The Phatmike you think you know is arrogant, rude and unapproachable, right? If you ask him to play a song, he looks at you as if you're an idiot. Hand him a business card while he's working and it may wind up on the floor. Bump the table while he's mixing and the music might stop. Arrogant, rude, unapproachable, right?
Well, that's one opinion. Now, try this. Phatmike is all about the music. When Phatmike is at a party, he's there to work to play the music that gets and keeps you moving, to lose himself in the music and find the groove. Vocally suggesting that he play a song while he's listening to the beat in his headphones is like being in the passenger seat of a car and jerking the wheel. So if he looks at you strangely, it's only because you've interrupted the music in his head, disturbed the beat and ruined his focus for the moment. But, dont take it personally, it's not you. The music, not the man has control.
As a matter of fact, mixing and living the DJ lifestyle is only one of the many facets of Phatmike. He also has a regular nine to five and is self-employed. Phatmike has been working for the government almost as long as hes been a DJ.
Educated in art at Xavier University, Phatmike has recently begun a new venture as a graphic designer. He designs business cards and flyers and his cd covers. In addition to this, he also produces and promotes his line of disco, house, hip-hop/r&b mixed CDs.
Phatmike is one of those people passionate about and dedicated to good music. So, instead of thinking of Phatmike as arrogant, rude and unapproachable, try business minded and focused. Now, you know Phatmike.
