In case you haven't noticed, we haven't been an active band for a while, a lot of reasons out of our control. Life is full of unexpected changes, and this was one of them. I posted some new demos that were recorded a while ago as well as some old songs. Enjoy them, reminisce, hate them, whatever works for you. I'll probably switch them up sometime again when I'm in an emotional mood. The songs up now are a pretty broad timespan of the band and where it has been over these greatest years of my life. Love is the only constant in life, and I had and still have more love for this band and everything/one connected to it, than I will ever love anything.
if this is all the time we have, make something happen.
what you should do
1. www.nothingbutnets.net instead of going to sheetz and eating gross food one night, donate $10 on this website that buys a mosquito net preventing the spread of malaria in africa and saves a life. yea i know shmagelz are tasty.
2. google ron paul look the guy up, if you like what he says, cool. if not, don't worry about it
3. make someone smile today no love could ever be so pure, but if my life could sustain yours, how could this be a mistake?
we'll never be the goodbye we owe to you.

What's up errbody
We'll be posting a new demo song sometime tonight. It should be up by midnight tonight, so keep checking back. It's called Boston, and if you've been to any of our shows recently, you've probably heard it. So check it out, let us know what you think.
In other news, we've been keeping very busy practicing 3-4 times a week, and writing/demoing all sorts of new stuff, so even though it seems like we haven't been doing much, we're busier than ever. Expect some more demos to get posted in the future. Hopefully we'll get this new record done and out and we can hit the road and never stop.
thanks so much peace and love brent and taoa

Every band endures moments of transition; times of hardship, uncertainty and anxiety. Moments such as this are what test the resilience and the drive of any musical group. Members come and go. Pathes meet and separate and bandmates become friends as they depart with the memories of all the good times and the bad times to remind them of why it was all so worthwhile in the end.
The freedom which this lifestyle has allowed me will be a memory I cherish always.
I'm sorry to say that this past tour throughout the U.S. will be my last with The Art of Abandonment. For six years now have they been my brothers and family, traveling with me, arguing, laughing, etc. Our ride has been a wild ride full of fun stories, shady neighborhoods and Wal-Mart parking lots. Sure not every show was a soldout show. Not every night was a good night and we had our fair share of good fights. Yet in the end, we all came home with a sense of wellbeing for the fact that we were doing what we love, spreading our music to any who would listen.
It is a mutual decision for me to quit the band. I'll keep my explanation brief by simply saying that there were creative differences that were simply irreconcileable. Always have I been divided between my love for our music and the desire to create other music; to tour and yet to teach or write the thoughts and meditations I have held onto for years now. I cannot predict how well I'll do in any of these fields since the future is as uncertain as the weather, but I will do my best just as I'm sure the boys will keep trucking to the best of their talent. It's just that in the end, it was better for everyone that I quit. I wish them all the best of luck and I thank all of you who supported me.
Sincerely,
Joshua D. Keller

we're on the east coast right now, Tampa, FL actually.
It's been a while since we updated so I hope everyone's doing well at home and I hope everyone is stoked about the upcoming show at RLH along with our show at the Loft. (RLH: June 2nd) (Loft: June 9th)
Be there or be square.
So we've had a few days off. We've been sleeping in Wal Mart parking lots and visiting the beaches and all that crap, but I got bit to hell by mosquitoes. Last night was a show in St. Augustine and that was pretty wild. Partying and all.
Our shows have been so-so, but hey, it's good to be home. We'll be back next week (Sunday, I think) and then we have a long hard three weeks ahead of us. Keep in touch, and take care.
Josh and TAOA
