Posted on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 21:49:54

MuchMoreMusic has announced that they will be broadcasting VH1's Supergroup beginning on Sunday August 27th. The first episode will premiere at 2PM ET and repeat again at 7PM ET.

The show features five seasoned rock stars descending on Las Vegas to form a band and save rock. The catch? None of them know who their bandmates are ahead of time. Motor City Madman TED NUGENT, former SKID ROW frontman SEBASTIAN BACH and ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN team up with drummer/LED ZEPPELIN heir JASON BONHAM and BIOHAZARD's EVAN SEINFELD to live together, form a band, write new music and perform a concert in just 12 days!

SuperGroup Season Finale Comments
Well I have seen the Season Finale of SuperGroup. There are some facts that I need to address:

-Valerie & Doc, you seem to not understand why I feel entitled to some sort of control over the 'Skid Row' name. Please let me explain (although Doc already knows all this). Back in 1987 when I joined the band, yes it was already called Skid Row. I did not think up the name. But the fact is we bought the name 'Skid Row' from legendary British Guitar hero Gary Moore. His band 'Skid Row' was around in the early seventies & Gary Moore owned the name when we started in 1987. When the guitar player, bass player & myself all got signed to Atlantic (only 3 out of 5 members of the band were actually signed to the label), Gary Moore heard about it & said we could have the name for $35,000 US Dollars. Snake & Rachel walked into rehearsal & said "We have to pay Gary Moore 35 grand to use the name" & so we, as a band, did buy the name from Gary Moore. We were all glad to do it because it is a great name for a band. I remember looking at Scotti & Rob saying "wow, thats alot of $ but we gotta do it!" What I did not know was that Snake & Rachel put only their names on the copywrite / trademark of the name. No other members of the band has ownership of the name, even though 3 of us were signed to Atlantic. That's the music business for ya. It was not until years later after we bought the name from Gary Moore that I learned that we meant only 2 out of 5 members of the band. When I joined the band we had sold zero records. By the time I was fired in 1996 we had sold over 15 million records. Do I deserve a say in how the back catalogue is distributed, marketed, packaged, remixed/remastered etc.? Yes I do. Do I have any control whatsoever over my voice & image for at least 10 years of my career? At the moment, no. I hope to change this situation in the future.
- I would like to apologize to Uncle Ted Nugent for being an 'unprofessional' during our show at the Empire. The song 'Stranglehold' is one of my favorite songs ever but the song clocks in at 8 or 9 minutes & during a 50 minute set that is a considerable amount of time! So I really did not know what to do onstage during this musically incredible but vocally nonexistant part of the show. I knew there were a stack of DAMNOCRACY shirts backstage that I saw before the gig so I figured, why not give these shirts to the people who came to see the show. I in no way meant to be 'distracting ' during Ted's lead. I'll bet the people who got free DAMNOCRACY shirts did not mind that I did this. Sorry Uncle Ted but all I was trying to do was get people to have fun & have a good time.
- This is a reality show but it is more "show" than "reality".
The world has to know that:
a) Doc McGhee does not manage me (have not talked to him since March)
b) Valerie & Jay are in no way my "publicists" (have not talked to these people since March)
c) I do not have a 'stylist'.
d) Unfortunately, there are absolutley no plans at this time for the band DAMNOCRACY. No tour, no album, no nothin'. I would love to play / record / whatever with DAMNOCRACY but at the moment all of us are busy with our Rock & Roll, Adult Film, & Hunting careers. I am recording my second solo CD entitled 'Angel Down' which will be in stores this October. See http://www.sebastianbach.com for video updates. My solo band will be on tour with Guns N' Roses this July in the UK.
Hope you all enjoyed 'SuperGroup'. See ya on tour.

Wow, over 33,000 plays in a day. You people are curious about the music we created. That rules. Maybe they will actually let you hear some next week in the finale. Wouldn't that be amazing? Music is the reason the 5 of us were asked to be in the house and then that reason gets thrown out the window when it comes to what gets shown. Hmm, what's more interesting, me eating, or me JAMMING WITH TED NUGENT?????
Anyway, enough ranting for now. It was fun to watch episode 6 with Sebastian and Evan last night. Please come check me out at http://www.myspace.com/scottian
Damnocracy season 2 on tour!!! Let's do it!!!! Email VH1 and tell them you demand it!!!!
Cheers,
Scott

DAMNDEMOS ONLINE NOW
It is more than a little frustrating to watch the show & see little to no footage of the band actually playing music. When I say on the show "well we jammed for 6 or 7 hours today" but they show none of it , it drives me nuts! The whole infamous "fight scene" with Evan & myself actually occured after dinner , late at night , & by the time we got into the mayhem it was 2 or 3 in the morning. When you have a full jam room in the house it is fun to get loose have a few drinks & jam. But all that occured after a full day of playing music stone cold sober ..... which is not on the show! So here are 3 demos that I did on my laptop... extremely low quality & zero production ... if we ever cut these tunes, they would probably sound nothing like these demos .... but I figured that if they can show me completely rotted out of my skull on the show, I can share with you these crude but rocking demos that we did while in Vegas. These songs are not done at all. I don't know if they ever will be. I am not a producer or an engineer. Hopefully we can cut these songs for real someday! I will be posting remixes & more DAMNOCRACY music here so stay tuned.
Only 2 episodes left ! Sunday nights at 10 on vh1!!!!!!

