check out three of the tracks at http://soundcloud.com/tigerbeat6/sets/3-tracks-from-kid606-cardopusher-badxman-disciples-of-dread-ep

Artist: Kid606/Cardopusher/BADXMAN
Catalogue number: shock20
Album title: Disciples of Dread EP
label: Shockout
Release date: September

Big New Release from Shockout! No MC's here, just massive
soundsystem pressure. The basslines start off big and just
got bigger as the EP progresses. Newcomer to the scene
BADXMAN kicks things off with two unique tunes successfully blending
afrobeat, Heavy bass, and funky house with filthy growling basslines,
keep our eyes on this producer, we predict big things for him.
Next up we have breakcore legend/current Dubstep heavyweight CARDOPUSHER,
evolving beyond his seminal breakcore sound of years past Cardopusher
has been dropping humoungous dubstep records on True Tiger, AD Noiseam, Lo Dubs and Offroad,
then he starts making playlists worldwide with his genre blurring remixes on Trouble & Bass,Hyperdub and Tigerbeat6. "Carne Sentada" and "Youthman Dread" show a whole new dimension of this talented producer, getting in touch with a true caribbean rasta spirit, these tracks shake bassbins and will surely inspire many imitators. Kid606 takes things to extremes with two versions of a classic motif. "Mash up the Place" takes a dark syncopated Skank with loud claps and piercing synths that just keep building and building to a climactic end. While the DigiSoca mix is soca like you have never heard it before.
Tracklist:
1 BADXMAN - The Blood
2 BADXMAN - The Drop Dead Funk
3 Cardopusher - Carne Sentada
4 Cardopusher - Youthman Dread
5 Kid606 - Mash Up The Place
6 Kid606 - Mash Up The Place (DigiSoca Mix)

Filastine returns to Shockout in this collaboration with partner and fellow nomad, Maga Bo. Together they are Sonar Calibrado. Meeting in different countries with their mobile production studios the duo built this four song EP, a collection of tracks that are not only all bangers on the dancefloor, but have a density and detail that takes them well beyond that. The three tracks at ragga tempo nearly constitute a genre of their own, defined by syncopated percussion, sub-bass, & distorted melodies, and featuring the filthiest rappers from Brazil and Morocco:  Speed Freaks, Mario Z & Jawad.  Os Assasinos jumps tempo to Rio baile funk and features one of the genre's most infamous gangsters, Mr Catra, while steering well clear of the cliches with it's chopped up arabic strings and gunshot batucada.

Maga Bo's new CD, Archipelagoes,  comes on dj/Rupture's Soot Records right now! He just returned to his base in Rio de Janeiro from a wide tour of North America, including the (dubious) WMC in Miami.  Filastine released his wildly successful first record Burn It in 2006 and has toured the whole earth a few times over since then, & is now about ready to drop his next CD.  Sonar Calibrado gets busy whenever these two cross paths... Amsterdam, Tangier, NYC, or Barcelona, working by day and throwing guerilla street parties by night; during carnival in Rio with pirated electricity, or from a mobile car sound system in the States.

tracklist:
A1 Os Asassinos (featuring Mr Catra)
A2 Se Liga (featuring Mario Z)
B1 E Daí (featuring Speak Freaks)
 B2 Alesh (featuring Jawad)

descriptions:
shock12 Johny "P"/kid606/DJ C-Seaga Face and P.J. Body 12"
Kid606 and DJ C have served up some rankin' riddims for Jonny P's anti-bleaching anthem "Seaga Face and P.J. Body." Jonny P's fiery delivery calls out those women who bleach their face for cosmetic reasons. Edward Seaga (a white man) and P.J. Patterson (a black man) are both recent Jamaican Prime Ministers. We imagine that most Jamaican woman would want neither a Seaga Face nor a P.J. Body but the point is, Johnny P likes 'em natural. Kid606's mix is a slinky funkstep dancehall stomper with clean vocals and a grindin bassline. DJ C comes with a timely but original floor-stomping reggaeton-influenced riddim. Both instrumental versions appear here as well. This 12-inch is sure to be runnin' tings in many a dance.

shock13 Ghislain Poirier/Mr. Lee G-Dem Nah Like Me 12"
Montrealer Ghislain Poirier is obsessed with big dirty beats, which is why he creates ragga style riddims and deconstructed abstract hip-hop. He collaborated with Beans (Warp), DJ/rupture Shockout labelmate, TTC (Big Dada) and Lotek Hi-Fi (Big Dada); remixed UK sensation Lady Sovereign (Def Jam), Les Georges Leningrad and Pulseprogramming. He just released his new album Breakupdown on Chocolate Industries and went on tour with Lady Sovereign in North America in December 2005 ! Also, Poirier has been playing more and more DJ sets, making people move their asses - especially when hes throwing down his own monthly and irregular DJ night in Montréal La soirée BOUNCE LE GROS.

This new 12 for Shockout (his third 12 for the label) features the talented Trinidad/Brooklyn emcee Mr Lee G (Ethiopian Taste) with a deep and convincing flow. Poirier bring here two new riddims, Road Ride Riddim is a hip-hop/ragga style beats running under the ground and East Montreal Riddim is definitively close to UK grime, like a Quebecois response to the Forward Riddim. No doubt, this is a banger!
