Taxes Fund War Instead of Social Services

In Civil Disobedience, Henry David Thoreau said:

"Cast your whole vote, not a strip of paper merely, but your whole influence. A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority; it is not even a minority then; but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight. If the alternative is to keep all just men in prison, or give up war and slavery, the State will not hesitate which to choose. If a thousand men were not to pay their tax-bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay [the State], and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible."

Don't let a government steal from you, especially to fund needless wars! Keep your money! Don't pay taxes! Civilly Disobey!

John Stockwell: Crimes of the CIA (recorded in 1988):

John Stockwell, an ex-CIA station chief, details the many illegal, unethical, immoral, and genocidal things the CIA has done to the world and to the American people. John Stockwell is the highest ranking official ever to leave the agency and go public. He ran a CIA intelligence-gathering post in Vietnam, was the task-force commander of the CIA's secret war in Angola in 1975 and 1976, and was awarded the Medal of Merit before he resigned. This speech was given in 1988. He is author of the book, "In Search of Enemies"

The U.S. government spends $400 billion a year on "defense" and has spent and extra $310 billion on the Iraq War so far! There are 190 countries in the world; the US has bases in 130.

This isn't to protect us, but to make the rich richer at our expense.

The taxes that Americans pay go to murder and terrorize innocent people globally, and then results in terrorist blowback. For example, the blood of the over 600,000 Iraq citizens killed in the Iraq War is on the hands of American tax-payers.

STOP PAYING TAXES!

Give the money to charity, or spend it to protect yourself, or do whatever you want with it because it's your money. But whatever your do, stop giving it to a government that kills, terrorizes, and imprisons innocent people - whether globally as with the needless Iraq war, or domestically as with the war on drugs.

I oppose ALL terrorism. I oppose the use of offensive force, violence, or coercion against any innocent person for any reason.

"Under a government which imprisons unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison... Cast your whole vote, not a strip of paper merely, but your whole influence. A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority; it is not even a minority then; but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight. If the alternative is to keep all just men in prison, or give up war and slavery, the State will not hesitate which to choose. If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay [the State], and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible. If the tax-gatherer, or any other public officer, asks me, as one has done, 'But what shall I do?' my answer is, 'If you really wish to do anything, resign your office.' When the subject has refused allegiance, and the officer has resigned from office, then the revolution is accomplished. But even suppose blood shed when the conscience is wounded? Through this wound a man's real manhood and immortality flow out, and he bleeds to an everlasting death. I see this blood flowing now."

Politics: Why I Don't Vote

Here's an excerpt:

"Not only do I think that voting does NOT help, but I also believe voting hurts. I want to increase freedom and socioeconomic progress, namely by reducing (and hopefully eliminating) hunger, poverty, and victimization - even that committed by governments, through such mediums as taxation and police brutality. Voting in the pseudo-democracies of the world only brings us farther away from those goals."

Three George Carlin Quotes About Voting

1:

The next time they give you all that civic bullshit about voting, keep in mind that Hitler was elected in a full, free democratic election.

2:

I don't vote because I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain.

People like to twist that around. They say...well...if you don't vote, then you have no right to complain.

But where's the logic in that. If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent people and they get into office and screw everything up, well, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem, you voted them in, you have no right to complain.

I on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, and in no way responsible for what these people have done, and have every right to complain, as loud as I want about the mess you created, that I had nothing to do with.

3:

On election day, I stay home and do basically what you people do in the voting booth. The difference is, when I finish jerking off, I've got a little something to show for it.

I wrote a new article for my blog. Check it out:

Self-Defense: End Victimization!

Here's an excerpt:

"Neither lack of knowledge nor corporate interests deserve the bulk of the blame. Indeed, the corrupt politicians and greedy corporations merely take advantage of the ignorance and laziness of us, the general population. To protect innocent people from victimization, we the people need to accept our responsibility and do it ourselves. Woman are being raped! Children are being victimized!"
