PRESS RELEASE
I'd like to sincerely apologize to the fans of Ed Robinson with respect
to him not showing up at Lorna's, 126-19 Merrick Blvd., Queens, NY for
the show billed with John Holt. (Sat 17,2009)
Ed did not mean to disappoint his fans, whose support he truly values.
This is not the behavior of Ed Robinson, as he is totally offended and
this has infringed tremendously on his hard won reputation and his
image of honesty and the genuine respect he has earned from each and
everyone of you over the years.
This has been the fifth time for the month that promoters has falsely
advertised Ed Robinson. These promoters continue to use the
"bait-and-switch" form of adverstisement. That is without the prior
permission or binding contract with the advertised artist, including
Ed. Certain promoters through printed media and radio spots claim that
seasoned and respected artist are booked to perform at certain venues
to underhandly draw upon their fan base. Ed has battled this behavior
in the past and will continue to do so to protect his name, catalog and
reputation.
Again, please accept Ed's apologies. In the interim, Ed's management
has sought legal counsel to determine how to prevent future occurrences.

Reggae legend Ken Boothe will celebrate his 59th birthday in pomp and style on Saturday, April 14 at Chef Orchid, inside the JFK Airport, Building 14, Cargo Area A in Queens, New York.
The highly anticipated bash is expected to attract legions of diehard fans - some travelling from far as Florida to attend the event.
"This is a very, very special occasion for Ken Boothe as it is the second consecutive year that he is celebrating his birthday in New York," event coordinator and CEO of Future Sounds Production David 'Fat Forward' Warren said.
"Last year we had a sold-out event and for that we thank the hundreds of fans who showed up, the R5 Radio family and other members of the media fraternity in New York who really showed Ken a lot of love. We went all out with the promotions and were pleased with the turnout. This year, we are moving ahead with the same intensity to ensure this is another memorable occasion," Warren said.
Boothe, who is a regular performer on stage shows around the globe, made his mark during the golden rocksteady era. He reignited his career a few years ago when he teamed with Shaggy on a remake of his popular single The Train Is Coming. The song garnered mainstream airplay and was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Money Train, starring Wesley Snipes. When I Fall In Love, Every Thing I Own, Artibella and Movin' Away are other bonafide hit songs and are among the popular tracks fans will be eager to hear.
Last year, Boothe was in his element and gave a remarkable performance. This year, organisers say, fans can expect another top quality set and an extra special treat as he will be joined on stage by friends Johnny Osbourne, Ed Robinson, Leroy Sibblies and Barry Heptone. Backing band will be the New Kingston Band.
