Hey guys

I think there has been a little confusion about this. So here is my attempt to clear it up a bit.

We are officially not a band anymore. So, unfortunately, we will no longer accept friend requests, reply to messages, or post anything new on this page. The three of us have moved on in different areas of our lives, so keeping this page updated is not very practical or useful. Please do not think we are being rude or are ignoring you when we don't respond. We love you guys and appreciate all you did! (Read previous blog entitled "Bittersweet" to get more details.)

We will, however, leave the music on the page for your listening pleasure! You never know who might come across the page and be challenged or moved by a tune.

On a side note, we still have a TON of t-shirts and CDs left. If you are interested in purchasing any, please email me @ honeycuttmusic@gmail.com. We'll give you some AMAZING deals! All money received will go to pay off debt that "Candlefuse" still owes.

So, hopefully, this clears everything up. You can check out myspace.com/benhoneycutt for future updates from me. Thanks a million!

Hey errrbody

We have some big news for you guys, and it will probably be a little shocking to most of you. So prepare yourself......are you ready? It's gonna be long. OK. Here we go.

Candlefuse will officially be "no more" after 2008. First off, we want to thank every single one of you who's ever booked a show, came to a show, bought a CD, talked to us, or had anything to do with this band. It really means the world to us.

We've definitely had our share of ups and downs, but after all, that's what being in a band is about. Really, that's what life is about. And we wouldn't change anything that's happened in this band that last 5 years. Whether it was awesome, tough, crappy, or sad, it has all made us into who we are today, both as artists and people. Not that artists aren't people, but you know what I mean! Sometimes, we want to have everything planned out perfectly, but a lot of the time, God just turns those plans upside down. And He's done that numerous times in my life, especially. But He always shows us how awesome He is, and how "not awesome" we are.

Even though we didn't "make it", or get signed, or anything like that, we refuse to look at our time in this band as a failure. We may have enjoyed "making it", or getting signed, but in the end, it wouldn't have really mattered. What we count as our success are the countless messages we've received here on myspace and emails of people just needing to talk about something, and the numerous stories we've heard on the road of teenagers and adults alike telling us their dreams, goals, struggles, and all of the above. Oh, and also all of the money we have made.........just kidding. That was my lame attempt at lightening the mood because I'm sure all of you are crying by now.

I don't think I need to list every reason that we're moving on, but I will say this. I believe God may be closing this door, but we're excited about the other doors that He's opening for us to walk through. It's kind of weird, but the three of us are happy and sad at the same time. Kind of like when something tastes bitter AND sweet. Yeah, bittersweet. Again... the mood is being lightened as I type.

Here's some good news. I'm going to be writing some new tunes for a solo project I'm working on. It's going to be more of an Acoustic/Pop/R&B/Timbaland/awesome kind of sound. I would love for you guys to go on over and become "re"-acquainted at my Myspace. www.myspace.com/benhoneycutt Like I said, no original music yet, but I did post some videos for guys to check out in the meantime.

As for JW and Benjamin, I'm not quite sure of their exact plans, but who knows? JW might become the greatest producer with the biggest recording studio in the history of mankind. And you might see Benjamin on your TV screen layin' down some fat beats. So keep your eyes open!

We will be playing all of the dates posted on our Myspace (more Christmas tour dates coming soon), so make sure you make it out to at least one of them, preferably all of them. Buy all of our merch, give us hugs (side-hugs for me...not a very touchy-feely guy), sing with us, laugh with us, and be a part of history in the making. Uh...maybe not that last one, but, who knows?

much love

Hey guys

Quick update. We're really excited about our Christmas tour this year. It's called the LIGHTS. LOVE. ACTION. Tour. We're teaming up with World Vision and Jonny Diaz (myspace.com/jonnydiazband) for several cities across the southeastern part of the United States from December 3rd to December 21st. The goal of this tour is to call people to put their love for other people in motion. What better season than Christmas to do that! Love is so much more than words. It's literally a lifestyle that we should strive for everyday. So, with the partnership of World Vision, we're trying not only to bring awareness to the astounding poverty around the world, but to challenge ourselves and others as well to do something about it. We can literally change the world with love. Just by following Christ's example of serving the poor. We feel like God's given us big dreams for this tour and the lives it might change. We're even taking the months of October and November really light scheduling wise. Just to kind of take a breath and a step back and re-focus what this band is all about. And to prepare musically and spiritually for this tour. But...we need your help to get the word out. So tell your pastor. Tell your youth pastor. Tell whoever you think might be interested about it. Thanks so much! Hope to see you guys soon.

Hey there boys and girl,

We've had so much going on in the past couple of weeks and I just really felt a deep need to show you guys some of the pictures. This could turn out to be a long blog so stick with me and we'll get through it. Hold someone's hand if you get scared. At the beginning of July we had the opportunity to play a few time at Cornerstone Festival in Illinois. It was really great to see some old friends as well as meet some new ones. To top it all off we had a good friend of ours, Yungtown, ride up with us. If you're into hip hop at all check him out. Below is a link to some of his early work and picture after a terrible accident where he lost his arms. Now let's take a little trip… to a place where music and culture flow like the waters of Niagara Falls (more on that later) and driving is kind of like indy car racing. Yes that's right, I'm talking about Chicago and if you've never been there on the 4th of July then you don't know anything about food and fireworks. It was honestly amazing. We ate constantly for about 5 hours then we climbed to the roof of the house we were at and watched these huge elaborate fireworks shows come from every direction. Chicagoans really know how to do it up right. After that we played in Ohio and in front of the church we met these really great reenactors (spelling?) with a cannon! Tell me that's not absolutely perfect. It was like something out of a movie. From there we headed up to New York where we met Chelsea who quickly became a friend… mostly because she brought us Starbucks and made us a cheesecake, just kidding… but really… ok moving on… New York was full of so many great memories. We had a little extra time while we were there and drove up to see Niagara Falls, which was so beautiful. I mean how do you put something like that into words. We had so much fun there so I put some pictures of it below. We ate at the Hard Rock Café there and saw Michael Jackson's shoes. That was pretty cool. We played a kind of stripped acoustic show that night and after that we had another band first. We stayed in our first bed and breakfast as a band. It was so great. We all had our own room, mine was called the walnut room. I put a link to it below. If you're ever go to Niagara Falls you should definitely stay at the Maplehurst Bed and Breakfast. Mark is an amazing host and has a beautiful place there. That's about it for now. Check out the pictures below.

You guys be blessed,
J.W.

hey boy, girls, and everyone else... random funny story for you,

Say you walk into a Burger King and order a Whopper Jr. with MUSTARD ONLY… When that little grilled piece of goodness comes out what do you think will be on it? Mustard, Meat, and Bread… right? Well if you play drums for Candlefuse that's just not how your reasoning works. You see, Benjamin really wanted a "W" Jr. without ketchup and with everything else. You can imagine how crushed he was when he opened that wax paper wrapper and under the bun was a barren desert of bread and a small oasis of yellow mustard laughing in his face, taunting his choice of words. You see there's a valuable life lesson here… the meaning of what your trying to say lies in the ear of the listener. You can explain all day long what you want, but if you're not clear in what your saying you're just wasting air. So go, talk, laugh, and believe in yourselves when you're ordering fast food. Know that when you say "hey, can I have a Dub Jr. with mustard only" it might just come out with mustard only!

Don't go chasing waterfalls…
Love you guys,
J.W.

p.s. thanks Mal for the BK gift card
p.p.s. below is a picture of where Whopper Jr's come from
