Click here for Gun Club @ The Fat! Shop on digital and very limited vinyl promo. SAM HELL GUN CLUB
Cat No: SIN035
Released: July 2008 A: Original B: Hedflux Remix C: Badlands Ruffty Buffty Remix Digital Only D: Rektchordz Remix Digital Only Mr Sam Hell is back on his home label of Sinister Recordings. Following on from his Bone Snow release - which hit No.1 in DJ Download Sam Hell once again raises the bar with the monster of a release which is Gun Club.
Producers, train spotters, House Djs, Breaks Djs and party goers will all be clambering over each other to get a copy of Gun Club - it quite simply illustrates the magical equilibrium that most producers strive to achieve, but very rarely accomplish, not for Sam Hell. With his latest outing, he showcases his ability to combine crystal clear production, tech-fuelled funk and a pinch of Sam Hell magic resulting in a peak-time stormer! On the flip we find nu-boy Hedflux fresh from his Annie Nightingale mix on Radio One (commissioned after his first release!) and his initial release Music Is My Weapon. And oh my! what a mix he has turned out for his first ever remix effort!!! Going deeper and techier than the original, Hedflux chucks a bit of psychedelic funk in the picture and a bassline that will quite frankly scare the shit out of ya yet he still manages to maintain that element of funk that will have the floor jumpin! As if that wasnt enough, we have the Badlands boys back from their Baobinga ID mix of Jump Up Get Hype. The guys have turned in a wobbly rendition of the original which again will rock the foundations of the any club. And we still have a Rektchordz mix to add to this, who stays faithful to his bleepy-Breaks roots after his past two outings reaching the top 10 in the Beatport chart. It is rare to find a package with so much diversity, originality and universal appeal Gun Glub is truly firing!

DIGITALIS Mind Games Cat No: SIN034 Released: 22nd May 2008 A1: Original B1: Introspective Remix
Following 'The Ride' and 'I Make Beats' Seb Taylor aka Digitalis delivers his next installment on Sinister Recordings 'Mind Games'. Mind Games illustrates the versatility that comes to be expected from Digitalis and indeed the ever-evolving Sinister label. Deep, bendy basslines weave their way through tight beats and vocal edits resulting in another imaginative outing from Digitalis. Following up on his 'Dinamics' remix for Erase Records (No.1 in DJDL) and his upbeat House-tinged 'Submit' (also currently at no1 on DJ Download), we find the ever-impressive Introspective back on remix duties. Combining the crispest of production, the dirtiest of basslines and that little bit of magic, it is little wonder that Introspective is recognized as one of the most talented producers in Breaks scene. Listen and enjoy! DJ Magazine Less trancey than previous material, Digitalis returns to Sinister with this trippy techno beast, complimented on the flip by Introspective's growlier take with more bottom end. Apply The Breaks
A sinister release indeed with this minimalist electro inspired deep roller. I like the oldskool dsk sample here, pushing this above the pack of some of the more mediocre releases this month. Introspective follow the fashion for the remix, teching it up a notch for the more mainstream floors. Solid release. Nuskoolbreaks.co.uk Digitalis' new piece on the heavyweight known as Sinister is another fine peice of techery. A melodic bassline that's got some heavy jog wheel action accompanies a groovy breakbeat. Add some occasional vocals and whispering "The mind keeps tripping, the philistines are ripping into me, what the fuck!" Occasionally a filthy bassline hits in for a couple of steps, add some serious digital distortion on even more vocal hooks and you get the picture of what Mind Games is all about. Sure to grab attention this continues Sinister's unparalleled output of top notch music. Introspective wades in like a bouncer with 'roid-rage at the local cheese club with a filthier version of Digitalis' work. Much more bass heavy with the jog wheel left well alone, it's got some serious throb that's going to give the dancefloor a proper work out. Vocals are used much more sparingly in this mix and it has a much darker breakdown creating a more hectic and aptly, sinister remix.

Following the massive Pole Kat in 2007 and with two recent remixes under his belt for Ruff Dog & Roll Records Sinister stalwart, Introspective, brings us his first original for 2008 – Submit. Submit showcases the detailed, groove-laden production prowess that has brought Introspective a raft of praise from across many scenes in the last few years. Highly influenced by the likes of Thomas Schumacher & his Minimal Techno contemporaries yet injected with lashings of Elite Force-style tech-funk, this is a mid-tempo tech-roller that is carefully designed to fit happily into both 4/4 & Breaks sets. Providing an altogether more antipodean take on the original, Aussie-breaks dons bitrok add to their recent recent success on Title Fight with a pumped up thumper of a peaktime remix that immediately jumps in your lap an begs to be stroked!

