preached. So if the preachers aren't teaching it then the folks probably don't believe it either. You can look around and see that people don't believe what Jesus said in the above verse. If they believed it they would not continue to live lives that put their own desires ahead of being Holy as their Father is Holy.
It's just like what Jesus said about sin. If your hand or foot or eye causes you to sin remove it from your body. Why? Because if you continue to obey that sin you'll be cast into hell. That's what Jesus believed. I don't think many who call themselves His followers believe what Jesus did concerning sin. If they did the would either stop serving those sins or they'd pluck out their eyes and cut off their hands. Like the guy who looks at porn. If he really believed what Jesus said he would have plucked out his eye or he would have stopped looking at porn so that there was no reason to cripple his body. Since he continues in that sin he obviously disagrees with Jesus and does not share the same believes with Jesus.
Psalm 28:4 Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.
Isaiah 59:18 According to their deeds, so will he repay, wrath to his adversaries, repayment to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render repayment.
Jeremiah 17:10 "I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds."
Ezekiel 24:14 I am the LORD. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; I will not spare; I will not relent; according to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord GOD."
Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
1 Peter 1:17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,
Do you believe ROMANS 2:4-11?
"Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed. He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality.

It seems to me that in the Bible there are two basic commandments concerning fear. One is the command that we are NOT to fear.
The other is the commandment TO fear.
Go to biblegateway.com and do a word search for the word fear. Pay attention to Psalms and Proverbs. Those who serve God don't need to fear many things. They should not fear the wicked, hunger, they should not have fear about the cares of life. They should instead fear God.
Those who don't fear God should have much fear about the cares of life, but even more about what will happen at the judgement.
Deuteronomy 10:12 [ Circumcise Your Heart ] "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul"
Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Luke 12:5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!
A major theme of the Bible, omitted from most versions of the gospel.
Psalm 25:14 The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him,and he makes known to them his covenant.
Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Psalm 85:9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Psalm 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him
Psalm 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children,so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
Psalm 103:17 But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,and his righteousness to children's children,
Psalm 111:5 He provides food for those who fear him;he remembers his covenant forever.
Psalm 145:19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;he also hears their cry and saves them.
Psalm 147:11 but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him,in those who hope in his steadfast love.
Revelation 19:5 And from the throne came a voice saying, "Praise our God,all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great."
Exodus 20:20 Moses said to the people, "Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin."
Proverbs 23:17 Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day.
Ecclesiastes 8:12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.
1 Timothy 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
Luke 1:50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of eviland perverted speech I hate.
Gene:
ShawnMann: Jesus said that sin comes from the heart, but the pure in heart will see God. If you bear the fruit of sin, then it is coming from your heart, and it means your heart is not pure. Ask Him to take you through the process of purification and sanctification. You will be relieved at the burdens that He will lift off your shoulders when you are saved from the oppression of sin. Or you can just be dishonest with yourself and say that your heart is already pure even though you bear bad fruit
And let's be mindful the our sanctification will not end until we are called up to Glory with Christ. Some say that all true believers will have no sin and of course the bible doesn't teach that. Even though the true convert is a new creature and ought to act as Jesus would, none of us have ever esteemed God to the degree that we ought to esteem Him. So even for the convert, his struggle over sin is not finished.
I agree that the process will not be complete until we meet our Lord in the air. But I also believe that God is powerful enough to take sinners and turn them into children of God who behave like Christ. Maybe not 100% of the time, they may still commit sins that don't lead to death (as mentioned by John) but from the perspective of a sinner they will look very much like Jesus indeed, bearing the fruit of righteousness and walking after the Spirit with crucified flesh, no longer a slave to sinful passions and desires, having been set free in Christ and trained to resist temptation and even changed to the degree that sin, for the most part, isn't even tempting. We are told to STRIVE for holiness (sanctification) and promised that without that state, which we are told to STRIVE for, we will not see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: (and what does sanctificaton look like?--->) that you abstain from sexual immorality, 4that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. 7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. 8 Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. Romans 6:19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.I think that much of the problem is that people today are told that they are saved even if there is no evidence of it in their lives. Even though they have not been made slaves of righteousness, bearing fruit leading to sanctification. People are told that Jesus has cleansed their heart even though their hearts bear bad fruit. They are pretty much calling Jesus a liar, because Jesus said that a good tree bears good fruit. Jesus said His disciples would obey what He taught. Jesus said those who sin are slaves to sin. So when people say they are set free, are good trees, are disciples of Jesus even though they are slaves to sin, bear bad fruit, and don't obey what He taught, only two options exist: 1)either Jesus was wrong or 2)they are fooling themselves and are still slaves to sin, bad trees, not His disciples. I think a lot of the confusion happens because people don't really take what Jesus said seriously. If they can read the beatitudes and think that they have those qualities even though they still habitually commit sin which leads to death, they are blind to what Jesus was really saying. Jesus said: " what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person." If people think that their hearts have been cleansed and they are holy even though they manifest these sins from their unclean hearts, again, they are saying that Jesus was wrong. If you believe in Jesus, then you have to believe what He said. "Unclean" means common, unholy. If they think they are holy, even though out of their hearts comes all these sins which make someone unholy, they are lying to themselves and others. When you tell someone that they are born again and holy just because they prayed some prayer or went through some ritual then you are blinding them to what Jesus actually taught. People put their faith in the prayer, or the ritual, instead of in Christ and what He taught. Jesus said those who believe in Him (true belief, not like people today who say "I believe in Jesus", but don't obey Him)... He said those who believe in Him would manifest the Spirit. If you manifest the flesh rather than the Spirit, then you don't believe in Jesus. You may think you do, but He would have to disagree.
The Parable of the Talents 14 "For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. 19Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, 'Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.' 21His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' 22And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, 'Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.' 23His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' 24He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, 'Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.' 26But his master answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' (notice that the one who did not bear fruit was cast out)The Final Judgment 31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' 45Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
(the unrighteous did not have the fruit that the righteous did. We are not saved by our fruit, but our fruit is evidence that we have been saved)
1 Corinthians 6:9 9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
(notice the fruit of the unrighteous who will not inherit the kingdom? Sinfulness. Bad trees bear bad fruit.)
Galatians 5:21 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 5:5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous ( that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
John 14:21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."
John 15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
1 Corinthians 7:19 For neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the commandments of God.
1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:4 Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
1 John 3:24 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome
Revelation 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.
(Remember that Jesus said whoever believes in Him, that out of them will flow the living water, which is the Holy Spirit. So if you are not manifesting the fruit of the Spirit, you do not believe in Jesus the way He spoke of. Pay carefull attention to how people respond to these verses. Do they encourage you to obey and bear His fruit, or do they try to get you to not worry about shining His light but just having faith that you are already where you need to be? If you can read the beatitudes and think you have those qualities then you are kidding yourself or you are as obedient as Jesus. Reading the beatitudes with a truthful, honest attitude should show us that we are far from where we need to be and we need to beg Him to get us there. Jesus said that sin comes from the heart, but the pure in heart will see God. If you bear the fruit of sin, then it is coming from your heart, and it means your heart is not pure. Ask Him to take you through the process of purification and sanctification. You will be relieved at the burdens that He will lift off your shoulders when you are saved from the oppression of sin. Or you can just be dishonest with yourself and say that your heart is already pure even though you bear bad fruit)