Few rock icons in recent years have been thrust into the spotlight as much as former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach.

Whether he's performing on Broadway, hosting television shows on VH1, starring in a reality series or sharing the stage with Axl Rose, Bach is back on the rock and roll map.

His outspoken attitude and love for rock and roll is obvious, which is probably why he's been asked to represent mainstream headbangers in recent times.

"I didn't ever figure out why I get the things I do, but I am the luckiest guy in rock," Bach said, followed by his signature laugh during a telephone interview with the Tribune from a tour stop in London. Bach was touring Europe with Guns N' Roses, a gig that had him on stage with Rose every evening performing the song, "My Michelle."

"For VH1 to treat me the way they do and for Axl Rose to say 'come and open the tour,' it's like what the hell? Really, sometimes I gotta pinch myself because I'm so happy doing what I'm doing," he said.

Besides his musical accomplishments, Bach has been the star of Broadway productions like "Jekyll & Hyde," "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," and "Jesus Christ Superstar" and also can be found playing the role of Gil on the WB's "The Gilmore Girls." His marriage was featured in a VH1 reality show called "I Married ... Sebastian Bach." He has hosted several shows on VH1, most recently the "Top 40 Metal Songs of All Time."

Currently Bach stars in the hit VH1 reality show, "SuperGroup," which brings five rock stars together in a house to produce music for an impromptu performance days later.

Whether it's being noticed for his music, or for his antics on television, Bach is just happy to be in the spotlight.

"Back in the late '80s, they played these things called rock videos. They were like little movie clips ... film clips of the songs," Bach said with a hint of sarcasm. "Now they don't make rock videos anymore, really. Now, MTV and VH1 are mostly reality shows. If they change the format, but I'm still on (TV), then I'm down with that.

"All that means is when I come into your town, you're gonna come see the show, so I'm definitely fine with that."

Skid Row enjoyed rock video successes with songs like "18 and Life" "I Remember You," "Youth Gond Wild," and "Slave to the Grind."

The "SuperGroup" producers chose Bach as vocalist, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Biohazard bassist Evan Seinfeld, Foreigner drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, and guitarist Ted Nugent as the core of the band, ultimately named Damnocracy.

Also seen on the show has been Evan Seinfeld's adult-film star wife, Tera Patrick, who was born in Great Falls as Linda Ann Shapiro.

In a fusion of "The Osbournes" meets "The Real World," "SuperGroup" is a seven-part series that gives the forced bandmates 12 days to produce music for a live show. Along the way, the Damnocracy members argue and disagree, a key ingredient for a good reality TV show.

"This show seems to be interested in the personalities of rock and roll. To me the music's more interesting than that," Bach explained. "Maybe people like seeing guys fight ... and stuff like that. It is interesting to see the choices that we all make. It's an interesting insight into what's important to each one of us."

Those familiar with "SuperGroup" know about Bach and his bombastic approach to molding the band. Everyone from the band's publicists to the manager to bassist Seinfeld have come to blows with Bach during the series.

"If me and Evan get in a fight or I get drunk, or Ted Nugent gets mad at me 'cause I'm too drunk ... it's very interesting to see all of that unfold. The exposure you get on these shows is outrageous," Bach said, noting his inability to conform to ways others demand from him. "It's like, we want you to do a reality show, but don't tell me what my reality is. Don't say 'OK, Sebastian, this is your reality.' I'll never do that. I know how to sing in a rock band."

Although there have been some obstacles, Bach has had no regrets from appearing on the show and even hinted that there might be a second season.

"I love the show," he said. "People are driving past my house going, 'SuperGroup!' It is getting kind of crazy. My life is exploding again, which is fun. But you asked for it, you got it, here it is. Get ready."

Look for Bach to release his long-awaited solo album, "Angel Down," in September. The singer plans on entering the studio this month to track the album, just before heading back out on the road for more opening gigs with Guns N' Roses, and playing shows with Kiss and Alice In Chains in Japan.

"I'm extremely excited because I've been working on this album for five years, at least, which is a long time. Not quite as long as Axl, but it's still pretty long," Bach said with a laugh. "It's really a great time for rock and roll."