A new year brings a fresh face to the Sinister roster in the form of Steve Young, aka Hedflux. Having recently secured a residency at Psychedelic Breakdown where he regularly showcases his psy-tinged tech-funk sound, Steve recently went on to earn his producers stripes by winning a competition to remix A Place For You by New York-based electronic act - Misfilter. With his debut original, Steve provides a prime example of the Hedflux philosophy in both name and musicality with Music Is My Weapon. Oozing the hard-nosed, mind-bothering attitude that goes down all too well at Sinister Towers, this beast will have heads well and truly down with its twisted, tekked-up bassline and synth-stabs that'll have you reaching for eye-protection. Following their chart-topping single Play It Loud / Fundamental on Funkatech, Breakspoll 2007 winners Far Too Loud dish up the remix with a further exploration into psy-breaks territory Dj Mag: Hedflux
Music Is My Weapon
Sinister
4.5 Stars Sinister have really been exploring the psy-breaks path via Introspective and Digitalis, and here Hedflux aka Steve Young turns in a tripped-out tech-funk piece. The snaking acid line is what'll really have dancers cavorting like possessed dervishes (probably), while on the remix Far Too Loud pepper their psychedelic nuances over more of a breakbeat bed. Designed for peak-time play, it's not as ferocious as their Play it Loud banger but then what is? CL NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk: Hedflux / Music Is My Weapon / Far Too Loud Remix / Sinister I always love it when a label goes slightly against the grain to what they generally release and that's exactly what Sinister have done here. Don't get me wrong they haven't gone bassline tear-out or lost the plot with some minimal tech-plod, no sir, they basically just got tuffer. Hedflux's Music Is My Weapon comes in on a phat driving bassline, solid tech beats and awesome synth sorcery in the top end. The groove is locked-down and there is no way this tune isn't going to work on the dancefloor. The breakdown is colossal psy-trance-esque until huge builds and massive drops land the tune with monolith presence. Those spinning the tuffer end of General Midi style tech breaks will beg, steal or borrow for this release. Flip for those wanting some real tuff action. Far Too Loud deliver a slamming remix laced with phat drums and immense psy-trance acid induced production values. Great for Spanish dancefloors and those spinning intense 3am sets. The mid-drop-out and build is completely explosive. Monstrous respect to the Sinister crew for this release. (jimmy mofo) Available from all good digital stores from 14/03/2008

Sam Hell - Bone Snow with Dopamine Remix - Out Now! Sam Hell After his successful debut on Sinister with Stay Out All Night, Sam Hell returns with a brand new, scorching Bassline House release. Having recently remixed The Beat Monkey's - 'Lords Of Elderon' on Brighton Breaks, Sinister's latest prodigee, steps up to the plate with Bone Snow. Giving the likes of Hook N Sling a run for their money, Sam Hell has fully utilized his skills for taking loudness to another level.
Bone Snow features a monster electroid bassline / thumping kick combo that pounds away at the eardrums like Dave Spoon on acid, add to that the infectious vocal and you've got a winning peak-time formula.
Dopamine For the flip, Aussie Electro House / Breaks top banana & Title Fight resident - Dopamine extracts the melodic goodness of the original and goes deep, with a chunky Breaks re-work that wraps you up in toasty sub bass & tickles the ticklish bits with a generous sprinkling of crystal clear percussion. Dopamine literally exploded onto the scene with his debut release "Hold You" which took out best single at the 2006 International Breakspoll Awards at Fabric in London. With three more nominations for Breakthrough Producer, Best Remix and Best Producer he's certainly made an impact in two short years on the scene. One reviewer recently said "every speaker Dopamine touches turns to gold". These accolades have led to his music being used on CSI Miami and exclusive production for the Sony Playstation game, Wipeout Pulse. EK rounds off the corners on the remix. IDJDigitalis I Make Beats Sinister Recordings (UK) SIN030 Following his last tech-epic with 'the Ride', Digitalis brings a new installment on Sinister Recordings, the deep and twisted 'I Make Beats'. Seb Taylor has been releasing music since the mid 90s introducing the trance and techno scene to his break fuelled soun. With this latest offering, Digitalis flexes his Breaks muscles yet again, providing a carefully crfted piece of chuggy, heads down business, suitably saturated with a leftfield attitude the Sinister camp just can't resist. Also on duty, Aussie Breaks producer does the business and provides a remix that takes a hold of you and drops you on the dancefloor. 4.5/5 Bijoubreaks.comWith every new release, Sinister Recordings cements itself further as a label of outstanding quality and consistency. More proof right here: A: I Make Beats (Original) Along with many of you, I was extremely impressed with Digitalis' recent techy stormer, The Ride. The man now returns in even finer form with 'I Make Beats'. It possesses similar tough 'n techy ingredients to its predecessor, as well as an ingenious light-handedness in the percussion (an enviable trademark of this producer). The result is an absolute beauty of a tune, dishing up fantastically evil funk and a jacking dancefloor vibe. Full marks. B: I Make Beats (EK Remix) As far as I'm concerned, Australian producer EK remains one of the most underrated figures in the world of breaks. His original works sparkle with just that: originality; and here he's cooked up a remix of outstanding quality. It's worth mentioning that fans of Chris Carter's skittery sound will do their absolute nut over this tune, which should also give you a good clue as to its effortless, shuffling vibe. Underneath it all is a delicious, bubbling bassline, which carries along the minimalist midrange tweaks in properly infectious fashion. Superb! Hats off to Sinister. This release is indispensable. awesome release for sinister. when people hear i make beats, they are going to bug.
