well, sometimes one needs to get away and drive up to the north shore of the glorious Fleuve St. Laurent, in order to recompartmentalize and reclarify some things in one's life, no? Some of the greatest things in life come from language and us petty humans. Understandibly, one universal (i hate that word, unless you really mean it...let's say 'planetary') language was not evolutionarily logistical, but isn't it silly that most of us can't communicate with the majority of other humans? In any case, learning another language is a fabulous skill (for which i will forevermore be indebted to mes parents), and embarking in a metaphysical and existential conversation in 'la grosse québecoise' with native francophones is a real head-fuck. you get to use words like "tourbillon" and "microcosme" and "exploitation" etc...
and then in the hotel room you find a prepackaged toothbrush whose label expressively translates its descriptive contents from French into "TOOTHBRUSH IMPREGNATED WITH DENTIFRICE". I love my country.
what does this have to do with Skyhook? well, i've started editing our first and only recording, which will serve for a while as our live demo EP, tentatively entitled the Guerilla Bootleg EP, and some of it will be posted here shortly.