1 O LORD my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me, 2 lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
3 O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, 4 if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause, 5 let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Selah
6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment. 7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you; over it return on high.
8 The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me. 9 Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God! 10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart. 11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.
12 If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow; 13 he has prepared for him his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts. 14 Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies. 15 He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made. 16 His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.
17 I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.
This chapter should scare the crap out of us. "If I have done this, if there is wrong my hands", "judge me O Lord, according to MY righteousness, and according to the INTEGRITY THAT IS IN ME!?" AGH! Please Lord no! Please take your judgment away from me! Please cleanse my heart, please clean my heart so that there is integrity in it!
Matthew 15 "But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person"
Matthew 18 "So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."
Mark 7 "What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person."
Are you ever dishonest? Are you ever prideful? Jesus said we are murders if we hate our brother. We are adulterers if we look at a woman with lust.
These things show what is in our hearts!! So if we are going to be judged based on what is in our hearts, we are in a LOT of trouble!
We need to get on our faces, literally get down on the floor and beg for the Father's mercy. We need to beg Him to cleanse these things out of our hearts so that we no longer obey them by sinning. Ask Him to deliver you from these sins, to wash them out of your heart. Believe me, I am preaching at myself as much as anyone.
This is serious people. We can't do anything until we realize that there is wickedness in our hearts and cry out, really, earnestly seek God to take these things out of our hearts.
There is victory. There is hope. Just ask my friend Stephen on my top friends list. You CAN be changed from a person with a wicked heart and have these things cleansed out of you. But we need to cry out for it. We need to ADMIT that we have these problems. CONFESS our sins to God. Be specific. Tell the Father that the things in your heart prove that you love yourself more than you love Him. Tell Him that you are an adulterer, or a liar, or whatever these verses prove about your heart. Don't try to hide it.
From Psalm 32:
"For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."
Let's do it! Cry out. If you want to be forgiven then admit your sins to God. This is hard for me because I know that I try to ignore things that are wrong with me. I assume I'm fine. I need the Lord to show me what's wrong in my heart. It is so wonderful to be cleansed and to feel washed clean. Sometimes you don't realize you've had a weight pulling you down until He rescues you and takes it off your shoulders.

I was addicted. I wasted a lot of time at work and at home playing that game. It was damaging my professional and personal life. I know there is nothing wrong with the game. It's a cool game. The problem is how I let it become so much of a priority that I would play it instead of getting work done. Then when God started telling me I should stop playing it I started trying to think of any way I could keep it in my life. I didn't want to let it go and I was trying to protect it. Then He gave me this image in my mind of me holding this roundish gray stone idol (about the size of a basket ball), like an idol you'd see in a temple from a Indiana Jones movie or something. He showed me that the game was an idol to me that I was holding onto and didn't want to give up. I was a slave to it. I didn't WANT to be a bad employee, but that's what was happening because of the effect my relationship to this game was having on my life. I wanted to get my work done, but instead I'd play that game for hours and hours. I wanted to play that game more than I wanted to do what I needed to do. I was a slave.
When my Father (God) started telling me to get rid of it I was like "what? it's just a game! it's not that big of a deal". I was totally blind to how big that game was in my life. I started trying to make a deal. I was like "well, maybe I'll just play it when I'm not working, or for just a few minutes a day" I was trying to do ANYTHING but give it up. I was trying to protect my idol and keep it in my life. I was totally blind to what a slave I was to it.
But when my Father showed me the spiritual truth behind it, that it was an idol in my heart that I was trying to protect and wouldn't give up even when He asked me to, He freed me from my slavery to it and I deleted it off my myspace.
