Going to San Diego comic-con next month? The Cartoon Art Museum (where I will be stationed at SDCC this year BTW) is looking for artist to donate 30-60 minuets of their time as an "artist in residence."

Here is a message from the man in charge, Andrew Farago:

"Hope you're doing well. I'm in the process of putting together some programming for the Cartoon Art Museum's table at Comic-Con, and wanted to see if you'd be able to put aside some time to sign and sketch at our booth.

My current plan is to have a rotating "Cartoonist In Residence" slot at our table, which would be filled by any artist who's willing to sit at the table for 30 to 60 minutes and draw sketches for convention-goers, work on his own materials, and basically help bring more visitors to our table (and, hopefully, to the museum itself).

We're also looking for donations of signed books and comics so that we can offer "new" material for sale in addition to our usual backstock (which hasn't been replenished in several years). Donations can either be mailed to CAM ahead of time or picked up by a CAM representative at the convention.

Thanks very much for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Andrew

As part of the Kid Beowulf trailer (in the last post) I help create an animatic to go along with some historic audio that is part of the "Lost Epic Scrolls".

The art was created by Alexis Fajardo and was scanned/colored in photoshop and animated in after effects. I really love using the computer to add life to art that was in some other form. I hope that there will be other projects like this in the future. Do you have one?

I finally got around to posting the first ever comic book trailer I assembled here on myspace. I did this video in conjunction with Alexis E. Fajardo of Lexpress for his graphic novel Kid Beowulf.

Alexis provided me with large scans of his original work and I animated them in time to the selected music. The result is a fantastic promotional tool you can use for a) conventions b) DVD's c) web and e)broadcast. Most property/brands now are presented in numerious formats, and independent graphic novel creators are no different.

Take a look at the video below AND if your interested in having one done for your comic, graphic novel or cartoon, get in touch with me at staff@atomicbearpress.com. I would be happy to give your title a big movie feel.
