first of all: sun is back! 21 degrees in frankfurt today, need to go and get some icecream with my girls in a minute...

Nachtierhaus Releaseparty @ ENZO was great - the quartet got the right groove - brilliant musicians, somewhere between jazz, afro, housemusic - bertram ritter on the drums inspired by tony allen? for sure and far beyond. they can get a crowd moving 2hrs without a break. thanks guys, and watch out for the new album, 6A2 with new stuff and remixes (the klitbeats remix is my fave, played it right after the live gig after unpacking the cd while they were still on stage...)

Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics - what can i say, a legend meeting a band somehwere between sun ra and james brown (if only for the cello and one of the tighest drummers out of the uk, malcolm catto) plus a heavy dose of Mulatus Ethio Jazz. they took the crowd on a journey and by storm. kick off for the live.club done and what else can we ask for? T H A N K S to everyone involved and especially Mister Astatke & the band for comin over...next live.club dates: April 22: Us3, May 31: Jimi Tenor & Kabu Kabu (FIN) , July 2: José James (NYC) - all with pre and after show parties, Jan Hagenkoetter and myself on the decks then. Big thanks also to the crew of Sinkkasten - nice n easy way to do things.....

radio? just finished a show with an absolutely freeeeeestyle selection and tribute to Marvin who would have turned 70 this year if his father would not have killed him 25 years ago. your music will live on FOREVER. its show 573.
